    DWDP-Gen 15: 8-21 Promise Renewed, Prophecy Revealed, Propitiation Predicted

    Send us Fan Mail Abram believes God, then asks a question many of us are almost afraid to say out loud: “How can I know?” We sit with that moment in Genesis 15:8–21 and trace how God responds not with shame, but with a covenant that speaks in blood, symbols, and unstoppable grace. Along the way, we slow down and explain the ancient covenant ritual of divided sacrifices and what it meant for two parties to walk between the pieces.  Then the passage gets even more intense: the waiting, the circling birds of prey, the deep sleep, and the terror of great darkness.     DWDP-Gen 15: 1-6 Abrams Faith Credited as Righteousness

    Send us Fan Mail Fear has a way of shrinking our world down to one hot question: “What happens to me next?” Abram asks it in Genesis 15 when he looks at his childless home and wonders what God’s promises could possibly mean. We open the text slowly and let God’s first words set the tone: “Do not fear… I am a shield… your reward shall be very great.” Then we track the moment that changes everything, Genesis 15:6, where Abram believes the Lord and God credits that faith as righteousness. Along the way, we talk plainly about how the word of the Lord comes to us now. Most of us are not getting visions, but we are surrounded by God’s voice when Scripture is read, preached, and taught, and when we pick up the Bible ourselves. We open Genesis 14:17-20 and meet Melchizedek, King of Salem and priest of God Most High, as he brings bread and wine, blesses Abram, and receives a tenth. If you’ve ever wondered why this brief scene carries so much weight, we walk through the details that make it unforgettable. We explore what Melchizedek’s name and title reveal: King of Righteousness and King of Peace, words that echo the identity and work of Jesus Christ.
