Morning Cup of Murder

I absolutely love this podcast! My day doesn’t start if I can’t listen to my MCOM! Even my teenage girls like to listen too! ☺️

I have been listening to MCOM for 7 years now and I’ll never get tired of it. I look forward to every morning making tea, sitting on my balcony, settling in and listening to that day’s true crime story. If there’s a morning that I cannot do my routine, I feel off. I especially appreciate that the word fumbles are kept in, makes the host relatable. ❤️

Good podcast but- 1. ridiculous amount of ads. Let's say the average episode is around 10 minutes long. There are usually at least 3-4 minutes of ads at the beginning and sometimes even an ad at the end too. Here is an example- the episode from 1/22/2026 is 10 minutes long and has 4 minutes of ads at the beginning. That's 40% of the episode. That's ridiculous. 2. Also, writer/author frequently gets dates wrong. One example (out of many), a 'boating expedition' episode from 12/2025, she says right at the beginning that a man goes missing in 2018, but it wasn't reported till 2011, (????) then doubles down on those dates again in the next sentence. Not only was that in the draft she wrote down, but then didn't catch the error when she actually recorded it or edited it too? So sloppy. Also, in the episode 'The curious death of a children's author,' from 7/15/2023, she states that the author was born in 1964 but then a bit later she says that she married her husband in 1966- obviously that's not right since she was not 2 years old when she got a job after college and got married. She probably meant 1996, but, come on. (It's not just these episodes either- it's quite a few.)

I’ve been listening to this podcast for 5 years I think now every morning as I have my coffee. It’s one of my favorite podcasts.
