Everything

This Podcast is everything...
Everything I have felt over the years trying to “fit in” and feel truly welcomed at a multitude of yoga studios... and tbh just in life. Microaggressions are real and happen everyday. The whole time while listening I kept nodding and saying “yes” out loud. Thank you for this... thank you for creating a safe space and solidarity.

Racist, sanctimonious, hypocrites, hateful

They seem to be garnering support for a racist hate cult. They act like they are victims when they are privileged enough to study overseas and teach yoga full time. They do onto others the very thing they complain about. They make derogatory marks about white people. They are not inclusive. They shut you down when your viewpoint doesn’t match there’s. If you disagree, they label you as ignorant, defensive, and stereotypical. They tell you offensive things and make racist comments then tell you if you are offended then you have work to do and to sit with your feelings. Why would anyone take what they say as gospel? Everyone goes through their own process. Yes I’m skinny and white. And I am a yogi whether they say so or not.

On Point!!

This goes beyond Yoga studios I am in the process of becoming an instructor in a studio where the owner/instructors/clientele is predominately white. Very nice folks but has Not idea what it feels like to be the minority and the owner and management not really doing the work to understand but making comments they are there to help does make this journey easy. I’ve been brave in sharing and now feel like they are walking on eggshells around the fragile black woman and her experience. Thank you for being brave to get this topic of awareness going.
