Loved listening to the conversation, BUT as a native New York… born and bred in Washington Heights, I’d have to say some of the information mentioned in the show is just not accurate. I went to school with Lin’s sister . We are the same age. You mentioned you can tell he was very young and didn’t know much about Washington Heights. While , yes he was young, he is closely acquainted with many of us who are in our 50’s and up. His mom and dad were very active in the community, so I’m am confident Lin’s message portrayed in the movie was relevant to growing up in the heights. Only people from there can truly relate to every event in that movie/play. I loved it. Also, I grew up on 177th and Fort Washington Ave, and my building was/is very nice and clean and not “bad” as mentioned for residences in the 170’s.
