Wild Wellness with Jess

Jess Reid

I’m Jess, a Health Keeper, someone who tends the Wholeness of others. I guide women recovering their health to reconnect with Nature, Intuition, and a Life you actually LIKE. While it’s true that like many health coaches, I can help you eat better and/or lose weight, the true meaning of Health is Wholeness, and I tend the conditions where it can flourish. For those who’ve outgrown the grind, standing at the edge of what’s next—the Wild Wellness with Jess podcast is where Spirit’s love story with Nature is felt in your everyday life, where we see the mystical breathe into the practical, where we honor moon phases and menstrual phases, and nutrition and nervous systems are as sacred as soul and self-trust. You’ll hear real talk about healing from the systems that disconnect us, and learning to live like you actually like your life—through resourcing, through ritual, and through rest.

Did you know? Without any contact through space and time that we know of, the ancient Celts in Ireland and the ancient Aztecs in Mexico, along with other cultures through the world, have all believed that this midpoint between Autumn and Winter is a time when the veil between worlds is its thinnest and that ancestors and faeries can come pay us visits. Even though many celebrate on October 31, we can celebrate this whole season. 352. Clean Pain, Dirty Pain, and the Neurochemistry of Healing Through Story & Meaning-Making

“It’s not just about what happened to us. It’s the meaning we make of what happened.” As we approach the Full Moon in this month of the Vine Moon, I want to bring forward another client story and teach one of my favorite guidance concepts: Clean Pain vs. Dirty Pain. This Vine Moon lunar cycle in the Celtic Lunar Tree Calendar has been asking us to sit with Truth and Discernment. To notice the difference between a story that protects us and a story that sets us free. Some stories help us heal. Some stories keep us suffering long after the original pain has passed. In this episode, I’m sharing a client story about relational disappointment, betrayal, and the process of finding a story that was True enough to hold her healing. We’ll explore the difference between clean pain and dirty pain, why our brains are wired to make meaning, the role serotonin and psychedelic medicines may play in that process, and why healing so often involves learning to see the same story from a different vantage point. Sometimes the most healing story isn’t the one that excuses what happened. And it isn’t the one that makes someone else the villain. It’s simply the story that tells the Truth while preserving your dignity and giving you somewhere to go next. 🤍 Explore One-On-One Guidance If you want help discovering the story that will heal you, this is exactly the kind of thing we can explore together in 1:1 guidance. You don’t have to commit to months of support. Sometimes one week, one conversation, or one new way of seeing what happened can create movement. You bring what’s alive, and we follow it together. 🌿 Join Tend & Befriend This Thursday, October 22 One of the most important things about clean pain is that it asks to be witnessed. Sometimes we don’t need someone to fix what happened, tell us what it means, or help us build a case against the person who hurt us. Sometimes we simply need people who can sit beside us in what’s True, without immediately turning the pain into a bigger story about what it means about you, your future, or someone else. That’s so much of what Tend & Befriend is about. This Thursday, October 22 from 1–2:30 PM Eastern, we’re gathering live on Zoom for our next women’s circle. It’s a space to speak what’s alive, listen to what’s alive for other women, be witnessed, and remember that sometimes healing happens through finding a new story. And sometimes healing happens because someone sits beside us long enough that we no longer need the old one. 351. Is It Lying Or Is It Loving?

“I’m not just looking for what’s right. I’m looking for what’s Loving.” What if concealment isn’t always deception? What if keeping something private can sometimes protect dignity, preserve emotional safety, or even be the most Loving choice? In this episode, I’m sharing a client story that opened up a much bigger conversation about lying, concealment, integrity, morality, and Love. My client discovered that her partner had been using Viagra without telling her. Because of her past experiences, her nervous system immediately interpreted the omission as dishonesty and danger. But was it actually a lie? Or was it something more nuanced? We’ll explore the difference between lying and concealing, why intention and impact both matter, and how our own wounds and beliefs shape the meaning we make of someone else’s behavior. I’ll also take you back to a philosophy class during my freshman year at Bible college that completely disrupted my black-and-white understanding of morality, and into the teachings of Jesus that continue to bring me back to one central question: What is most Loving here? 🤍 Join Tend & Befriend One of the reasons nuance can feel so difficult is because we need relationships where there’s room for complexity. Where we can say “This hurt me” without needing to turn the other person into a villain. Where we can understand why someone did what they did without abandoning the Truth of our own experience. Where our friendships can hold our boundaries and our compassion, our hurt and our understanding, our Truth and someone else’s Truth. That’s so much of what Tend & Befriend is about. On Thursday, October 22 from 1–2:30 PM Eastern, we’re gathering live on Zoom for the next Tend & Befriend Circle. You don’t need to arrive with something profound to share or a problem that needs fixing. It’s simply a place to come into relationship with other women, to be witnessed, to listen, to connect, and to practice being human together. We don’t have to flatten ourselves or anyone else into good or bad, right or wrong, victim or villain. We can keep returning together to the question: What would Love have us do here? Want to Explore Your Own Story More Deeply? If conversations like this feel like oxygen to your system and there’s something in your own Life you want help untangling, you can also explore one-on-one guidance with me. We can look together at the story you’re telling, what your nervous system is responding to, what your Intuition is saying, and what a more Loving interpretation might make possible. You bring what’s alive, and we follow it together. More Ways We Can Walk Together: One-On-One Guidance Wild Wellness Women's Circle Instagram Facebook Free Resources Free Curiosity Call

    350. Vine in the Celtic Tree Calendar: Truth, Timing & Loving Concealment

“Sometimes Love says yes. Sometimes Love says no. Sometimes Love says not yet. And sometimes Love says: not yours.” In this episode, we’re exploring Vine in the Celtic Lunar Tree Calendar, a lunar month devoted to Truth, Discernment, and Timing. Vine asks us to consider not only what is True, but what to do with other people's Truth, what Truth needs to be spoken or acted on, and whether honesty always requires complete access. We’ll follow the Vine into the wisdom of grapes that have to ripen, the Ogham letter Muin and its fascinating relationship with Love and “the path of the voice,” and really practical filter questions I use in my own relationship with Truth. But Vine also takes us somewhere much more nuanced: Can concealment ever be Loving? Can privacy be Sacred? Does Integrity require complete exposure? We’ll explore the difference between lying and concealing, why context and intention matter, Blackberry’s invitation to protect Sacred spaces, and what Samhain can teach us about the Truths that remain hidden in the dark. We’ll also explore how the stories we tell about what happened to us can become their own kind of Truth, the difference between clean pain and dirty pain, and how finding a more Loving meaning can become part of our healing. In this episode: What the Celtic Lunar Tree Calendar is and why I follow the Moon through 13 trees Why Vine asks a natural next question after Hazel: What do we do with the Truth that Intuition reveals? 3 questions I use to discern the most Loving Timing for speaking a Truth 2 questions I use to discern whether I want to take on other people’s opinions as my own Truth Vine as the Celtic Birth Essence known as The Equaliser Reflection questions for discerning what is True, what is yours, and what is ripe right now 🌙 Follow the Celtic Lunar Tree Calendar Sign up to get the Full Vine Moon Guide and continue receiving each new tree guide in your inbox as we move through all thirteen trees together. 349. Do You Need Clarity or Courage? Intuitive Guidance, Self-Trust & Making Big Decisions

“Sometimes we think we’re looking for Clarity when what we’re actually looking for is Courage.” Recently, a really big invitation appeared in my Life. And because the decision felt so big, I wanted support outside of myself. In this episode, I’m exploring the difference between needing an answer and needing someone to help us trust the answer we already have. Because receiving intuitive guidance from another person doesn’t have to mean outsourcing our Authority. Sometimes another person can simply stand outside of all the Fear, hope, attachment, and overthinking surrounding our question and reflect back what they see. And when what they see resonates with what we already know, something shifts. Maybe intuitive guidance isn’t always about learning something new. Maybe sometimes it helps us remember something True. Mentioned in this episode: 1. 🔮 Discover Your Spiritual Gifts Do you know how your own Intuition tends to communicate with you? Maybe you know instantly through your body. Maybe you need Time to move through an emotional wave. Maybe you hear your Truth while talking something out, or receive information through one of the intuitive or psychic senses. Inside my free Discover Your Spiritual Gifts masterclass, we’ll explore your Human Design Authority, the different intuitive and psychic senses, and some of the ways your own spiritual gifts may already be communicating with you that you’ve been overlooking. 2. ✨ Ask & Receive: Monday, October 12 on Zoom On Monday, October 12 from 12–1:30 PM Eastern, I’m gathering just six women on Zoom for Ask & Receive, a group Intuitive Guidance Gathering where you can bring the questions, decisions, longings, and crossroads that you want some support discerning.
