Enabling Is Not Love - Why Helping Them Is Hurting Both of You

Enabling is not love. Taking the calls, offering the solutions, and reassuring them is co-abuse disguised as care, and handing the problem back is the most loving thing you can do for both of you. In this video, trauma recovery and relationship coach Kenny Weiss explains how to stop enabling a parent, adult child, or family member, why rescuing keeps both of you stuck in childhood roles, and the exact boundary script that returns the problem to its owner without abandoning the person you love. If you feel guilty setting boundaries with your mother or father, this video shows you where that guilt was installed. Kenny walks you through his three proprietary frameworks: the Worst Day Cycle™ (Trauma, Fear, Shame, Denial), the Authentic Self Cycle™ (Truth, Responsibility, Healing, Forgiveness), and the six steps of the Emotional Authenticity Method™, including Feelization, the step that rewires the emotional blueprint at the root instead of managing symptoms. Enabling is co-abuse disguised as care. Every rescue sends a hurtful unspoken message: I do not believe you are capable of running your own life. Kenny Weiss teaches that this is disrespect disguised as help, and it plays an equal part in the other person's self-abuse. Enabling keeps two people replaying their childhoods on each other. The parent remains the wounded child demanding someone manage their feelings, and the adult child remains the parentified child hoping that one more rescue will finally earn the parent they always needed. Kenny Weiss's script for ending enabling is to empathize, then return the problem to its owner: sounds like you're having big feelings about that, I'm sure you'll work it out. It sends the healing message, I trust and believe in you. Daddy Issues — The Father Blueprint Running Your Adult Relationships

Daddy issues describe the specific signature of paternal emotional patterning that becomes the adult's template for safety, worth, authority, and intimacy, distinct from mommy issues in mechanism and adult expression. This video walks through what daddy issues actually are, why both sexes carry them, and the seven father patterns that map to seven specific adult signatures. If your inner critic, your authority response, or your partner choices feel older than you, this names the blueprint underneath them. Kenny Weiss is the creator of the Worst Day Cycle™, the Authentic Self Cycle™, and the Emotional Authenticity Method™. This teaching maps the father wound to the survival persona, the falsely empowered or disempowered paternal blueprint, and the architecture of safety, worth, and authority installed before language. Daddy issues are not an insult and not limited to women. They are the paternal emotional pattern installed in the child's nervous system during the theta brainwave state of the first seven years, becoming the adult's template for how authority feels in the body. While mommy issues are the inner weather a person lives inside, daddy issues are the inner architecture, the load-bearing walls of safety, worth, and authority that the father either built or failed to build. Both sexes inherit it equally because both daughters and sons need a father to model safety with people bigger than them. Seven father patterns produce seven adult signatures. Absent produces the over-functioner. Rage-prone produces the freeze around loud authority. Addicted produces chronic mood-scanning. Disengaged produces invisibility in love. Golden-child produces hollow performance. Over-providing emotionally absent confuses logistics with love. Critical produces the inner narrator that never stops grading. The Emotional Authenticity Method™ addresses the father wound at the architectural level. Its six steps trace the activation from somatic down-regulation through earliest memory to Feelization, where the body builds a new emotional addiction to the adult's own steady inner authority instead of the inherited one. Kenny Weiss is a relationship, communication, and childhood trauma recovery specialist and the creator of the Worst Day Cycle™, the Authentic Self Cycle™, and the Emotional Authenticity Method™. Why You're Crying for No Reason — The Body Catching Up on Old Pain

Crying for no reason is the nervous system releasing emotion that the child was not allowed to express. This is not dysfunction, it is the body completing what was once incomplete. The tears are arriving on time, decades late. This video walks through why you are crying in parking lots, in showers, at commercials, in the arms of partners who did nothing wrong, and why your body is not malfunctioning, it is finishing. If you have been embarrassed by tears that come without warning, this names what is actually happening. Kenny Weiss is the creator of the Worst Day Cycle™, the Authentic Self Cycle™, and the Emotional Authenticity Method™. This teaching maps unexplained tears to the Emotional Permission System, dead spots thawing, suppressed grief returning, and the body completing what the child could not complete. Crying for no reason is rarely hormones, depression, or weakness. It is the nervous system releasing emotion the child was forbidden from expressing. The body does not forget grief, it waits until the adult life is finally safe enough to let it arrive. The childhood Emotional Permission System told most adults that sadness was not safe. Tears were dismissed, mocked, or met with silence. The body filed the tears away and learned not to make them at all. Decades later, when safety arrives, those stored tears begin to release. This is the body completing what was once incomplete. The nervous system that has been suppressing for thirty years is not malfunctioning, it is finishing. Hormone panels, antidepressants, and journaling cannot reach this because what is happening is not a problem to be fixed, it is a process to be allowed. The Emotional Authenticity Method™ addresses unexplained tears at the body level. Its six gentle steps trace the tears from somatic down-regulation through earliest memory to Feelization, where the body builds a new emotional addiction to being free instead of being held together. Victim Mentality: Why You Became the Victim Decades Ago

If you have a victim mentality, you are not weak and you are not broken, and you are not doing it on purpose. This video explains why you chose the victim position decades ago in childhood, and the path back out. Victim mentality rarely starts in your current relationship or your divorce. It starts in childhood, when a small nervous system decides that if everything is its fault, at least it has the power to fix it. Relationship and childhood trauma recovery specialist Kenny Weiss breaks down why playing the victim feels safe, why someone else apologizing never brings you peace, and how to move from the victim position into responsibility. You will see how the Worst Day Cycle™, the loop of trauma, fear, shame, and denial, keeps the victim position locked in place, and how the Authentic Self Cycle™, the path of truth, responsibility, healing, and forgiveness, walks you out of it. Kenny also teaches the Tennis Court boundary, so you stop leaping over the net to make other people validate your pain. Victim mentality is not weakness or a character flaw. It is an intelligent survival strategy formed in childhood. A child who cannot survive the truth that their caregivers are failing them makes it their own fault, because being to blame feels like the power to fix it. The victim position is displaced grief. The anger you feel toward the person who wronged you is often really anger at the moment you stopped choosing yourself and stayed anyway. Responsibility is not blame. In the Authentic Self Cycle™, responsibility is power, because the only part of any painful situation you can heal is your own part. Being told to just take responsibility usually fails because it adds shame instead of a path. Kenny Weiss is a relationship, communication, and childhood trauma recovery specialist and the creator of the Worst Day Cycle™, the Authentic Self Cycle™, and the Emotional Authenticity Method™. Unlike conventional therapy, CBT, or mindset coaching that treat victim mentality as a thought to fix or a habit to scold away, he traces it to the childhood emotional blueprint and gives you a way to rewrite it Watch next, my video on the fear of abandonment in relationships at https://youtu.be/nJAJSgp36Os, and my video on overcoming rejection at https://youtu.be/yYDmXw19mUA. Avoidant Attachment: Why You Sabotage Every Relationship You Want

Avoidant attachment is not coldness, and it is not emotional unavailability, it is emotional unprotection. If you keep pushing away the people you most want to keep, this video shows you why it happens and the concrete steps to start healing it. Relationship and childhood trauma recovery specialist Kenny Weiss breaks down avoidant attachment as a survival pattern built in childhood, not a personality flaw. You will learn why you go cold when closeness gets real, why you can feel emotionally unavailable to the one person who matters most, and what a love avoidant, codependent person actually needs to do to heal. It speaks to the shutdown or avoidant partner, and to the over giver exhausted from loving one. Kenny teaches that the love avoidant is the falsely empowered end of the codependence spectrum, so the way out is not more independence but interdependence. He walks through the five core symptoms of codependence first named by Pia Mellody and gives one concrete healing step for each. He ties the pattern to the Worst Day Cycle™, the unconscious loop of trauma, fear, shame, and denial that keeps the avoidant stuck. Avoidant attachment is not emotional unavailability, it is emotional unprotection, a survival persona built when childhood closeness meant engulfment. The love avoidant learned that being close meant being consumed, so the adult nervous system reads intimacy as danger and withdraws to survive. Healing avoidant attachment is not about becoming more independent, because independence is the avoidant's defense. It is about building interdependence, two whole people who choose to share a life by mutual agreement. Kenny Weiss is a relationship, communication, and childhood trauma recovery specialist and the creator of the Worst Day Cycle™, the Authentic Self Cycle™, and the Emotional Authenticity Method™. Why Am I So Angry Over Little Things? The Fear Underneath

Why am I so angry over little things, and why does it seem to come out of nowhere? If anger management has never actually worked for you, this video shows you the fear hiding underneath your anger and how to release it instead of suppressing it. Relationship and childhood trauma recovery specialist Kenny Weiss explains why you get so angry over small things, why deep breathing and counting to ten can make anger worse, and what repressed and suppressed anger are really hiding. It speaks to the high functioning adult whose rage seems to come out of nowhere, and to the suppressor who never raises their voice while their body quietly breaks down. Kenny teaches that anger is a secondary cover emotion sitting on top of fear, and the fear is always one of three, rejection, inadequacy, or powerlessness, what he calls the R.I.P. model. Beneath that fear is unfelt childhood sadness. He ties the pattern to the Worst Day Cycle™, shows why suppression drives rage into the body, and gives a release based path using the Emotional Authenticity Method™ and the Rage Letter, not management. Anger is a secondary emotion that covers one of three fears, rejection, inadequacy, or powerlessness, and beneath that fear is unfelt childhood sadness. Anger is a bodyguard standing in front of a far more vulnerable feeling. Anger management techniques like deep breathing and counting to ten can make anger worse because they suppress the feeling instead of releasing it. The pressure does not disappear, it is driven down into the body. Suppressed anger is linked to chronic illness. Dr. Vincent Felitti's research on adverse childhood experiences connects unprocessed rage and pain to migraines, autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, and weight that resists dieting. Kenny Weiss is a relationship, communication, and childhood trauma recovery specialist and the creator of the Worst Day Cycle™, the Authentic Self Cycle™, and the Emotional Authenticity Method™. Disorganized Attachment — When the Person You Need Is Also Dangerous

Disorganized attachment forms when the same caregiver is both the source of comfort and the source of fear, creating an adult nervous system that approaches and avoids in the same instant. This is the both-at-once wound. This video walks through what disorganized attachment actually is, why anxious and avoidant advice has never reached you, and how the pull-push dance in your love life was learned at the exact age you needed a parent to feel one way. If you keep reaching and bracing at the same time, this names the wound. Kenny Weiss is the creator of the Worst Day Cycle™, the Authentic Self Cycle™, and the Emotional Authenticity Method™. This teaching maps disorganized attachment to the Adapted Wounded Child survival persona, the both-at-once parental setup, and the titrated re-patterning that ends the choreography. Disorganized attachment is not a personality flaw and not a dating problem. It forms when the same caregiver is both the source of comfort and the source of fear, leaving the child no organized place to land. The adult body then learns to approach and avoid in the same gesture. The adult with disorganized attachment does not behave like a textbook anxious attacher or a textbook avoidant runner. They behave like both, often in the same hour. They pursue until the partner gets close, then cannot stand the air in the room. They crave intimacy and panic the second somebody offers it. Generic attachment advice cannot reach disorganized attachment because most of it is built for clean anxious or clean avoidant. It tells the anxious person to self-soothe and the avoidant person to let people in. Both of those moves fire the alarm at the same time for the disorganized adult. The Emotional Authenticity Method™ addresses disorganized attachment at the nervous-system level. Its six steps trace the both-at-once feeling from somatic down-regulation through earliest memory to Feelization, where the body builds a new emotional addiction to safe closeness instead of the dance. Anhedonia — Why You Don't Feel Anything (And How to Get It Back)

Anhedonia is not a chemical deficiency. It is the protective collapse of an emotional system that has been suppressing for too long. Feeling returns when the survival persona is gently dismantled and the Authentic Self is given permission to feel again. This video walks through what anhedonia actually is, why it usually arrives at the moment your life looks most successful, and why pushing harder is the exact opposite of what your nervous system needs. If you sit through your own life feeling almost nothing, this names what your body is actually doing. Kenny Weiss is the creator of the Worst Day Cycle™, the Authentic Self Cycle™, and the Emotional Authenticity Method™. This teaching maps anhedonia to emotional surgery, dead spots, the survival persona, and the titrated re-entry that brings feeling back online safely. Anhedonia is rarely a chemical deficiency. It is the protective shutdown of an emotional system that has been suppressing for decades. The nervous system pulls the master breaker because feeling anything would force recognition that the constructed adult life was built on not feeling. Anhedonia usually arrives at the moment a person's life looks most successful on paper. The survival persona finally earned everything it was trying to earn, and the body underneath quietly said, we did all of this for love, and the love still has not arrived, so I am turning off the lights. Generic interventions cannot reach anhedonia at the root. Antidepressants take off the edge but do not explain why the lights went out. Forced enjoyment, gratitude journals, and cold plunges ask the system to perform feeling instead of letting it come back online safely on its own pace. The Emotional Authenticity Method™ addresses anhedonia in titrated steps. Its six gentle moves trace the flatness from somatic down-regulation through earliest memory to Feelization, where the body builds a new emotional addiction to being alive instead of to being safe by feeling nothing.
