His work with Amazonian plant dieting traditions radically transformed his life, vision, health, and sense of purpose. Jordan studied under Cocama elder William Llerena Murayari and spent seven years in mentorship with Apache elder Iron Eagle Joe, through whom he received the name Mockingbird and the blessing to teach through ceremony. Jordan describes the Medicine Path as a process of shedding false identities, slowing down, becoming more regulated and embodied, and reconnecting with a deeper sense of soul purpose and personal transformation. Jordan emphasizes somatic knowing, body awareness, breath, fasting, dreams, emotionality, and physical experience as pathways into deeper awareness. We discuss how spiritual awakening can be grounded in the body rather than existing solely as an altered state of consciousness.
