Rena Diana - Line & Pattern

Stones, learning, confidence, pattern and line, expressing beauty, and promoting your work are just a few topics artist Rena Diana covers today. After retiring from a fulfilling career as an educator in Baltimore, Rena started focusing full time on her artwork. She worked every day in a studio at the Art Students League in New York City, where she began painting abstract landscapes. Rena is fortunate to divide her time between Baltimore and her home on Lake Champlain in Vermont, which is the source of much of her inspiration.

Authentic Obsessions

This podcast has been one of my favorites for years. Margret Petrie conducts probing interviews that offer both stimulation and comfort, diving deep into core, universal
issues that all artists face. The notion of the obsession that surfaces as the thread running throughout our work, and thus our very souls, is intriguing. It is an excellent lens through which to understand not only our creative process but also what makes us tick, what ignites us. Margret asks questions that listeners will enjoy considering thoughtfully for themselves as they enjoy these gentle, philosophical, meandering conversations that leave us feeling refreshed, rejuvenated curious, and inspired.

A fabulous source of inspiration

I recently discovered Authentic Obsessions and love the deep dive each episode takes into the work of interesting artists I would likely never discover otherwise. The host asks great questions and leaves lots of room for her guests to answer. I come away with the sense that the world is brighter and that so much more is possible. So much creative inspiration, both general and specific. And I love the unique music. Highly recommend!
