Ep 227 | How To Make Better Business Decisions, Use AI Wisely and Talk to The Right People with Fractional COO Sandra Booker

If you've ever walked away from a mastermind, a coaching call, or a well-meaning conversation with a colleague feeling more confused than when you started — this episode is going to name something you've probably been living with for a long time. It's not that there's too little advice out there. It's that most of us have never stopped to ask whether the advice we're taking is actually right for us, our business, and where we are right now. My guest today is Sandra Booker, founder of Sidekick COO and creator of Scale Society, a fractional COO who works with established online service providers to find the single constraint costing them the most time and money — and then designs the systems and team structures to solve it. Sandra is one of the most well-respected operators in the online business world, and this conversation is exactly as good as I knew it would be. What Sandra and I get into goes way beyond operations and systems. We talk about how to know when you actually need to hire someone versus when you need a better process, the art of pausing before reacting when urgency sets in, and Sandra's concept of "curating your room" — being intentional about whose voices you let influence your decisions, and why the most impressive person in the room isn't always the right one to listen to. Sandra also shares a super cool AI tool that she built and has been using in her own business that I cannot wait for you to hear about — and that I think is going to change how a lot of you are using AI. In this episode we talk about: Why the "self-made" entrepreneur is a myth — and what the business owners who actually build something have in common that nobody talks aboutHow to tell the difference between needing a team member, needing a system, or needing to pause and look at what's already in your businessThe real cost of making decisions from fear, urgency, or comparison — and what to do insteadSandra's concept of curating your room — why your business bestie might be exactly the wrong person to consult when you have a hard decision to makeThe AI tool Sandra built called “The Advisory Board” — and how you can do the same for yourselfWhy the right move in a revenue dip is almost always to look inside your existing business first — and what to look forHow to evaluate advice you're hearing — whether it's from a podcast, a mastermind, or someone making big revenue claims online Your next best business decision is probably not going to come from someone else's strategy. It's going to come from getting clearer on what's actually happening inside your own business — and this episode is going to help you do that! Design the room your decisions deserve with Sandra's AI Boardroom Blueprint. 🔗 Ways to Work With Stacey & Free Resources 💚 1:1 Coaching & Mastermind Book your free Ultimate Impact Blueprint Session to explore private coaching or mastermind support and take your life and business to the next level. 🌟 Passionate & Prosperous Academy Join the Academy for coaching, mentorship, and community designed to help you build and grow a transformational business without ads or complicated funnels—just powerful offers, relationships, and live delivery. 📈 Free Resource: High-Converting Event Playbook Learn how to create masterclasses, workshops, and talks that actually lead to clients (not crickets). 💻 Free Mini-Course: Your Irresistible Signature 1:1 Offer Five simple steps to crafting a premium 1:1 offer your ideal clients are ready to say yes to. 🧘 Passionate & Prosperous Manifestation Toolkit ($47) An exclusive toolkit featuring a 52-card affirmation deck and a guided journal with custom prompts to help you align, manifest, and take intentional action. Ep 226 | 8 Years, 8 Lessons: What It Actually Takes to Build a Sustainable Coaching Business

Join me for a special episode celebrating 8 years in business! When I realized it was 8 years ago this month that I officially started taking clients as a health and life coach, I thought it would be fun to share 8 lessons I've learned — one for each year. In my usual "tell it like it is" style, this is a pretty personal, real, and very behind-the-scenes talk about what it really takes to do this. This one is less about strategy and definitely more about what's underneath it all — the showing up, the relationships, the work, and maybe most importantly, how to stay in it for the long haul. I'm sharing stories from my life and my business — not only what I've learned from this coaching business, but from all of my years as a Broadway performer, a yoga teacher, a yoga studio owner, and all the other jobs I had throughout my years making it in New York City. As I always say, having your own business is not for the faint of heart — but it is absolutely for you if you're willing to do the work. This episode is for every coach, teacher, and service-based business owner who's in it for real. In this episode you'll hear: Why the milestone you just hit is already fading from your memory — and what to do about itThe reframe that changes everything about how you show up for your business every single dayWhat I really mean when I say your business is in a relationship with you — and what it needs from you that you might not be giving itWhy the people around you matter more than any strategy, tool, or platform you could invest inWhat I've learned about putting yourself out there over and over again — even when it doesn't go the way you plannedThe hardest thing about being in service to other people — and how to keep going anywayThe one thing you simply cannot get around if you want clients — and how to figure out what it looks like specifically for you Eight years in this business has taught me that the strategy is the easy part. The real work is everything underneath it — the mindset, the resilience, the relationships, and the willingness to keep showing up even when you don't feel like it. If you're building something of your own, whether you're just starting out or you've been at this for years, I think you're going to find something in this episode that lands for you. This one came straight from the heart. Ep 225 | [Coaching Episode] Taking Jennifer Watson from "I'm Just a Life Coach" to Owning Her Brilliance

Coaching episodes are some of my absolute favorites to record — because what happens in them is so fun - real time transformation and shifts that can only come from a great coaching session. In this episode, you get to be a fly on the wall and experience the magic with us! My guest is Jennifer Watson, a life coach and SoulCollage® facilitator from Rhode Island who came to me after winning a free coaching session as a participation prize at one of my live trainings. She's only recently started coaching in earnest — certified in 2024, officially in practice since August 2025 — and we discovered that she’s actually doing a lot of things right. She’s showing up, talking to people, getting clients. But she was also feeling stuck in a way she couldn't quite name. She knows she’s a good coach. What she couldn't yet do was articulate what made her her kind of coach — and that gap is showing up everywhere: in her messaging, her content, her lead magnet, and her sense of what to do next. What we worked through together was less about tactics and more about identity. Jennifer has an entire coaching philosophy underneath her certification — a background in nonprofit fundraising, a nine-year practice as a SoulCollage® facilitator, a deep belief in the power of creative expression to help people access what's true for them — and she wasn't owning any of it. We got into her Yellow Brick Road (the attract-serve-convert framework I use with all my clients), the difference between attracting the right people and nurturing the ones already on your path, and why staying vague in your messaging isn't "keeping your options open" — it's just keeping your ideal clients from finding you. Reasons to tune in: Why being a "good coach" isn't enough to get clients — and the specific thing that actually isWhat it means to own your methodology, and why your tools, background, and approach are the thing people are really hiring you forThe difference between attracting people and nurturing them — and why confusing the two is the real reason most coaches feel like their marketing isn't workingHow to tell if your lead magnet is pulling in the wrong people at the wrong stage — and what a well-positioned one actually doesWhy staying general in your niche doesn't protect you from losing clients — it just makes you invisible to the right onesWhat Jennifer's early client stories reveal about where coaching clients actually come from (hint: it's not the algorithm)The internal shift that has to happen before any of the strategy will land — and why trusting yourself is the business move no one talks about enough Jennifer left this conversation not with a longer to-do list, but with something clearer and more important: the language to name what she already knows, and the permission to lead with it. If you've ever felt like you know you're good at what you do but still can't quite find the words to make other people feel it — this conversation is going to show you exactly where you might be leaving your own brilliance on the table. Ep 224 | Why Showing Up Is a Muscle — And How to Build It

Showing up is not something that just happens. It's not a personality trait some people have and others don't. It's a muscle — and like any muscle, it has to be trained, worked, and maintained. Not just when you're in crisis, not just when the deadline is breathing down your neck, but every single day, whether things feel easy or hard, whether you're feeling inspired or completely over it. I've been watching this play out in real time with my own clients lately — people who are smart, talented, and deeply committed to their work, and who still find themselves backing out at the last minute, going dark when things get hard, or waiting until they feel ready before they take the next step. And what I keep coming back to is this: the inner work, the nervous system awareness, the mindset shifts, the healing — all of it is real and all of it matters. But none of it does anything without the muscle that makes you actually show up and do the thing. In this episode I'm getting into what I'm calling the show up muscle — what it is, why it's non-negotiable, and what it actually takes to build it. I'm talking about the daily practices that create resilience before you need it, the difference between knowing you should do something and actually doing it, and why at a certain point, healing is a choice. There's also something I want to say about compare and despair, about the "show must go on" mentality that I grew up with, and about why confidence is not something you think your way into — it's something you build by doing the thing you're most afraid to do. Reasons to tune in: Why showing up is a muscle — and why you have to build it before you need it, not just when everything feels like it's falling apartThe difference between doing the inner work and actually moving forward — and how endless healing work can become its own form of staying stuckWhy confidence isn't something you build by thinking about doing the thing — it's built by actually doing it, even when it feels terribleWhat the "show must go on" mentality really means for coaches, creatives, and service-based business ownersWhy the best time to build your practices is when everything is going well — and what my husband, the psychoanalyst, has to say about thatHow to tell the difference between something genuinely dangerous and something your nervous system just wants you to avoidWhy compare and despair is something you manage, not something you cure — and what that management actually looks like in real lifeThe kinds of support only you can give yourself — and the kinds that require other people around you Life is hard. And there is always something you can do about it. This episode is about building the muscle that makes that true. Ep 223 | Why You're Still Afraid to Be Seen (And What Your Nervous System Has To Do With It) with Anna Holtzman

If you've ever talked yourself out of being visible — pulled back from an opportunity, avoided putting something out there, or kept waiting until you felt more ready — you’re going to love this episode. I’m joined by Anna Holtzman, a licensed therapist, coach, and host of the podcast How to Trust Yourself, who works with accomplished women ready to express their voice with clarity and integrity and lead from the inside out. Anna's background spans TV, publishing, and years of nervous system-informed practice that grew out of her own experience with burnout and chronic pain — and what she and I get into in this conversation is something that doesn't get talked about enough in the business world: the nervous system's role in everything we do. What we explore together is why the most sensitive, most gifted people — the coaches, the healers, the creatives — are often the ones most afraid to be seen. It's not because they don't have something important to say — it's because the very openness that makes them extraordinary at their work is the same thing that makes visibility feel genuinely threatening at a biological level. But what makes this conversation extra juicy is how much Anna and I have in common — she brings the therapeutic lens and I bring my yoga perspective — but we both have a deep connection to the somatic, nervous system and inner work that we both love. Together we get to have the kind of conversation that goes beneath the surface of business strategy and into the real, tangible reasons why fear has such profound consequences for how visible you're willing to be, how you talk about your work, and ultimately how much of an impact you make. In this episode we talk about: Why coaches, healers, and creatives are wired for deep vulnerability in their work — and why that same wiring makes visibility feel so much more threatening than it does for othersThe nervous system explanation for why you talk yourself out of putting your work into the world, and why pushing through it without addressing what's underneath rarely works long-termAnna's dialoguing with fear method — and what it actually sounds like to treat your fear like a trusted friend instead of a problem to eliminateThe "readiness" myth: what's really happening when you keep moving the goalpost on when you'll finally feel ready to be seenWhy the moment things start working can feel just as destabilizing as when they're hard — and what that tells you about how your nervous system is wiredHow graded exposure — small, nervous-system-friendly steps forward — creates lasting change without the boomerang effect of going too big too fastThe role of co-regulation and community in making any of this possible, and why they aren't soft extras — they're the actual mechanism through which transformation happens You don't have to get rid of your fear to be visible. You never will. But you can learn to move with it — and this episode is going to show you how! Ep 222: Making Stuff Happen: The Difference Between Big Vision + Right Now Actions

There are two completely different kinds of action in a business — and most people are either mixing them up or don't realize there's a difference at all. There are the actions you take to make money now and get clients. And there are the actions you take to build toward the bigger vision — the life and business you're ultimately working toward. These are not always the same. And confusing them is keeping a lot of people stuck. In this episode, I'm breaking it all down — because the truth is, your business exists to fund your life. Not the other way around. The big vision — the body of work, the lifestyle, the freedom, the health, the version of yourself you're becoming — that's what this is all for. But you cannot start there. You cannot build the dream business model before you have a business that makes money. The money comes first. And that means the actions that get you to money now have to come first too. What I see constantly — with people just starting out and with people who have been building for years — is that they're doing tomorrow's work today. They're taking big vision actions when what they actually need right now is a client and revenue. Or they've been so locked into the immediate hustle that they've never given themselves permission to think about what they're actually building toward. Both are a problem. And this episode is about how to hold both — clearly, intentionally, and in the right order. Reasons to tune in: The difference between Big Vision actions and Immediate Goal actions — and why knowing which one you're taking changes everythingWhy you cannot build your dream business model first — and what you actually have to do before any of that becomes possibleHow to use a four-quadrant framework to map the full picture of what you're working toward: lifestyle, business, health, and identityWhy the right immediate action is almost always simpler than what most people are doing — and what it actually looks likeHow to wake up every morning and know exactly which kind of action belongs in your day This is for you whether you're just getting started or years into building — because the confusion between these two kinds of action doesn't go away on its own. It just gets more expensive. Ep 221 | [Coaching Episode] How to Stop Leaving Money on the Table with Paulette Perhach

There's a story I hear constantly from service-based business owners: I need more leads. More reach. More people. And sometimes that's true. But more often than not, when I start asking questions, I find out the answer isn't out there — it's already inside the business. I was super excited when Paulette Perhach reached out to grab a coaching episode spot on the show. Paulette is an award-winning travel writer and the founder of Powerhouse Writers, a writing coaching business for memoirists, personal essayists, and creative nonfiction writers who have been carrying their stories for years and haven't been able to get them finished or published. She came to this call with a very common desire: to make more money in her business. She'd been investing significant time, energy, and money into her marketing and wasn't getting the traction she'd hoped for. Once we got talking, I discovered that Paulette has a decent-sized email list, a proven offer, powerful testimonials, and clients who get real results. And yet she couldn't quite figure out where the gap was — so she assumed she needed more leads. What we uncovered together is that the answer was already inside her business, and that the launch and conversion strategy she'd been leaning on likely wasn't the right match for the offer she's actually selling. Why you need to listen to this one: Why I told Paulette directly: I don't think you have a reach problem — and what that diagnosis actually means for her businessThe difference between a reach strategy and a conversion strategy, and how to know which one your business actually needs right nowWhy you don't need a massive audience to sell high-ticket — you need the right people and a strategy designed to meet them where they areHow to build a live launch experience that feels generous and valuable but is also intentionally designed to convertThe mindset piece underneath it all: what gets in the way of making your offer with confidence, and how Paulette and I worked through it in real time If you've been spinning your wheels on marketing while the real opportunity is sitting right inside your business — this one's for you. You can connect with Paulette on her website and Instagram. Ep 220 | More Clients = More Conversations: The Law of Client Attraction You're Completely Missing

Most coaches and service-based business owners I talk to say the same thing: I need to figure out client attraction. And I get it — because if you don't have clients, you don't have a business. But here's what I'm seeing over and over again: people are putting almost all of their energy into posting online and wondering why it's not working — while leaving the activities that actually move the needle completely untouched. The truth is that client attraction has a law, and it's simpler than the industry wants you to believe. More clients equals more conversations. Not more posts, not a better content strategy, not a shinier website. Conversations — real ones, with real people — are where clients are actually created. And most people are so focused on what they're putting out online that they're skipping this almost entirely. In this episode I'm breaking down what client attraction actually looks like for coaches, teachers, and service-based business owners selling high-ticket one-on-one or group experiences. I get into why social media is genuinely the longest route to a paying client, what has to be true about someone before they're ever ready to invest, and what it means to be so embodied in your work and your offer that conversations about what you do start to happen naturally — online and off. In this episode you'll hear: Why posting online is the longest route to a client — and what most people are skipping entirely that would actually move the needleWhat has to be true about someone before they're ready to become a paying clientWhy every activity in your business should be designed to start or extend a conversationThe real role of social media, ads, and outside marketing help — and when (and whether) any of it actually makes senseWhat "leave your house" has to do with building a sustainable client base — and why this one shift changes everythingWhy you don't need a website, a big following, or a marketing team to get your next client If you've been pouring energy into your online presence and still waiting for it to translate into paying clients, this episode is going to reframe the whole picture.
