    Forgiveness Is Messy…but It’s Worth It, with Micah Davis

    Micah Davis has more experience with forgiveness than he probably ever wanted to have. The hurtful words spoken over him as a child that stuck with him throughout adolescence, the betrayals by both his father and his godfather, the family secrets that only came to light years later—all of them forced Micah to confront emotional pain at a relatively early age and weigh the cost of reconciliation. Now a pastor and writer based in Indianapolis, Micah has determined that forgiveness, for all its complexity and messiness, is worth it—and he’s expounded on that topic in several books, as well as this week’s episode of The Redeemed Man. Micah and Nate Dewberry unpack the calculus of forgiveness and how admitting our pain is a necessary step in the process; they also discuss the lessons Scripture offers in healing from hurtful words, the challenges of leadership, and how fatherhood can upend the things we think we know about ourselves.     Jason Romano: From ESPN to a Leap of Faith

    For 17 years Jason Romano had what many American men would consider a dream job: working at ESPN producing shows ranging from College Gameday to Monday Night Football broadcasts. So why did he leave it behind to make less money at a startup podcast? For Jason, it was simple: he realized he was drawing too much of his identity from work and not enough from Christ.  Now the host and producer of the “Sports Spectrum” podcast, Jason talks with Nate Dewberry this week about that life change, as well as what started him on a path to discipleship that, nearly two decades later, is ongoing.     Prayer is the bedrock of discipleship; ideally, it’s a daily practice that brings us into a closer relationship with God. Yet it still feels daunting to so many of us.     “I Didn’t Find Him, He Found Me”, with Nebiye Kelile

    Though he’s known as “Pastor Neb” to his congregation at Pathway City Church in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, Nebiye Kelile didn’t always lead a Christ-centered life.     From Maximum Security to the Mayor’s Office with Jermaine Wilson

    From 2019 to 2023, Jermaine Wilson served two terms as mayor of his hometown of Leavenworth, Kansas—an amazing achievement considering that only a decade earlier, he had finished serving several years in prison.     Fishing for Men in a Whole New Way, with Michael Rutherford

    On the surface, Michael Rutherford had the kind of life men fantasize about: a phenomenally successful business that spanned the globe, a jet-setting lifestyle, a beautiful fiancée, a car that cost more than many people’s houses. But when he lost it all in what felt like the blink of an eye, he realized he had no choice but to put what was left of his life in God’s hands. God didn’t restore Michael’s riches, but He offered something Michael appreciates even more—freedom from superficial worries and a sense of true purpose.
