    EP. 250: I Almost Quit My Business — Here's What Happened When I Didn't

At the end of 2025, I was sitting with my expenses, looking at my numbers, and quietly wondering if it was time to close the chapter on this business and go find a job.   My content wasn't performing. Brand deals had dried up. Speaking engagements were gone. And if I'm being honest — I had stopped showing up.   This episode is the behind-the-scenes story of what happened when I decided to go all in on content one more time. No guarantees. No overnight success. Just a decision to show up consistently for six months and see what happened.   And what happened changed everything.   In this episode I share: Why my business nearly fell apart at the end of 2025 — and what I did about it The mindset shift that made the biggest difference in my content The types of content that actually started working for me Why follower count isn't the flex we think it is The real results after 7-8 months of showing up consistently — including followers gained, opportunities that came inbound, and the actual numbers How cutting expenses gave me more breathing room than any launch ever did Why you are the niche — and what that actually means in practice If you've ever felt like nobody cares what you have to say anymore, this episode is for you. If you've been quietly thinking about quitting, this episode is for you. If you're ready to go all in but don't know where to start — keep listening. Want to steal my content strategy? I created a free training on the three mistakes that are keeping your content invisible — and everything I changed that led to these results. 👉 Grab the free training here   Connect with Erika: Instagram: @theerikacruz Website: theerikacruz.com

EP. 249: La Chancla Was Never Ours — Leslie Priscilla on Healing Our Families Through Nonviolent Parenting

La chancla. El cinto. La cuchara. There are memes about them. People wear them like a badge of honor. Like it's just part of who we are. But what if it was never ours to begin with? In this episode, I sit down with Leslie Priscilla — founder of Latinx Parenting, certified parent coach with over 17 years of experience, and author of the brand new book CHANCLA: Healing Our Family, Ourselves, and Our Culture Through Nonviolent Parenting. This conversation broke my brain in the best way possible. We go deep into the history behind chancla culture, how colonization shaped the way we raise our children, and what it actually looks like to break the cycle — for our kids and for ourselves. I also share something personal I wasn't planning to. Something I think a lot of you will recognize in your own bodies. In this episode we cover: What chancla culture is actually rooted in — and why it was never our culture to begin with How colonization shows up in the way we discipline our kids What adult supremacy is and how it shows up in Latine families The needs underneath our children's behavior — and our own What decolonial nonviolent parenting actually looks like in real life Why healing our children starts with healing ourselves Co-parenting, blended families, and keeping kids at the center Pre-order Leslie's book CHANCLA 👇 Get your copy + three exclusive pre-order bonuses including a bundle of affirmations, a special conversation with a surprise guest, and the behavior needs graphic featured in the book. 👉 Pre-order here   Connect with Leslie: Instagram: @latinxparenting Website: latinxparenting.org   Connect with Erika: Instagram: @theerikacruz

EP. 248: This One Thing Dictates Your Entire Life (And No One Talks About It)

Re-released episode from November 2025. I've been talking about personal branding on my Instagram, and something that I noticed is that your personal brand and your self-concept go hand in hand. And as Latinas, our self-concept can be all over the place. We were told to do all the things, get all the degrees, and be as successful as possible, but we were also told to be quiet and be humble. That doesn't make sense, does it?  Our self-concept dictates our entire lives - and nobody talks about it! Our self-concept decides if we are worthy of taking action, accepting incredible opportunities, and putting ourselves out there. I have a ton of clients who rejected their manifestations because they're self-concept was so low. But as a business owner, a content creator, or even just as a person, we cannot keep walking around with a low self-concept. We can change it for the better.  In this week's episode,  I want to talk to you about the difference between your personal brand and your self-concept, and how your self-concept is the direct reflection and the direct mirror of your life. You can have an amazing personal brand, attract incredible opportunities, and still feel like you're not worthy of what you've manifested. Some of my clients have even gone so far as to reject the very things they were manifesting because of their low self-concept. It's ok, we've all been there. But now, it's time to take our lives into our own hands and raise our self-concept to match our manifestations. EP. 247: The Fear of Being Seen Isn't Insecurity — It's Cultural Conditioning

Re-released episode from January 2026. Many of my CDL clients are currently working on their fear of being seen. And as we talk through their feelings, I'm noticing that everyone is saying the same thing. This fear didn't come from them; someone told them to be afraid of being seen.  Now, it's not always in those words. But if you were being told that calladita te ves mas bonita as a kid, you're going to remember that during a brainstorming meeting at work and keep your ideas to yourself. And the blame for that is not necessarily on our parents - the blame is on the culture that perpetuates misogyny in our everyday lives. It's time to let go of what doesn't work for us and start taking our voices back.  In this week's episode, we're talking about the fear of being seen and how it isn't insecurity - it's cultural conditioning. I don't think that you're actually insecure; I think you're holding on to cultural values that are detrimental to the badass c******a you're trying to become. Let's talk about why these values don't work for us, and how to let them go so that you can live your most amazing life! Resources Mentioned: Click here to claim your Manifest Your Marca bot! EP. 244: Giving Myself Permission to Pause (And Why You Should Too)

Three years. Over 243 episodes. Not a single week missed.   Until now.   In this episode, I'm getting real with you about where I am in my business, why I'm taking a break from the podcast this July, and what's been happening behind the scenes — including walking away from a program that made me nearly a million dollars to build something that feels more aligned with who I'm becoming.   Because here's the truth: you can do everything you want to do. Just not all at once. This episode is a reminder that rest is not the opposite of growth. Sometimes the most courageous thing you can do is give yourself permission to pause. In this episode I share: Why I'm taking a break from recording new episodes this July The pivot I've been making in my business and what that's really looked like What I've been building behind the scenes for my clients Why pausing is sometimes the most aligned thing you can do While I'm gone, grab the free training 👇 I hosted a free training last month on my $1.3 million content strategy — and the feedback blew me away. EP. 243: Are You in an Abusive Relationship Without Knowing It? Judy Torres on Domestic Violence in the Latino Community

How many of us have been affected by domestic violence, and we didn't even know it? Honestly, I think almost all of us have. Domestic violence is so prevalent, especially in the Latino community. Almost every person I know has a story or an incident, whether it happened to us personally, to friends, or to a family member. And it continues because of this silence that the Latino community emphasizes to "keep the family together." But no more.    Judy Torres is the Director of Domestic Violence Services at Hispanos Unidos de Buffalo, where she leads programs designed to support, educate, and empower survivors. With 36 years of experience as a 911 dispatcher with the Buffalo Police Department, she brings a wealth of expertise in crisis management to her role. Judy has secured over $800,000 in federal funding to expand services for DV survivors in Buffalo - with which they hired additional advocates and produced enhanced, culturally relevant resources for clients. As a bilingual professional fluent in both English and Spanish, Judy is deeply committed to ensuring that language is never a barrier to accessing support.    In this week's episode, we're answering the question: Are you in an abusive relationship without knowing it? Domestic Violence Program Director Judy Torres joins us on this week's episode to explain the shocking ways domestic violence has been normalized in the Latino community and what survivors can do to get help. There's so much pressure to stay and "keep the family together," but you can't stay in a situation that costs you your well-being, or worse, your life.   Tune in to hear what counts as domestic violence and what resources you and your community can use to get out of a bad situation.  Resources Mentioned: Find resources here at Hispanos Unidos De Buffalo    Follow Judy on:  Instagram:@acacianetwork   How to work with Erika: Join the waitlist for the Magnetic Mastermind program here!
