The Adventure Paradox

Cat Caldwell Myers

Welcome to the show that empowers you to choose your own adventure in motherhood! Your host, Cat Caldwell Myers, certified coach and CEO of The Adventure Paradox, shares minisodes about her work with animals, children, and podcasting itself. When we aren't dropping minisodes, we deliver life changing interviews with special guests. Each conversation will bring you ever closer to the adventure that is seeking you, inside your soul, regardless of your current circumstances (the paradox).  Many have forgotten that the adventure is NOW - wherever we are, whatever is happening, and whoever we do it with, as much as it is all that we have done and all that we will do.  Animals and nature help us do this, as do connecting with teachers and the principles of adventure. We focus on goals and the realities that often keep us from attaining them, learning to master both in the fullness of "THE Adventure Paradox." Entrepreneurial Mothers, Caretakers and Women who crave elevated relationships and love animals and nature, will especially resonate with our message, community and offerings.  We offer writing and podcasting services to teach professionals how to get in to the top 3% of podcasts, publish a bestseller, find their voice and launch their purpose from anywhere in the world.  Please add our show to your library and share a review screenshot with us for a free gift!

Jenny Cornejo on Slowing Down Enough to Hear Yourself

What if life’s hardest transitions are not interruptions… but invitations? In this episode, I sit down with my longtime friend, Jenny Cornejo, founder of Wildflower Transformation, for a conversation that feels both grounding and expansive. Jenny’s work began through organizing physical spaces, but over time she discovered that true transformation often starts beneath the surface. Together, we explore what happens when we stop trying to control the unknown and begin trusting ourselves through change. We talk about life transitions, grief, community, nervous system awareness, ritual, women gathering in circle, and the quiet wisdom that lives in our bodies. Jenny also shares stories from her recent visit to Teton Valley, including riding horses through snow, blessing the land, and reflecting on loss, ancestry, and what it means to stay open to mystery. If you are standing in a threshold season of life, this conversation is a reminder that you do not need to rush through it. In this episode, we explore: Why external organization can reveal internal truthMoving through divorce, grief, and identity shiftsThe role of community and being witnessed in transitionSomatic awareness and reconnecting with your bodyLessons horses can teach us about trust and presenceRitual, circles, and creating belongingWomen, cycles, slowing down, and honoring seasons of lifeFinding magic in the unknownConnect with Jenny:  Website: Wildflower Transformation Instagram: @wildflower.transformation Facebook: Wildflower Transformation Facebook Digital Card: Jenny Cornejo Digital Card If this episode spoke to you, share it with someone walking through change and remind them they do not have to navigate it alone. Margot Machol Bisnow on Raising Children Who Trust Themselves

As a parent, mentor, or simply someone who cares about helping others grow, it's easy to wonder what truly shapes a person's future. In this episode, I sit down with Margot Machol Bisnow, author of Raising an Entrepreneur, to talk about what she learned after interviewing entrepreneurs from all walks of life. Her biggest takeaway? Success isn't about perfect grades or following a traditional path. It's about having someone who believes in you, encourages your passions, and helps you learn from failure. What I loved most about this conversation is that it isn't really about raising entrepreneurs. It's about raising people who are confident enough to trust themselves, resilient enough to adapt when life doesn't go as planned, and courageous enough to pursue what truly lights them up. We also explore how parents can shift from trying to create the "perfect" path to helping their children discover their own. Margot shares why embracing mistakes, finding meaningful mentors, and creating a supportive family environment can have a lasting impact long into adulthood. Whether you're raising children or reflecting on your own journey, I hope this conversation reminds you that sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone is the confidence to become who they were meant to be. In this episode, we discuss: Why believing in your child matters more than having all the answersHow passion helps build confidence and resilienceWhy failure is an important part of growthThe role mentors and supportive families play in a child's futureHow to encourage children to follow their own path with purposeConnect with Margot: Website: https://raisinganentrepreneur.com/Order Raising an Entrepreneur: https://a.co/d/0dGoUnnuInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/margotbisnow/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/margot-machol-bisnow-a29550b5/Adventure on! Sometimes You Just Need a New Perspective

Sometimes the adventure is not about going somewhere new. Sometimes it is about being willing to see something differently. This summer has brought me a lot of change, from moving to Wyoming and starting a new chapter with our animals and our new health barn, to simply noticing how much freedom can come from letting go of old identities. Even something as simple as cutting my hair became a reminder that we are allowed to try on something new, release what no longer fits, and make room for new growth. In this episode, I also share a story from my little corner of Idaho and Wyoming that got me thinking about something much bigger: how quickly we can fall into opposing sides, how easily we can be manipulated by clickbait and our own beliefs, and what happens when we forget there is a whole world beyond the two boxes we're being asked to choose from. I talk about staying curious, finding humor in ourselves, letting go of rigid labels, and remembering that underneath our beliefs, opinions, roles, and identities, we are all still human. And maybe the adventure is learning how to stay connected to that truth, even when things get uncomfortable. A few things to take with you: What identity or belief might you be ready to loosen your grip on?Where might you be seeing a situation as only one side or the other? What would change if you paused before reacting to something designed to trigger you?Can you find a little more curiosity, compassion, or even laughter in a difficult situation?Try something new this week. A new haircut, a new perspective, a new attitude, or simply a new way of seeing yourself. Most of all, remember that you do not have to wait for the perfect circumstances to experience the adventure. It is already happening, right here, right now. Azdean Elmoustaquim Sharing the Heart of Morocco Through Adventure

Some adventures do not shout. They invite. This conversation felt like that. A gentle reminder that travel can soften us, wake us up, and bring us back to what really matters. Azdean Elmoustaquim joins me from his lived experience between Morocco and the United States, sharing how culture, language, family roots, and intentional travel can reconnect us to ourselves right where we are. Azdean is the founder and chief travel planner of Destinations Morocco. What began as a desire to help his son stay connected to his heritage became a calling to design deeply personal journeys through Morocco. We talk about growing up Moroccan, living in Houston, and how understanding both cultures allows him to guide travelers with care, safety, and heart. From the winding medinas to desert camel rides, from language tips to invisible systems of safety, this episode is about trust, awareness, and choosing the road that changes you. If you love meaningful adventure, nature, animals, culture, and experiences that meet you where you are, this one is for you.Takeaways • How culture and language deepen travel experiences • Why customized journeys matter more than checking boxes • What safety really looks like for women and solo travelers • The difference between the fast road and the scenic one • How desert silence and local connection can shift perspective Links and resources Website: https://www.destinationsmorocco.comPodcast: Destination Morocco: https://www.destinationmoroccopodcast.com/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@destinationsmoroccoInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/destinationmorocco/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/destinamorocco/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/azdean/Send us Fan Mail Support the show ✨ Join the Spiritual Horse Seeker Summit 👉 Go here to HEAR my Tedx talk  ✨ Order Wings of Purpose — now available on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GYL381CS 👉 Book Launch Party, June 27th in Jackson Hole, WY: https://butterflymarch.com/ 🔥 Ever thought about how you can incorporate your love of horses in to your work as a mom, coach, teacher, facilitator or business owner? Leah Ellis on When Children Become Leaders and Problem Solvers

Children are naturally curious, creative, and willing to try things many adults hesitate to attempt. When we give them space to explore ideas, incredible things can happen. In this conversation, I speak with Leah Ellis, founder of the Society of Child Entrepreneurs, a nonprofit helping kids ages six to seventeen build confidence, leadership, and real world business skills through hands on entrepreneurship. Inspired by her daughter starting a business at four, Leah created a program where children learn to spot problems, create solutions, and turn their ideas into real businesses. We also talk about her work advocating for lemonade stand laws that remove barriers so kids can safely run small businesses and gain real world experience. Her mission is simple. Kids are capable of leadership right now. In this episode • Why ages eight to twelve are a powerful window for entrepreneurship  • The difference between child labor and child entrepreneurship  • How kids learn resilience by failing forward  • Teaching financial literacy and leadership early  • Why problem spotting is the heart of entrepreneurship Leah leaves us with this challenge: “Ask your kids how in this specific way. Ask your kids something they’ve noticed that they wish they could change. Then ask them how they would change it, because I bet they already have an idea. If you ask how enough times, you can build a business. So go ask your kids how and let them start a business.” Links and Resources SoCE HubWebsiteSociety of Child EntrepreneursInstagramFacebookAdventure on! Julia Carpenter on When Horses Become Our Greatest Teachers

What if your horse is responding less to what you say and more to who you are being? In this thoughtful conversation, I sit down with Julia Carpenter, founder of The Two Step Way, to explore what becomes possible when we slow down enough to truly see the being in front of us. Julia shares how horses reflect our nervous systems, why presence matters more than performance, and how healing often begins not with fixing, but with noticing. We talk about somatic healing, trauma stored in the body, the relationship between science and spirituality, and the quiet intelligence animals offer when we create enough space to listen. This conversation moved far beyond horsemanship. It became an invitation to reconnect with ourselves, soften our need to control, and remember that wonder still belongs in our lives. We also explore:  What “See the Being™” really meansHow horses read our nervous systemsTrauma, freeze states, and healing through safetyWhy slowing down can transform connectionThe overlap between science, intuition, and somatic awarenessHow technology may be disconnecting us from presenceJulia’s powerful story of Magneto and the horse who changed her lifeIf you’ve ever felt like your horse was trying to tell you something… or like life itself keeps offering lessons you’re meant to notice… this episode is for you.
