Breaking News? The Rest of Love Is Blind Boston

What happens when the couple that never made it to the wedding turns out to be the healthiest one on the show? We went through the rest of Love Is Blind Boston, and the cracks are everywhere. After whiffing hard on Rob and Michaella, we came back to sort through the rest of the Boston cast before the weddings. The biggest surprise is Jax and Stew, two people who are not together and probably never will be, but who came out looking like the most functional pair of the season. Stew handled it like an adult. We ended up rooting for them, which is strange because they are not a couple at all. The rest is messier. Blake wants the fantasy of marriage without doing the math on being an older dad, or thinking through what life looks like for Erika alone on Saint Thomas for weeks at a time. His friends flew in and basically told her to run. Sarah and John struggle over cleanliness and the mental load, a conversation that does not seem to be clicking for John. The Willys keep circling the same fight, with him talking about chores while Wilnie asks to feel wanted. And Aneha and Cam are stuck on money, kids and the apartment, with Cam looking more checked out by the minute. We also hit the editing this season, which wrote Benita out and left too much on the floor. Must-Hear Moments: - Blake cannot do basic age math on being an older dad, and his face when Erika spells it out says everything. - Blake's friends warn Erika about hurricanes, the cost of travel and quarantined dogs. We could not tell if they were protecting him or saving her. - John jokes that women are natural nesters, which finally pushes Sarah to explain the mental load. - Wilson's whole vocabulary gets boiled down to "chill" and "facts" while Wilnie keeps asking to feel desired. We pitched a plushie. - What we think each couple does at the altar. Love Is Blind Boston: We Were Way Wrong About Rob

Our last short called Michaella and Rob the strongest couple this season. We need to take that back. We recorded this one live. Rob's family scenes made him look grounded, and then his friends showed up and the whole picture changed. We go through the bar scene with Rob's friend Jay, who spends the night firing crude questions at Michaella the first time they meet, and we ask why Rob never stepped in. From there it only builds: Rob yelling at production, the pod squad party, the Diana conversation, his jealousy over Matt the beekeeper, and the breakup, after which he packs up and leaves for Rhode Island. We also talk about what he has been through. Grief is real and we feel for him, and a dating show is still not the place to work through it. Through all of it we keep coming back to Michaella, who handled it with far more grace than anyone owed her. She loves him. She also says she cannot marry him. We think she is right. The other couples are coming next time. Must-Hear Moments: - "Chris, hold my beer bro." How Rob topped last season's Chris, and then topped himself. - Jay tells Michaella her answer sounds AI generated, and we wonder how long he had that line ready. - "If you're cut off, I'm cut off." Rob turns on production when the bar stops serving Jay. - Why a man who keeps announcing how little he cares must care quite a lot. Love Is Blind Boston: Out of the Pods

What happens when the pods close and real life opens? For most of Boston's six couples, the foundation starts cracking before anyone unpacks a bag. Neil and Shelly are back for the second batch of Love Is Blind Boston, and this time the romance meets reality. Moving in, meeting friends, meeting families. The hosts work through all six engaged couples with their usual mix of empathy and side-eye. Neil leans into the comedy, accusing half the cast of being potential murderers and comparing Stew to a man who narrated his own audiobook. Shelly does the emotional read, naming what people actually want underneath the arguments. Together they land on the real theme of these episodes: you can accept someone, but can you accept the life that comes with them? Jax and Stew's reunion goes nowhere, with Shelly pointing out that Jax never quite says no. Sarah and John keep collecting yellow flags, from the abortion debate to John's temper. The Willys get the hardest look, with Shelly arguing Wilnie just wants to feel loved through acts of service while Neil flags Wilson's "first time I've ever opened up" as a run-now red flag. Aneha and Cam unravel fast, and Shelly floats that Aneha might be self-sabotaging to escape a family that won't bless the marriage. Blake wants twelve months at sea, Erika has an actual life. Only Rob and Michaella come out looking steady. The hosts close with rankings, and the gap between first place and everyone else is wide. Must-Hear Moments: - John wears Sarah's shirt to the Mexico gathering, and the hosts cannot figure out why. "Release the footage, Netflix." A small thing that opens a bigger question about who this guy actually is. - The light switch test with Cam, where even Neil and Shelly can't agree on whether he passed or failed. Their conclusion: if you need tests, you are already doing it wrong. - Shelly reframes the entire Willys conflict around love languages, while Neil roasts Wilson for calling his emotional breakthrough "dope." - Erika plans to consult a dog communicator about whether her dogs want to live on Blake's boat. One dog wanted pizza, the other wanted ice cream, so clearly the science checks out. - Neil's full pirate theory on Blake, complete with a prediction that a Reddit story is coming, and a warning that he will run off with half your booty. --- Join the Conversation: Drop your thoughts in the comments, this conversation is just getting started. 🎙️ Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/is-love-blind/id1681899082 🟢 Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/0d05pRTwu3IXmJddyiXXq7?si=593291a18d9e46ce 📺 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@isloveblindpodcast 📸 Instagram https://www.instagram.com/isloveblindpodcast 🎵 TikTok @isloveblindtiktok Have a dating story or a question for the next episode? Love Is Blind Boston: The Pods

Six couples got engaged in Boston. Neil and Shelly found maybe one and a half worth rooting for. The rest? Run for the hills. Season 11 drops the pods in Boston, and Neil and Shelly spend the whole episode trying to find a single couple that should actually get married. Neil keeps circling back to the same grim math: the dating pool is polluted, the men are a parade of red flags, and the women keep settling for less than they deserve. Shelly plays the slightly more generous read, giving people the benefit of the doubt on comfort, culture, and chemistry, while Neil swings between genuine concern and full comic meltdown. Together they size up Jax and Stew, Sarah and John, Michaella and Rob, Erika and Blake, Wilnie and Wilson, and Aneha and Cam, plus the extra love interests orbiting each one. The real texture here is the gap between what looks perfect and what actually works. Jax and Stew seemed like a flawless match of trophy wife and old money, until she bolted at the first helicopter brag. John and Sarah can have a calm conversation about abortion and vaccines, but Shelly thinks that calm is John dodging, not agreeing. Blake the sailor promises a life at sea on a four figure bank balance. Through it all Neil lands on his core theory: people only change about 10 percent, so if you are too far apart on the big stuff, it does not hold. The two hosts split on Wilnie and Wilson versus Aneha and Cam for best shot, which tells you how thin the good options really are. Must-Hear Moments: - Jax lights up over a wedding helicopter, then hits the brakes the second Stew opens his mouth. Neil breaks down why a guy who has never said I love you sets off every alarm. - The "psychopath eyes" debate on Stew. Neil admits he missed it at first, rewatched, and came away genuinely unsettled .- Blake claims he has "thousands" in the bank. Neil tears into the math on a captain who spends nothing yet somehow cannot save for a house. - Rob's first impression of Michaella is calling her a dud for being career focused. Shelly predicts he becomes the Chris of the season. - Aneha's slow pace on physical affection splits the hosts. Neil reads a possible red flag, Shelly argues it is comfort and culture, not a dealbreaker. Love is Blind UK - Season 3 - Weddings and Reunion

The weddings and the reunion, all in one go. Neil and Shelly went in expecting the usual chaos and came out genuinely underwhelmed, which turned into a better conversation than the drama would have. Full spoilers for the back half of Love Is Blind UK season 3. Shelly's opening position is that this was anticlimactic. Nobody blew up, nobody stormed out, and the reunion had none of the score settling the American version runs on. Neil's read is more suspicious than disappointed. Sammy said, close to a direct quote, that none of the other couples lasted more than a day. So how did the producers land on five that made it to the altar? Either the casting is unnervingly good, or the couples who were not going to be interesting got quietly cut before anyone saw them. Then it goes couple by couple. Ryan and Cuba is where the standout moment lives. She is visibly upset in the middle of a breakup, and his response is to go cut himself a mango, offer her some, and eat it. Yasmin and Jordan turns into the sharpest advice in the episode, because Jordan keeps describing what she does for him and it sounds a lot less like a partner and a lot more like unpaid therapy. Sophie and Taylor got the predictable ending, though her dad said out loud what everyone was already thinking about the timeline. Ciara and Ajay get the most rethinking. Neil has spent two episodes calling her materialistic and lands somewhere more forgiving, partly on the brat theory and partly because the smartest thing either of them did was vanish to Melbourne for six months with no cameras. Francesca and Joseph got married and remain, by both hosts' assessment, hard to know, because every scene they were in belonged to somebody else's drama. And Jack does the one thing that ends any argument about whether he was serious, which is turn off his location. Moments worth staying for: The mango. She is crying about the breakup and he cuts fruit. "Are you sure you don't just need a therapist?" On Jordan describing what Yasmin does for him. None of the cut couples lasted more than a day, and what that says about how this show is really assembled. Six months in Melbourne with no cameras, and why that was the best decision anyone made this season. Turning off Find My Friends is not a neutral act, and nobody believed it was. They close on wanting Jimmy from the American version airlifted onto UK Traitors, which remains the best idea this podcast has had. Chapters: 0:00 Underwhelmed by the weddings 3:50 Sammy, the cut couples, and Ryan and Cuba 14:36 He ate a mango mid-breakup 20:33 Yasmin and Jordan 23:43 She is not your therapist 30:04 Sophie and Taylor 31:19 Her dad said it was too fast 36:55 The brat theory 42:14 Six months in Melbourne 44:10 Francesca and Joseph 48:01 Jack and Faye 54:15 He turned off his location 56:36 Overall season verdict Is Love Blind is a reality dating podcast hosted by Neil and Shelly, covering Love Is Blind UK, US, and whatever else the genre throws at us. Love is Blind UK - Season 3 - The Couples

Netflix dropped the rest of Love Is Blind UK season three in one go, so we went through episodes three to eight couple by couple. The wedding episodes are not covered here, those are next. Full spoilers throughout for everything up to the weddings. This is Shelly's first non-American reality show, and the thing that threw her is how calm it is. She kept waiting for someone to fly into a rage and nobody did. People disagree, get upset, and then land on some version of we can agree to disagree and move on. No yelling, no drinks thrown. Neil's counterpoint runs through the whole episode. He thinks the UK version is just as toxic, only quieter. Nobody is having the real conversation. What you get instead is the backhanded compliment, the subtle undermining, the thing said politely that would start a fight if anyone said it plainly. Calm is not the same as healthy. Then we go couple by couple. Sophie and Taylor stay the boring golden couple, and the running joke about him being the number one tour guide in London does not get old. Yasmin and Jordan is where it turns uncomfortable, because he cancelled the wedding without ever saying he did not want her, and we both think that is worse rather than kinder. Ciara and Ajay is the money argument again, this time about what her minimum expectation for a first date actually tells you, and Neil ends up admitting Ajay is doing the small things right. Ryan and Cuba produces the sharpest read of the night: Ryan explains he needs days to recover after performing, and Neil points out that Cirque du Soleil does it seven nights a week in Vegas. Jack and Faye is the disaster, and it is worth the wait. The Find My Friends explanation, the walk that somehow needed an Uber home, and a phone he would not let her look at. Neil lays out how you know when someone is lying, which is that the story makes no logical sense and they keep telling it anyway. Joseph and Francesca closes things out with the messiest scene of the season and a piece of advice worth more than the episode: if you are trying to logic someone into liking you, you have already lost. Chapters: 0:00 Eight episodes, and nobody throws a drink 7:28 Sophie and Taylor 12:07 Yasmin and Jordan 20:14 He cancelled the wedding, not the relationship 25:07 Ciara and Ajay 27:29 Her minimum for a first date 35:27 He makes her coffee every morning 39:14 Ryan and Cuba 40:43 Cirque du Soleil works seven nights a week 51:04 Narcissists latch onto spirituality 54:38 Jack and Faye 57:46 It is called going off grid 61:08 The gym story nobody believed 72:03 Joseph and Francesca 74:26 Do not logic someone into liking you 81:46 What we are covering next Coming up: the wedding episodes, then a reunion, then Love Is Blind US in October. Love is Blind UK - Season 3 - The Pods

Netflix dropped eight episodes of Love Is Blind UK season three at once, so we turned around the pods in a couple of days. Heads up: full spoilers for episodes one to four throughout. This season plays differently, and it took us most of the episode to work out why. Nobody throws a drink. Nobody is a straightforward villain. We kept waiting for the usual reality TV detonation and it never arrived. Neil's theory is that the UK version is still on its season three arc, the same place the American show sat before it learned to milk the format. Shelly thinks the British cast is simply calmer. Either way the drama has to come from people genuinely being difficult, rather than from producers pushing them into it. Then we go couple by couple. Sophie and Taylor got engaged in episode two and never looked at anyone else, which makes them the boring golden couple and probably the safest bet on the board. Jordan and Yasmin are the other contender, and Neil has one reservation about a first serious relationship running straight into an engagement. Cuba and Ryan have almost too much in common, both deep in the spiritual scene, and we cannot decide whether that is compatibility or a warning sign. Francesca and Joseph got where they are through Chevanique, who fought for him after he had already chosen. The money argument is where we split. Ciara is direct about what she expects a partner to spend. Ajay was equally direct that he has left a finance job and does not yet know what is next. Shelly hears two people being honest with each other and choosing to stay anyway. Neil keeps returning to what she offers in return, and does not accept being pretty as the answer. We do not resolve it, and we are not pretending to. Most of the back half is Jack. Neil describes him as weaponized ADHD, then immediately turns it on himself, because he has it too and does not think it excuses any of this. Jack decided Ciara was his number one, heard what he wanted to hear when she was careful not to say it, then wrote a poem for Faye the same night. At one point he called her Fran, and neither of us is confident he knows there is a Francesca on the show. And then he showed up to meet his fiancee in an untucked polo shirt. Chapters: 0:00 Eight episodes dropped at once 1:29 Why the UK season feels calmer 2:27 Half these guys look like the same person 4:30 Accents we cannot place 6:36 The cast who never made the show 9:01 Still early enough to stay classy 10:19 Sophie and Taylor, the golden couple 12:24 Jordan and Yasmin 14:08 Getting engaged with no dating history 18:52 The only smart way to do this show 19:41 Nick and Vanessa versus the UK hosts 23:40 Ciara and Ajay 26:08 What does Ciara bring to the table 28:16 She is lying about being fine with it 32:43 Jack is weaponized ADHD 33:48 The poem he wrote for Faye instead 38:26 Did he just call her Fran 41:58 He is going to cheat 42:45 Chefs do not make money 46:07 Jack won the lottery with Faye 48:11 The untucked polo proposal 53:32 Where Ciara and Ajay land 54:51 Cuba and Ryan, the anti Jack 58:14 Francesca, Joseph, and Chevanique 63:09 The wow reaction 64:20 We need Jimmy in England 67:12 The mini fan moment 68:41 What we are covering next Is Love Blind? is Neil and Shelly talking through dating reality television, week by week. Perfect Match - Season 4 - Is Love Blind? Podcast

The grand prize for finding your perfect match on Netflix is another vacation. That is it. So why does everyone act like their life depends on it?Neil and Shelly take on all of Perfect Match Season 4, every couple, in one go. The setup is simple. Gather a pile of Netflix reality stars, pretend they might fall in love, and watch them swap partners the second the cameras cut. Neil calls it popcorn trash, and he means it as a fact, not an insult. Nobody stays eliminated. People fall off the cliff at the end of an episode and stroll back in the next morning like nothing happened. Shelly compares it to a comic book. Neil goes with South Park and Kenny. Either way, gone does not mean gone here. The real centerpiece is Jimmy. Shelly and Neil circle him for a while because they cannot understand how a guy who keeps saying "no rules" and "I want to keep my options open" ends up winning anyone back. Neil frames it perfectly. What Jimmy means and what Ali hears are two different things. She hears freedom. He hears betrayal the moment she uses it. Then Hashim shows up, Ivy League, locked in, seemingly the whole package, and Jimmy throws a fit, walks out, and comes right back the next morning. Shelly keeps pointing out the obvious. Ali just wanted a little reassurance. Jimmy could not manage it. The two also break down Chris and his multi-thousand dollar Gucci bag ready for any girl who matched, Natalie and Yeaman gossiping in the corner like the Muppet balcony hecklers, and why sweet Mackenzie was too Minnesota for a show like this.Must-Hear Moments:- "What if they just get a week extension at the same amazing resort." Neil and Shelly realize the prize is basically nothing, and it only gets funnier from there.- Chris shows up night one with a designer clutch ready to hand off. Not to anyone specific. Just whoever matches. The hosts cannot get over the planning involved.- Natalie and Yeaman get named Statler and Waldorf, two people who figured out love day one and quietly judge everyone else.- The Jimmy versus Hashim breakdown, where Neil asks how Jimmy has a hold on anybody while Hashim is right there.- Neil's story about a valet friend who scratched every car and gave out the wrong keys, the perfect stand-in for Jimmy's total lack of self-awareness.
