What would the world look like as a matriarchy? Today on Why Isn’t Everyone Doing This? We’re launching Part 3 of the Priestess Pilgrimage and taking you on Emily and Layla’s journey through Crete - one of the last matriarchal societies.

(ICYMI: Emily and Layla Martin took a recent trip through Greece where they traveled to sacred sites where high priestesses were serving medicine and practicing sacred sexuality rituals that helped to form the very fabric of Western society. Catch up on Parts 1 and 2 at the links below.

While in other ancient cities, the priestesses were consulted by sovereigns and people in leadership, in Crete the high priestesses WERE the sovereigns. Layla walks us through the migration of our ancient ancestors from ancient Turkey and the Middle East who had worshiped the Goddess and has deep reverence for feminine expressions of marriage, childbirth, fertility and sexuality.

Layla and Emily also give practical ways to start with a psychedelic journey if that feels charming, including why it’s integral to be led by a therapist or an experienced guide who can help you move through the full spectrum of your human emotions. Discover how you can  prepare your body, heart and soul to experience these initiations if and when you feel ready.

Plus, they define Kundalini energy and why so many ancient depictions of women in Ancient Greece are shown with snakes.

So why isn’t everyone turning up the dial on their own divinity? Discover the reason in this week’s episode.

Using Psychedelics to Tap into the Divine | Priestess Pilgrimage Part 1 | EP 19

Using Psychedelics to Tap into the Divine | Priestess Pilgrimage Part 1 | EP 19

Today we’re kicking off a 4-part series with return guest Layla Martin, where they will take you through their recent Priestess Pilgrimage through Greece. Together, they traveled to several sacred sites to have a visceral experience of the very same places where priestesses were serving medicine and practicing sacred sexuality rituals that helped to form the very fabric of Western society. Things like democracy, theater, even religion.

In Part 1 they discuss what it means to be a high priestess, and why reclaiming words like “witch” and “priestess” empower people to connect with their own divinity. They also introduce the religion that has no name – something that humans have been practicing for millenia in order to connect with God through Nature, plants, animals, their own bodies, dance, music, medicines, breath, trance and meditation.

Layla and Emily also give a history lesson on why people used to travel to Eleusis to change their perception of death and the afterlife. Plus, they explore why it’s so hard to control people who have access to psychedelics and modalities such as breathwork, yoga, meditation and sacred sexuality.

So why isn’t everyone using psychedelics to tap into the divine? Discover the reason in this week’s episode of Why Isn’t Everyone Doing This?

Catch Part 2 of the Priestess Pilgrimage this Sunday, Oct 24 over on Layla’s podcast, This Tantric Life.
