Eric Weigel | What's Really in Your Supplements? Quality, Gut Health & Wellness

Send us Fan Mail Do you really know what's in the supplements you're taking? With thousands of vitamins and supplements on the market, how do you know which ones are worth your money, which ones actually contain what they claim, and whether you even need them? This week on the MY FIT TRIBE Podcast, I sit down with Eric Weigel of Ortho Molecular Products, a Wisconsin-based company specializing in professional-grade nutritional supplements. With a PhD in exercise physiology and a background in strength and conditioning, Eric brings a wealth of knowledge about nutrition, recovery, and the science behind supplements. We explore what separates professional-grade supplements from many over-the-counter products, why manufacturing standards matter, and the risks of purchasing supplements from unauthorized third-party sellers. But this conversation goes well beyond what's inside the bottle. We discuss the growing role of functional and integrative medicine, how gut health affects overall wellness, and why supplements should support—not replace—healthy lifestyle choices. In this episode, we discuss: What makes a quality supplement and why manufacturing standards matterThe risks of counterfeit supplements and misleading product labelsGut health, inflammation, and nutrient absorptionVitamin D and its role in overall healthHow sleep consistency affects recovery and physical performanceThe role of supplements in functional and integrative medicineNutritional considerations for individuals using GLP-1 medicationsWhy more supplements aren't necessarily betterThe importance of advocating for your health and working with a knowledgeable providerEric also shares insights from his doctoral research on sleep and athletic performance, along with his experience educating healthcare providers throughout Wisconsin. One of the biggest takeaways? Supplements are exactly that—supplemental. Nutrition, exercise, sleep, and healthy daily habits remain the foundation. This week's actionable step: Start with the basics. Prioritize consistent sleep and daily movement. Even a short walk after a meal is a simple place to begin. If you're currently taking supplements, review what you're using and discuss their quality, dosage, and necessity with your healthcare provider. Amanda Braverman-Brone | Finding Your Purpose: Advocacy, Confidence & Impact

Send us Fan Mail What happens when you stop waiting for the perfect time and start pursuing what matters most to you? This week on the MY FIT TRIBE Podcast, I sit down with Amanda Braverman-Brone, founder and executive director of the Moving Forward Foundation, maternal and infant health advocate, and United States of America's Miss Dane County 2026. Amanda's journey into advocacy began with a frightening experience during her second pregnancy. After noticing a change in her baby's movements, she ultimately underwent an emergency C-section that saved her son's life. That experience inspired nearly two decades of work educating families about fetal movement awareness and stillbirth prevention. Today, through the Moving Forward Foundation, Amanda is expanding her mission to support expectant mothers, healthcare providers, and families navigating pregnancy and postpartum care. But Amanda's story doesn't stop there. At 45, she decided to challenge herself in an entirely new way by entering the world of pageantry. What began as an opportunity for personal growth has become another platform for service, confidence, and community impact. In this episode, we discuss: Fetal movement awareness and the importance of speaking up during pregnancyThe mission behind the Moving Forward FoundationMaternal mental health and the need for postpartum supportWhy asking for help and accepting support mattersChallenging expectations and finding confidence in midlifeHow pageantry became a platform for advocacy and personal developmentThe power of volunteering and creating an impact you may never seeWhy it's never too late to pursue something meaningfulAmanda reminds us that we don't have to wait until everything is perfect to begin. Whether it's advocating for your health, volunteering in your community, or trying something that feels completely outside your comfort zone, opportunities for growth are all around us. This week's actionable step: Today's the day! Think of something you've wanted to try, learn, or pursue but haven't started. Take one step toward it today. If you're searching for purpose, consider getting involved in your community through volunteering. As Amanda says, "Life is long. So fill it up." Katie Hardie | Work With Your Body, Not Against It: Nutrition, Stress & Performance

Send us Fan Mail What if the key to performing at your best isn't doing more, but learning when to slow down? This week on the MY FIT TRIBE Podcast, I sit down with Katie Hardie, founder of My Peak, to explore the connection between nutrition, stress, nervous system regulation, and overall well-being. Katie brings a unique perspective through her background in sport and performance psychology, holistic nutrition, and executive coaching. She also shares how a devastating personal loss changed the direction of her life and opened her mind to a more holistic approach to health. We discuss why traditional nutrition advice doesn't work for everyone, the importance of understanding your body's signals, and how chronic stress can affect everything from digestion and energy to sleep and performance. We also explore the challenge of slowing down, especially for those of us who are accustomed to constantly pushing forward. Katie introduces tools like HeartMath and qigong, along with the value of incorporating small recovery breaks throughout the day. In this episode, we discuss: Why nutrition should be individualized rather than one-size-fits-allThe connection between gut health, digestion, and stressHow nervous system regulation can improve recovery and performanceWhy high achievers often struggle to slow downCombining Eastern and Western approaches to wellnessLearning to recognize and respond to your body's signalsThis week's actionable takeaway: Taking care of yourself isn't a luxury. Ali Christos- The Path Within- Self discovery through Meditation

Send us Fan Mail What if the answers you're searching for aren't somewhere out in the world, but already within you? This week on the MY FIT TRIBE Podcast, I sit down with Ali Christos, a quantum healing hypnosis practitioner, spiritual guide, and educator whose journey from a successful real estate career to spiritual exploration is a powerful example of how our lives can change when we begin questioning what truly matters. After more than 15 years in New York City real estate, Ali had achieved many of the traditional measures of success. But behind the accomplishments were stress, perfectionism, and a constant pursuit of the next milestone. A serious car accident, a difficult recovery, and other life-changing experiences led him to reconsider his priorities and begin a journey of meditation, yoga, and self-discovery. Today, Ali works with individuals exploring their subconscious beliefs, emotional patterns, and personal growth through quantum healing hypnosis and spiritual coaching. In this episode, we discuss: Why professional success doesn't always lead to personal fulfillmentHow difficult experiences can change our priorities and direction in lifeThe importance of trusting yourself and being open to unexpected opportunitiesWhy meditation isn't about stopping your thoughtsHow meditation can help you recognize patterns, reactions, and habitsPractical ways to begin a meditation practice, even with a busy mindCreating an environment that supports consistency and personal growthThe difference between meditation and quantum healing hypnosisAli's perspective on the subconscious mind, intuition, and spiritual explorationThe relationship between service, purpose, and creating a meaningful impactOne of my favorite parts of this conversation is our discussion about meditation. Like many people, I've struggled with slowing down long enough to establish a consistent practice. Ali explains that meditation isn't about achieving a perfectly quiet mind. It's about developing awareness and creating space between what happens to us and how we choose to respond. We also explore quantum healing hypnosis, a practice inspired by the work of Dolores Cannon. Ali shares how he uses hypnosis to help clients explore personal experiences, beliefs, and emotional patterns, along with the spiritual interpretations that inform his work. Throughout our conversation, we return to a familiar MY FIT TRIBE theme: finding the courage to follow a path that feels meaningful, even when it looks different from the life we've already built. This week's actionable step: Give yourself five minutes of quiet time. Find a comfortable place where you're unlikely to be interrupted, put your phone away, and simply sit with your thoughts. Don't worry about doing it perfectly. Start building the habit, and consider how you can create an environment that makes it easier to continue. As Ali reminds us: "Meditation isn't about quieting the mind, it's about no longer being controlled by it."
