Ep 41: Overrated Exercises (In Personal Training Sessions) And What To Do Instead

What do you think is the most overrated and underrated exercise in the context of a personal training session?   In this episode of the Sorta Healthy Personal Trainers Podcast Alexis and I are breaking down overrated exercises in the context of a personal training session. Many personal trainers assume because an exercise is the best choice for them, that they should also have their clients do those same exercises.   Unfortunately, that is often times not the best choice. Most personal trainers are intermediate to advanced lifters. You most likely got into personal training because you have a passion for exercise. Most personal training clients are the exact opposite. While movement patterns are likely still going to be similar between you and your clients workouts, your actual move selection should be pretty different.    Of course, we break down exactly what we mean by that in the episode. Don't fall into the new personal trainer trap! You are not your clients!   If any of you have any questions or comments, let us know in the comments! Ep 39: Is This $4,788 Nutrition Certification Worth It? Precision Nutrition Level 2 Review

*For those interested... $100 off Precision Nutrition Level 2 here: https://get.pn/r/cVoIAbnVEe $50 off Precision Nutrition Level 1 here: https://get.pn/r/B57PcKe7SA           Is the Precision Nutrition Level 2 certification actually worth the price tag? We analyze if this investment helps your personal training career. Although, in this case we probably shouldn't focus exclusively on personal training because many people (nutrition coaches, dietitians, nutritionists, etc.) will also be interested in this course.   Many feel the pressure to keep adding credentials to their resume, but spending thousands on a nutrition coaching certification is a major decision. We look at whether this specific program offers enough practical knowledge to justify the cost or if it is just an expensive formality. Adding letters to your name can be helpful but it can't be the only reason to buy a nutrition certification. Improving your skills within the fitness industry (or nutrition industry) is essential, but you need to know if the return on investment is there.   We discuss what actually happens when you put these high-level concepts into practice with real clients. Alexis, who's in charge of nutrition in our personal training studio has a lot to say about Precision Nutrition and what she's taken away from the 20 week beast that is PN level 2. Is PN level 2 worth the money? Is PN level a challenging course? Does this Precision Nutrition level 2 course provide practical nutrition coaching skills that can be immediately used with clients?   Subscribe for weekly fitness and nutrition coaching business tips to keep your career on track! Tell us in the comments: what are your thoughts on Precision Nutrition? Is PNLV2 something you're interested in, or is it simply too expensive? Thanks for the love and support! -Jeff and Alexis *For those interested... $100 off Precision Nutrition Level 2 here: https://get.pn/r/cVoIAbnVEe https://www.youtube.com/@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sortahealthyjeff Our Nutrition Coaching Book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H51W1DKZ?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback Our in-person business: https://www.commencefitness.com

Ep 37: How Much Should You Actually Spend As A Personal Trainer?

What's up guys! Jeff from Sorta Healthy here! In todays episode we're breaking down how much money you should spend as a personal trainer. Now, the only way to tackle this subject is to break it down into multiple stages. Personal trainers who are further into their careers or running their own businesses will clearly have more expenses that need to be taken care of.   So, we created 5 stages of a personal training career and gave our thoughts on where you should put your money at each stage. We kick things off with a new personal trainer who's just getting into working in a gym and we wrap things up with a personal trainer who is beginning to run a big established business with multiple employees and hundreds of clients.    We have been at every one of these stages with our personal training studio Commence Fitness Personal Training, so we certainly have a good idea of what should be done along this journey. There are many things we've done well in our personal training business and others that we'd do differently this time around.   Learn from our mistakes and run the best personal training business that you can!   Sorta Healthy Trainer Education YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation You can download the forms we use in our personal training business by going to this link: https://www.sortahealthytrainered.com/freepersonaltrainingforms Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sortahealthyjeff Our in-person business: https://www.commencefitness.com
