ABOUT: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 9) Dean gets jealous when Rory and Tristan are cast as Romeo and Juliet in a school play. Luke teases Lorelai for dating a younger man. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 9) November 27, 2001 | The WB CAST & CREW OF: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 9) Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore Alexis Bledel as Rory Gilmore BRAN’S GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 9) SYNOPSIS A wedding present shows up for Lorelai and Max. Lorelai is like we gotta send this ice cream maker back to whoever sent it which makes Rory & Sookie sad. The next day at school, Rory gets stuck with Paris & co on a class project. After class, they see that Tristan is back from suspension. Lorelai has been attending a business class and a younger student named Paul takes a liking to her and asks her out to dinner. At school, the group reluctantly lets Tristan be their Romeo. After failing to find who sent Lorelai the ice cream maker, she tries desperately to get rid of it. Sookie is like maybe you should keep the ice cream maker and work on moving on. Lorelai is like well there is this younger guy that asked me out. Sookie is all about it. Bad news for Rory, the group is coming to Stars Hollow to rehearse at Miss Patty's. Rory is very nervous because Dean doesn't know about her kiss with Tristan and what if they bump into each other and it's weird. Lorelai is like you should tell Dean. So they role play her telling him and it only freaks Rory out more so Lorelai is like you should definitely not tell him. Tristan shows up to Stars Hollow early just to harass Dean. Rory shows up just in time to stop Dean from punching him. He's not thrilled that he's going to be Romeo but there's nothing she can do. Lorelai and Rory meet up later at Luke's. Lorelai tells Rory that the date was casual and fun. And Rory tells her about the Dean Tristan fiasco. But then Dean shows up and says he's off tomorrow and wants to come watch rehearsal. So the next day, she goes to give Tristan a heads up and asks him not to tell Dean about the kiss. He's like ok but he's gonna know when he sees us kiss on stage and see how comfortable we are. Before rehearsal, Rory and Lorelai are together at Luke's when Paul comes in with his parents. He looks like a child and Rory gives her a hard time. It's rehearsal time, and Tristan does not keep his word. He looks at Dean and is like this reminds me of our first kiss at a party. Dean assumes he's just messing with them and Rory encourages him to leave. Luke doesn't let the casual date thing go and it's clearly bothering him. Lorelai confronts him on it and he's like it's fine, just live your life. It's performance night and Tristan is nowhere to be found. He finally shows up but says his dad is pulling him out of school and sending him to military school. He says he'd kiss her goodbye but her boyfriend is watching. Paris has to put on a wig and play the part. Afterwards, Lorelai is complaining about Luke to Sookie and she's like he's clearly in love with you. At the diner, she goes to tell Luke that she doesn't have many people in her life that she can count on. She hopes that Luke is one of those people. He says he is. Season 2 Episode 8

We're back with some more Gilmore Girls! Join us in this journey on social media - @gilmorethemerrierpod. ABOUT: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 8) Longtime friends Lorelai and Sookie have their first fight when Lorelai decides that their shared dream of opening an inn is doomed to failure. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 8) November 20, 2001 | The WB CAST & CREW OF: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 8) Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore Alexis Bledel as Rory Gilmore BRAN’S GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 8) SYNOPSIS It’s Friday night dinner, and Rory agrees to pose for a painting. Apparently it’s a family tradition, despite the fact that Lorelai’s portrait was never finished. The next day, Lorelai is chatting with Luke about business. Apparently he’s a big business boy. She and Sookie want to make the leap and open their own inn. They’re still early in the process, trying to figure out how to buy that property she found with Luke’s ex, Rachel. Taylor is shocked when he walks up to Luke’s and sees police tape and a chalk outline on the ground. WTF is that about?! Lorelai and Sookie find out that the owner of the property is the sweet old lady who runs the bakery, Fran. They go talk to her, but she says she can’t sell it. It’s the last thing she has left, and she just can’t let it go. Taylor calls the police, and they come down and are like, “We have no idea what this is.” Taylor says, “I’ve got a dead body outside my store!” The cop replies, “No, everyone is accounted for. It must just be a prank.” That’s when Rory, who has just walked up to the growing crowd, sees Jess looking on with a smirk. That darn prankster. The owner of the Independence Inn is in town! Mia lovessss Lorelai and Rory, and they spend the day together. After hanging out with Mia, Lorelai begins to feel bad about potentially leaving both Mia and the inn. Taylor figures out that Jess was behind the prank, so they throw an emergency town meeting to discuss what to do about him. They conveniently forget to tell Luke, but he walks in anyway and gives the whole town a piece of his mind. After the meeting, Lorelai finally tells Mia about her plans, and Mia handles it great. So great, in fact, that Mia reveals she wants to sell the inn. This causes one of Lorelai’s classic overthinking freakouts. She tells Sookie they should just press pause on the inn idea. It’s never going to work out. Then she really lays into Sookie: you’re too disorganized, you’re not ready, this is a mess. Sookie storms off. Rory bumps into Jess and tells him that he’s making Luke’s life harder. The whole town is coming down on Luke because of him, and it’s not fair. Jess is like, “Yeah, but did you think it was funny?” They start getting a little flirty when Dean suddenly appears. Jess is like, “Oh... boyfriend? You didn’t mention that.” Awkwarddddd. Lorelai and Rory show up for Friday night dinner, and Emily proudly unveils the new painting. But Lorelai is still in a bad mood. She tells her mom what’s going on—how Mia came back into town and completely threw her off. And, surprisingly, that throws Emily off too. Lorelai starts to feel really bad about her freakout. She realizes she was just overwhelmed by everything they were trying to do. After talking it over with Luke, she goes to apologize to Sookie. Emily shows up at the inn to meet Mia. She tells her she wishes she had encouraged Lorelai to come home. But also... “Do you happen to have any pictures?” The episode ends at Luke’s. Rory watches as Luke realizes that Jess secretly fixed the toaster. The two of them share a smile. Uh oh. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. We're back with some more Gilmore Girls! Join us in this journey on social media - @gilmorethemerrierpod. ABOUT: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 7) Lorelai is appalled to find herself modelling matching outfits with her mother after volunteering the inn as a venue for a charity fashion show, and Rory seeks to overturn her reputation as a loner. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 7) November 13, 2001 | The WB CAST & CREW OF: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 7) Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore Alexis Bledel as Rory Gilmore BRAN’S GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 7) SYNOPSIS The car battery is dead. That leads to some classic Gilmore Girl banter. At school, Rory is called to the Guidance Counselor's office. Apparently, there's concern over her social behavior. She's unapproachable. She's a loner. So Lorelai shows up to give Headmaster Charleston a piece of her mind and he's like well....you're not a very active parent. You're a bit of a loner. You should think about being more involved. Rory takes the criticism to heart and sits down with some random girls at lunch. After lunch, Paris comes over and is like HOW'D YOU GET THE INVITE TO SIT DOWN WITH THE PUFFS? Rory has no idea what she's talking about. Apparently that friend group that she randomly sat with is the popular girls. Paris asks her to help her sit at their table. The popular table extends to the Boosters which Lorelai shows up for. They're planning the fall fundraiser. Lorelai offers to hold the event at the Inn. Rory successfully gets Paris an invite to sit at the Puffs table. At the inn, they're getting ready for the event and one of the Booster moms takes quite the liking to Luke. Apparently, the moms all do a fashion show and Lorelai & Emily are teamed up and Emily is LOVING life, dancing to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. And Lorelai eventually joins in. Afterwards, Emily points out that it's interesting to see her fitting in so well into the world that she ran away from. The Puffs show up and kidnap Rory and the other new potential Puffs. They're being PUFF'd! They break into Headmaster Charleston's office and just as Rory is saying her pledge to the Puffs, the night is ruined by Headmaster Charleston. He's lecturing them when Rory speaks up - I'm only here because you all demanded that I begin to socialize. So I sat down at a random table and was kidnapped in the middle of the night all because I was trying to appease you! Headmaster Charleston tells her that she's right and that he will make sure this doesn't count against her. Lorelai tells Luke she doesn't want him to go out with that mom from the Boosters. They argue and then he says she only asked him for directions. The episode ends with Rory back at her own table at lunch and is joined by another girl who also only wants to read. We're back with some more Gilmore Girls! Join us in this journey on social media - @gilmorethemerrierpod. ABOUT: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 6) Rory agrees to her grandmother's request that she come out at a debutante ball, and Lorelai asks Christopher to present his daughter to society and finds herself attracted to his newfound maturity. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 6) November 6, 2001 | The WB CAST & CREW OF: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 6) Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore Alexis Bledel as Rory Gilmore BRAN’S GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 6) SYNOPSIS The Gilmore girls show up for Friday night dinner and Richard and Emily don't even notice them there as they're having a big argument over whether or not Emily's social calendar is important or not. So embarrassing! And the arguments keep coming. The next morning, they walk into Luke's and see Luke demanding Jess go up and change when he comes down in a Metallica shirt. So embarrassing! Emily is hanging out with her friends and they're all giving her a hard time for missing events due to Richard's work schedule when Rory shows up. When they see her, they all demand that she comes out! Comes out of where, you ask? Apparently, in high class society, you present a lady at the Debutante Ball when she is officially a woman. I dunno man. Sounds icky. Lorelai finds out about this and is like no way I'm letting you do that, but Rory insists that she really wants to! And she also really wants her dad to come. So Lorelai calls and fully expects him to not be able to come but he says he's there! And shockingly, he does show up. Even more shockingly, he shows up in a car and not a motorcycle. Even more shockingly, HE HAS A JOB! It's hard to not notice the sparks that fly between Lorelai and Christopher, especially when they show off their ballroom dancing skills. When they get to the ball, they're both looking fancy, flirty flirty fun time. But Emily and Richard aren't having that same good time. They just keep arguing about how busy he is! Just as the event is about to start, Lorelai looks back and sees her parents still arguing. He just keeps talking about how work is crazy and all Emily cares about is these silly events. He explains that he knows he's being phased out of the business. Emily is like so what? That doesn't go well. And then they all rush in to watch Rory walk in with Christopher and Emily whispers to Lorelai "that should've been you" and then she walks off. As the evening comes to an end, Lorelai tells Christopher that she'd like to see him more now that he's living in Boston. They end up kissing and she asks him to stay. He says it's a tempting offer but he has to get back to Boston for work...and for someone. And it's kind of serious. They're living together. She handles it well but after he walks away, you can see a wee bit of hurt in her eyes. The Gilmore girls are back at Luke's laughing as they watch Jess clean the diner wearing one of Luke's flannels and a backwards hat. Lorelai tells Rory that she's happy that she has someone to complain to when life gets hard. That leads Lorelai to go to Emily's house the next day, just to hang. She tells Emily that if there's ever anything she needs to talk about, she can talk to her. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Lorelai is like, “Well... you should get him a real bed... and sheets.... Are you sure you want to do this?” Luke insists it's no big deal. It's time for a new school year. Paris is still mad at Rory, but they're going to have to work together because of the school paper. Jess comes into town and he's a punk. He just drops his bags off, snags his book, and goes to find a nice bench somewhere as the town gets ready for fall. Rory shows up for the first meeting of the paper late because Paris gave her the wrong time on purpose. Paris assigns her first story: the paving of the new parking lot. Afterwards, she bumps into Max and awkwardly walks the other way. Lorelai invites Luke and Jess over for dinner as a little welcoming party for Jess. Jess is a bad boy. Luke comes upstairs to find snacks all over the bed and Jess smoking a cigarette inside. When Luke tells him they're going to dinner, Jess just walks out. Rory turns in her first assignment and the teacher in charge absolutely loves it. Jess meets Rory and is immediately like, “Do you wanna bail?” She's like, “No, it's gonna be fun!” He decides to just snag a beer out of the fridge and go drink it on the back porch. The next morning, Lorelai makes Rory go into Luke's to snag the coffee so she can avoid Luke. But Luke then gets a call—it's Taylor, and Jess is up to no good! Naturally, Luke runs to Lorelai to tell her she was right—he's way over his head. He goes to parent HARD, but Jess is like, “Thanks but no thanks. Gotta go.” He bumps into Rory, does some magic, gives her back the book he stole, proves that he reads a ton, and goes on his way. Rory is in love. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. We're back with some more Gilmore Girls! Join us in this journey on social media - @gilmorethemerrierpod. ABOUT: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 2) Lorelai hesitates to tell her parents about her engagement to Max, despite Rory's urging. Rory and Dean have a spat over Rory's plans for extracurricular activities. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 2) October 9, 2001 | The WB CAST & CREW OF: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 2) Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore Alexis Bledel as Rory Gilmore BRAN’S GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 2) SYNOPSIS Lorelai has officially entered wedding planning mode. She tells Rory she went dress shopping the day before…and it was AWFUL. Rory is like, “Great, we’re going right now!” At Chilton, Paris is signing up for summer school, extra classes, extracurriculars — the whole thing. Rory walks up, but Paris is still mad about the Tristan situation. She tells Rory she better not show up at the charity home-building event tomorrow. Rory’s like, “Oh, I’ll be there.” Remember Henry, the guy Lane hit it off with at the party? He tells Rory he tried calling, but Mrs. Kim scared him off. So he gives Rory his number to pass along. Friday night dinner time. Rory reminds Lorelai she needs to tell Emily and Richard about the engagement. Lorelai’s like, “I will soon, okay?!” Richard pulls Rory aside and apologizes for how he treated Dean. He says he wanted to do it in person. Rory forgives him, and they hug. Progress! Meanwhile, Lorelai is alone with Emily and decides to finally tell her about the engagement. Emily’s response? “That’s nice. I hope I’m in town.” Lorelai is…not thrilled. The next day, Rory heads to the house-building charity event. She shows up with a pink, fluffy hammer (not ideal), and the guy in charge is basically like, “Good luck.” Paris immediately claims a wall and tells Rory to find somewhere else. She reveals she’s been volunteering for years — it’s all part of her Harvard plan. Rory realizes…she is WAY behind on extracurriculars. Uh oh. Rory vents to Dean, spiraling about how she can’t relax this summer — she has to catch up. Dean is not loving this. He just wants to spend time together and is like, “Is that too much to ask?” Lorelai feels bad seeing Rory so stressed, which kind of ruins her date with Max. Max talks about how supportive his parents are, and Lorelai is like…must be nice. He tries to get her to think about things rationally, but instead she decides to bring him to meet her parents. Bold choice. This leads to a big fight with Emily. Lorelai finally lets it out: “Why don’t you care? You’ve never cared, and it hurts.” Emily fires back that she found out about the engagement from a stranger instead of her own daughter. The next day at work, Lorelai realizes it was Sookie who told Emily while planning an engagement party. Everything clicks. At the party, Lorelai is actually having a great time — even though Max is about to leave for Toronto for a while. Dean finds Rory, and they make up. Meanwhile, Lorelai notices Luke isn’t there, so she goes to the diner. He gives a weird excuse about being busy “working”…on ketchup. She tells him she really wants him there — it’s an important night. When Luke finally shows up, he sees Lorelai slow dancing with Max. They spot each other and just…wave. Oof. The episode ends with Lorelai going to Emily for advice about veils. She apologizes for not telling her sooner and admits they don’t communicate well. She explains she was scared of how Emily would react. Emily softens…just a little. Then tells her her head is too big for a veil and she should wear a tiara — like she did.
