The Early-Treatment Failure That Defined Covid with Dr. Peter McCullough

For Dr. Peter McCullough, one of the most consequential failures of the COVID era happened before vaccines, mandates, or public controversy took center stage. It was the assumption that people who became infected had few meaningful options until they were sick enough to enter the hospital. In this conversation, cardiologist and internist Dr. Peter McCullough joins Dr. Jess Peatross to revisit the medical decisions that shaped the pandemic and explain why early treatment became the issue that changed the direction of his career. He discusses the development of his multi-drug treatment approach, his criticism of institutional responses to COVID-19, his experience with censorship, and how the pandemic transformed his previously neutral view of vaccines. They also examine medical accountability, natural immunity, informed consent, and what McCullough believes health systems should learn before another public health emergency. In this episode, you'll discover: How Dr. McCullough approached COVID risk stratification and early treatment, and why he argues that waiting for severe illness represented a major missed opportunity in patient careWhy his experiences during the pandemic changed the way he viewed medical authority, vaccines, institutional recommendations, and the responsibility of clinicians to exercise independent judgmentHow fear, censorship, public health messaging, and questions of accountability contributed to a larger breakdown of trust that he believes medicine has yet to confront fullyThis episode is for listeners who continue to have questions about how COVID-19 was handled, how medical decisions were made during the pandemic, and what greater transparency, critical thinking, and accountability could look like in future health crises. - - - - - About the Guest: Dr. Peter McCullough is a cardiologist and internist who became a prominent public voice during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this conversation, he describes developing and publishing a multi-drug early treatment approach that became known as the McCullough protocol, testifying before Congress, and speaking publicly about pandemic policy and patient care. He also discusses his involvement with The Wellness Company, his changing views on vaccination following COVID-19, and his more recent interest in autism research. - - - - - Connect with Dr. Peter McCullough: Websites: https://www.petermcculloughmd.com/; https://mcculloughfnd.org/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/petermcculloughmd Facebook: https://web.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100088950065982 - - - - - Connect with Dr. Jess Peatross, MD Website: https://wellnessplus.com/  Instagram: ⁦https://www.instagram.com/dr.jess.md  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wplusbydrjess/ - - - - - PODCAST Thank you for listening. The Root Cause of Thyroid Problems Most Doctors Miss

A “normal” thyroid test does not always explain why someone still feels exhausted, constipated, anxious, cold, or unable to lose weight. Dr. Vohn Watts, a chiropractor who has worked extensively in functional medicine and thyroid care, joins Dr. Jess Peatross to challenge the idea that persistent thyroid symptoms always begin and end with the thyroid gland. They examine thyroid hormone production and conversion, Hashimoto’s, iodine and other nutritional building blocks, gut and liver function, hormone interactions, stress, fasting, and environmental exposures. Throughout the conversation, Dr. Vohn shares his foundational wellness framework, which focuses on investigating deficiencies and toxic exposures that may interfere with normal physiological pathways. In this episode, you’ll discover: How thyroid hormone is produced and converted, why TSH provides only part of the picture, and which additional factors Dr. Vohn considers when symptoms persist despite apparently normal resultsWhy Hashimoto’s requires looking at immune activity as well as thyroid function, and how gut health, nutrient status, stress, and environmental exposures may contribute to the larger clinical pictureHow iodine, minerals, hormone therapies, fasting, detoxification approaches, and other interventions can affect people differently, and why individual context and testing matter before simply adding another treatmentThis episode is for anyone dealing with ongoing thyroid or Hashimoto’s symptoms, especially those who have been told their labs are normal but still feel that something is being missed, as well as listeners who want to understand better the interconnected roles of nutrition, gut health, hormones, immunity, and environmental exposures. - - - - - About the Guest: Dr. Vohn Watts is a chiropractor, functional medicine practitioner, and founder of Foundational Wellness. His work focuses on what he calls foundational health, examining factors such as nutrient deficiencies, toxic exposures, gut function, lifestyle, and organ function before moving on to treatment strategies. In this episode, he draws on his experience working with thyroid dysfunction and Hashimoto’s. He discusses his broader approach to helping people better understand the physiological pathways that may contribute to persistent symptoms. The Pet Food Mistake Most Owners Never Question

Your pet lives in the same home, breathes the same air, encounters many of the same environmental exposures, and may even experience the effects of the stress happening around them. So when chronic health problems appear, looking only at the diagnosis may leave part of the picture unexplored. Dr. Marlene Siegel is a veterinarian who practices bioregulatory medicine and has spent 41 years in veterinary practice. In this conversation, she joins Dr. Jess Peatross to explain how she approaches chronic illness by looking beyond symptoms to factors such as nutrition, environmental exposures, gut health, fascia and lymphatic function, mitochondrial health, and stress. They also discuss species-appropriate nutrition, signs that may point to digestive dysfunction, individualized vaccination and parasite-prevention decisions, and why pet parents may need to think more critically about the everyday choices shaping their animals’ health. In this episode, you’ll discover: How food, water, household chemicals, air quality, pesticides, and other environmental exposures may contribute to the overall burden on your pet, and why reducing unnecessary exposures is the first step in Dr. Siegel’s approachWhy Dr. Siegel looks at gut health, essential nutrients, detoxification, mitochondria, fascia, and stress together rather than treating each symptom as an isolated problemHow to think more critically about veterinary decisions such as diet, vaccines, flea and tick prevention, and heartworm protection by considering your pet’s individual risks, environment, and needsThis episode is for pet parents who want to understand their animals’ health beyond routine symptom management, especially those navigating chronic illness, recurring digestive or skin problems, environmental concerns, or questions about nutrition and preventive care. - - - - - About the Guest: Dr. Marlene Siegel is a veterinarian who has practiced for 41 years and uses a bioregulatory approach to animal health. Why Successful Women Still Feel So Disconnected

Sometimes the woman who appears strongest, most capable, and most successful is also the woman who has forgotten how to slow down, receive support, and experience joy without earning it first. Sandy Sembler is a women's embodiment expert and the founder of the SakredShe Method. In this conversation, she and Dr. Jess unpack how overachieving can develop as a form of protection and keep women locked in constant doing mode. They discuss masculine and feminine energies, the difference between balance and harmonization, and why reclaiming vulnerability, pleasure, intuition, and emotional expression does not mean giving up your ambition or independence. In this episode, you'll discover: ● How overachieving, constant productivity, and always being the strong one can become protective patterns that distance you from joy, vulnerability, and deeper relationships ● Why masculine and feminine energies are complementary parts of you, and how harmonizing them can help you create structure without suppressing creativity, emotion, pleasure, or rest ● How simple embodiment practices, from receiving a compliment to slowing your breathing and noticing joy in ordinary moments, can help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that survival mode taught you to hide This episode is for every woman who has built her identity around being capable, independent, and dependable, but is beginning to wonder what that strength has given her and what it may be costing her. - - - - - About the Guest: Sandy Sembler is a women's embodiment expert and the founder of the SakredShe Method. Drawing from her personal transformation and her studies in masculine and feminine dynamics, trauma-informed somatics, relationships, and emotional expression, Sandy helps women recognize the protective patterns beneath overachieving and reconnect with joy, intuition, pleasure, and authentic self-expression. Your Mouth Could Be the Missing Piece in Healing Your Chronic Illness

In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Gerry Curatola to explore why the mouth may be one of the most overlooked pieces of chronic illness and healing. We discuss the oral microbiome, cavitations, root canals, airway health, mouth breathing, inflammation, and why biological dentistry views the mouth as an essential part of the entire body rather than a separate system. If you've never considered your teeth as part of your healing journey, this conversation may change the way you think about health. - - - - - About the Guest: The founder of Rejuvenation Dentistry, Dr. Gerry Curatola, is an internationally recognized biologic doctor with nearly four decades of experience as a clinician, researcher, educator, author, and humanitarian.
