Dem Cover-Ups Exposed on Minnesota Fraud & LA Fires

Join Jim and Greg for the Wednesday 3 Martini Lunch as they recoil at Democrats' attempts to cover up corruption and failure but are glad to see it exposed. They also weigh on President Trump urging Republicans to be "flexible" when it comes to taxpayer-funded abortions. First, they welcome a day of congressional hearings that expose the full scope of the massive Minnesota welfare fraud scandal and the extraordinary lengths state officials allegedly went to hide it. Jim and Greg highlight testimony detailing how whistleblowers inside state government were pressured and intimidated in an effort to prevent the truth from emerging. Next, they reject President Trump's call for congressional Republicans to have flexibility on the Hyde Amendment as part of extending the Covid-era Obamacare subsidies. The Hyde Amendment forbids taxpayer dollars to be used to pay for abortions. Jim says flexibility is not even a practical option on this issue and Greg wants to know why Trump is asking the GOP to surrender any ground on this issue when its already making a huge concession. Finally, they fume as the author of the report on the Pacific Palisades fire refuses to endorse it after politicians and fire officials made "substantial modifications" and "significant deletions of information" to make the LAFD look better in its response to the fires.  Please visit our great sponsors: Visit https://CoastPay.com/3ML to get free gas for a whole day. Will the Iranian Regime Finally Fall?

Join Jim and Greg for the Tuesday 3 Martini Lunch as they break down massive anti-regime protests in Iran and whether the ruling mullahs are finally in real danger, the death of a Republican congressman that tightens the GOP’s already slim House majority, and the absurd congressional quest of George Conway. First, they cheer on the widespread protests erupting across Iran after the country’s currency suffered a staggering collapse in value. Jim and Greg examine whether this latest wave of unrest has a better chance of toppling the regime than past uprisings, or if the theocratic government will once again respond with brutal crackdowns to stay in power. Next, they mourn the passing of Republican California Rep. Doug LaMalfa, a strong conservative who died at the age of 65. Combined with Monday’s resignation of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, House Republicans are left with an even narrower majority. Jim and Greg discuss how that complicates life for GOP leadership and criticize lawmakers who walk away from their seats mid-term for reasons other than serious health issues or scandal. Finally, they weigh in on the chaotic Democratic scramble to succeed Rep. Jerry Nadler in New York’s 12th Congressional District in Manhattan. Jim and Greg roll their eyes as Lincoln Project alum George Conway attempts to carpetbag his way into Congress, while Jack Schlossberg, grandson of John F. Kennedy,  jumps into the race based on social media controversy and being a Kennedy. Please visit our great sponsors: Visit https://CoastPay.com/3ML to get free gas for a whole day. Terms apply. Midnight for Maduro

Happy New Year! Jim and Greg return to their regular format on the 3 Martini Lunch and kick off the year with some massive stories. They break down the stunning U.S. military operation to arrest illegitimate Marxist Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announcing he will not seek a third term as his government is engulfed in scandal, and what President Trump wants to happen next in Venezuela and whether the remaining government will cooperate.  First, they are blown away by the jaw-dropping speed, precision, and execution of the U.S. military mission that captured Maduro and his wife early Saturday in Caracas. Jim and Greg explain why the extraordinarily high level of difficulty sends a powerful message to America’s adversaries worldwide, and why no one should feel a shred of sympathy for Maduro after years of repression, corruption, and brutality. Next, they welcome the news that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will not seek a third term as his administration sinks under the weight of a massive state welfare fraud scandal. Jim reminds us that a lot of information was already known about this scandal even before Kamala Harris picked Walz as her running mate. And they consider how the political chairs will shift in Minnesota based on this decision.  Finally, they consider what comes next in Venezuela after the capture of Maduro. Jim gives us very unpleasant briefing on the new Venezuelan leader and considers whether the Trump administration can get her to do what it wants done there. 2025 Martini Awards Part 5: Most Overreported Story, Most Underreported Story, Best Story of 2025

It's media day in our year-end 3 Martini Lunch awards and Jim and Greg have plenty to say about how things were covered - if they were covered at all. Specifically, they look at the stories the mainstream media covered far too much, the ones they conveniently ignored because they didn't fit their narrative, and they highlight what they saw as the best stories of 2025. First, they dig into the most overreported stories of the year, with Jim choosing a constant drumbeat from the mainstream media to help get a truly radical candidate elected in New York City. Greg says the media's obsession with turning every Trump story into a possible scandal is non-stop, but there was one incredibly inconsequential construction project in Washington that they just could not shut up about.  Then it's on to the stories the media didn't cover much or didn't want to cover. Jim points to the scant media attention given to the remarkable educational advancements happening in Mississippi. Greg focuses on the media's yawning over the persecution of Christians, even when Trump and the pope are speaking out against it. Finally, they reveal their selections for best stories of the year. Jim focuses on the biggest diplomatic achievement of the year, was more than two years in the making, and brought relief or closure to many families. Greg's selection is much more personal, focusing on the incredible achievements of a family friend. Make sure to listen on Wednesday as Greg and Jim unveil their selections for Person of the Year, Loser of the Year, and Turncoat of the Year.  New episodes every weekday.  👉 Subscribe to the show so you never miss a moment. 2025 Martini Awards Part 4: Best Ideas, Worst Ideas, Boldest Tactics

More year-end awards today! Today, Jim and Greg tackle the fourth installment of the 3 Three Martini Lunch Awards. Today, they offer up their selections for the Best Political Idea, Worst Political Idea, and Boldest Political Tactics for the year.  They start with the best ideas of the year. Jim applauds those who are advancing the cutting edge technology that will rapidly change our world. Greg cheers on those fighting to eliminate the most unfair tax of all. Then it's time for the worst political ideas of the year. Jim quickly zeroes in on a big aspect of the Trump economic agenda that may well be hurting the president's own efforts to bring prices down. Greg chides Trump for picking a fight with closest neighbors at a time when the lefties there were about to implode. Now we get five more years of leftist insanity. Finally, they're on to the boldest political tactics for 2025. Jim praises Trump for waving off the naysayers and neutralizing on of the world's major looming threats. Greg gives Trump and Elon Musk credit for trying to shrink our government. Even though it did not achieve all of its goals, at least someone finally tried - something neither party has shown any interest in doing for decades. Don't miss Tuesday's special edition as Jim and Greg reveal their choices for Most Overreported Story, Most Underreported Story, and the Best Story of 2025.
