The Duke Basketball Roundup takes a moment to preview what to expect from the contest as Duke seeks to remain undefeated in football. #846 - Champaign Victory and the full schedule arrives!

It was a packed weekend of Duke sports starting with a huge victory for the football Blue Devils on the road at Illinois. The DBR Podcast crew breaks down an impressive outing that began with the Nate Train rumbling for big yards and ended with the defensive secondary making big plays to seal the win. As Manny Diaz notes, the fact that Duke has now beaten two teams it lost to a year ago speak volumes about the quality of the current Blue Devils. #845 - Tough test against Illini awaits

The Duke Blue Devils hit the road this weekend for a big test on the gridiron against Illinois. We preview the game on Episode 845. The Illini won their opening game last weekend against UAB, and Jason and Donald go through what they did well and some areas that Duke could create an advantage. It’s a tough game, but if Duke plays well and improves in some areas, they have the ability to beat Illinois and make a statement in the process. We then get into some of the details of the activities that will take place before and during Countdown to Craziness on October 3rd. From a fan fest in K-Ville to tours and a dunk contest, Countdown sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun! Plus, it’s the best time to be introduced to the women’s and men’s basketball teams, and we like that there’s a lot of activities for everyone regardless of whether they have a ticket. Jason and Donald get ready for the first game of the season by talking a bit about Duke's new roster and also providing a preview of what to expect from the Tulane Green Wave as they visit Wally Wade. After the break, the guys dive into the week's big basketball news, that Duke is adding a corporate logo to the Cameron floor. The DBR Pod has no problem with the Edward Jones partnership and looks ahead to how this kind of thing could evolve into other deals in the future. #841 - Get Familiar With Duke!

With not a ton of news to discuss, it’s time to get familiar with our Duke men’s basketball team! We do that on Episode 841. Duke has released a series of posts on Instagram called “Get Familiar” that introduce us to almost all of the players on the team, whether they are returning or new faces. Donald and Jason detail the facts about each player that they enjoyed learning about the most. We have one guy who can bake a delicious banana bread and another who said he would be a F1 driver if he didn’t play basketball! It’s a fun look into the personalities that comprise the team this season. We also discuss Caleb Foster’s past couple of weeks, where he’s worked out with Jayson Tatum and is fostering a puppy named Titan that is training to be a service dog! We want Titan content all season long, but we also discuss the importance of CFos’ relationship with the CBO. I thought I enjoyed Scott Rich as a new participant. But now you can toss him. I hope Jason comes back at him for his defense of Nik. Scott has no comprehension of the animus toward UConn in the fan base. He is oblivious to the history—of talks as if he is. He may have high IQ but he is in the bottom 5% on EQ! Just an idiot! He can take his advice about this is the way it will be in the NIL era and we should wish Nik well and sell it on another podcast. We don’t need him or Nik anymore—unless Scott repents of his idiocy.
