Non-Millennials Need Love Too

Most podcasts these days seem so millennial focused. Can we please continue to speak to all generations? I’m a Gen X-er and I love Money podcasts but you really lose me when they seem targeted toward a single group.

I don’t belong here..

Is how I felt during the first several episodes I listened to. I have become addicted to this podcast and really love the advice, and have encouraged my 23 year old law school daughter to listen each day on her commute to her internship in Orange County. Me? I am a 52 year old Mom, my middle son is severely disabled medically fragile. I have an MBA, but had to leave work in 2002 to be his caregiver. I really am trying to find someone to help me get advice for getting out of debt and not ending up living in poverty because I have a disabled son to care for. I am a Vlogger. And hope to start my own podcast soon, because I know there are many caregivers like me, truly intelligent, but stuck because of selflessly giving their life to another person. I DO belong here. Because Farnoush is a darling, and her podcasts are wonderful. I am inspired as an entrepreneur to not give up, even though I am 52, with a 21 year old disabled son. Trying to dig out of a hole and be a resource for other woman and men like myself. The world of caregivers seems like it’s silenced in our community. There has to be a way.

Maternity Money Mindset Makeover

I discovered this podcast after doing some research to find some outstanding financial podcasts for women. I was immediately interested when I recognized many of Farnoosh’s podcast guests as titans in the field of finance. I started to listen to the podcast from the beginning a couple of weeks ago, at the beginning of my maternity leave, and I’ve been bingeing episodes at all hours! I’ve been fascinated to learn about the habits of financially successful people and hear about how these individuals have overcome their childhood stories where they associated money with fear and lack. I’ve already been inspired to make change to my own money story and take charge of my finances. I’m contemplating my own money mantra, planning to incorporate a weekly “money date,” and evaluating my values as they relate to spending. Farnoosh and her guests have shown me that I have the power to control my financial future, and I’m excited about what this means for me and my family moving forward. This podcast is life-changing if you are ready to apply the teachings.
