This show is great! I think it’s the best way to get introduced to a great variety of new music, because it’s so interactive. Here’s how it works: Each episode has 2 guests come on with one album each that they feel is essential to a record collection. A snippet of each track is played and the hosts and guests rate the songs 1-5. There’s plenty of good natured arguing going on as the tracks are discussed. It’s hilarious. The average rating of the tracks give the album its score, which you can view on the online “Table of Essentiality”. A lot of the time these guys are dead wrong with their scores, but that’s where it gets interesting, because the listener also gets to vote on each track through an online poll, which in-turn affects the album’s score. You can watch and see how your own vote affects the table. I’m having so much fun through this long and arduous process and who knows you might too! Or at least you’ll find some cool new music. Give it a chance.

What a great show for anyone who loves music. You do not need to be into vinyl to enjoy fun conversations about albums. Highly recommend!!

Always a fun journey of discovery. This is a great podcast for anyone even remotely interested in music. If you do it right, by filling out the forms and deep diving into the albums presented, you’ll be amazed at what you discover. So often I’ll start out not liking an album, then a week later it’s in my collection 😔 The hosts are fun, everyday music lovers, not audiophiles wanging on about esoteric beats or rare Japanese pressings (although, it does come up). And they have a good mix of guests, from people who just bought their first record player, to music journalists, podcasters and collectors with vinyl in the thousands. This is a great pod for anyone just getting into record collecting, or for someone who’s been at it for years. It’s an essential podcast.
