Clinical psychologist and Christian author Dr. Juli Slattery doesn’t like small talk. In this weekly podcast, she dives into the “taboo” questions Christians are afraid to ask—or don’t know who to ask—about sexuality, intimacy, marriage, singleness, gender, sexual addiction, and more. Every episode is an open invitation to join Juli “at the table” for a deeper look at the good, the hard, the healing, and the holy in God’s design for sexuality.
#334: What Your Pastor Needs to Know About Porn
Some of the worst advice you’ve received about porn may have come from ... your pastor? Yikes! Most pastors—understandably—aren't trained in sexual addiction or the impact of sexual trauma in marriage, and some of the popular Christian advice espoused in this area has done more harm than good. In this episode, Juli sits down with Mark & Rosie Makinney to debunk misconceptions about pornography and offer hope, encouragement, and practical tools for healing. Mark and Rosie have overcome porn addiction in their own marriage; since then, Rosie founded Fight for Love Ministries and Mark has become a certified sexual addiction therapist. This conversation is for pastors, husbands, wives, and anyone who has walked beside a loved one through porn addiction in marriage.

#140: The Story of A Rape Survivor
One of Hettie’s greatest fears was that she would be raped. In her home country of South Africa, it is estimated that over 30% of women will be raped in their lifetime. So when she was awakened one night by her husband, with hands tied behind his back and escorted by four strange men, she thought she was about to become a statistic. In this episode, Hettie Brittz sits down with Juli to share her story. Grab your coffee and settle in for one of the most amazing accounts of God’s power and presence that you will ever hear.

#333: Is God Good ...Even if You're LGBT?
“We are being shaped by a culture that idolizes romantic and sexual fulfillment. And I just think—Jesus was fully human and he didn’t get married, have sex, or date anyone. So those things can’t be intrinsic to being human.” Sam Allberry joins Juli for a conversation about knowing the goodness of God even when it doesn’t feel good and how that has played out in his life as a celibate Christian and pastor. No matter what you're facing in your life right now, if you have doubts about whether or not God is good, grab your Java and pull up a chair. We’d love for you to join us.

I have never been taught this before and I am grateful
As a Christian, I grew up with a split mind regarding sex and spirituality-or a relationship with God. I’m 43 now and have just begun to learn that these two great themes of life-sex and my relationship with God-are not mutually exclusive but are both part of one great design. Juli has been excellent and beautiful in the way she has shown me this through scripture and through her own compassionate way of talking and listening.
I love this podcast! The knowledge, truth and compassion shared through this podcast has given me so much hope and joy. I’ve had many things to ponder, been prompted to work through healing past wounds and also think forward to discipleship of my future children. Thank you!
I absolutely love this podcast. Julie is kind and insightful, a wonderful host and interviewer. She covers a broad range of topics in different formats. My boyfriend and I often listen in our own lives and discuss together later on. Many episodes wouldn’t be the best to listen to with kids around, and here and there some episodes are slightly more explicit than I feel is helpful for me personally as an unmarried person. But, use your discretion and you should be good to go! Thanks Julie!
