Packed episode everyone. We won the Rockies series and talk about all the ins and outs there for like 30 minutes. The lineup, Christian Scott's struggles, José Butto and Dedniel Núñez saving our lives, Pete hopefully getting hot, and more. Then, some dense draft talk about the Mets first two picks Carson Benge and Jonathan Santucci. Also Media Marvels because some people thought Anthony Volpe was better than Francisco Lindor lol. Lots of fun.

Mets Sweep Nationals, Brandon Nimmo is That Dude, Trade Deadline Predictions | 305
SWEEEEEEP. The Mets have a playoff spot for the first time all season after sweeping the Nationals and played a great series. Nimmo is officially all grown up and he went off this week. Lindor too, they’ve been cash atop the lineup. The starters also all pitched really well while the bullpen was still not great. We did make a trade though for Phil Maton and give our predictions for the Mets Trade Deadline.

I think I know what Pete’s problem is
Love the pod gentlemen— just want you two to debate my thoughts and observations here because I love Pete but he’s been frustrating me.
I’m no scout nor hitting coach, but I like to think I have the eye for these kinds of things. Pete’s swing in the last two years specifically has gotten longer in his load. If you go back to 2019-2022 and watch his hands, it’s just a subtle raise to get to hitting position. If you watch 2023-2024, the separation of hands and body is much more exaggerated when shifting his weight back (he’s also crouched deeper in his stance but that’s not really my issue here). It seems to be the difference from crush pitches to fouling them off or hitting them as tappers back to the mound. He’s having serious trouble connecting on sliders away and seeing them for strikes instead of chasing in the dirt once twice or three times every night.
I believe if he quiets his movements and keeps his hands in a hitting position to start, he’s strong enough and has proven in 2022 his ability to take the ball to right center for doubles and home runs or turn and burn on the inside fastball. Tell me I’m crazy or that there could be something here. I just want my Polar Bear back. Thanks guys, cheers.
Good podcast
Good podcast but could do without the gratuitous and frequent F-bombs.
This Old Man Loves This Podcast
If you can remember the Mets winning a World Series you’re not young. If you can remember two - you’re old.
I can remember two. I can also remember talking sports all the time with my buddies, and Marc and James remind me of those days.
I like their enthusiasm and positivity, without cheerleading.
I like that they know their stuff and follow the prospects closely.
If they would just talk more about Mets icon Ed Kranepool they’d be perfect.
