“Dr. Harold Perelson, Killer Curse”丨MURDERISH Ep. 076

In the early morning hours of December 6, 1959, the Perelson family found themselves under attack. The tortured screams emitted from the family’s stately three-story home resounded through their Los Feliz neighborhood, jolting nearby residents from their slumber. What horrors had unfolded that cold December night, and what could the motive be for the bloody and horrifying event? Over 60 years later, this story continues to be told and wild speculation rages on.

“Robert Garrow, Attorney Client Privilege” | MURDERISH Ep. 075

“Robert Garrow, Attorney Client Privilege” | MURDERISH Ep. 075

In the 1970s, a group of four teenagers set up camp in the Adirondack Mountains. Sadly, only three of them would make it out alive. A high-profile manhunt for the murderer ensued and eventually led to a trial during which stunning confessions were revealed. These confessions shocked the courtroom and a huge scandal followed, one that is still being debated by legal professionals today. The ongoing legal debate begs the question ...is there ever a time when an attorney should divulge information they received from their client despite attorney client privilege? Join me as I walk you through the manhunt and scandalous trial of Robert Garrow.

    Introducing: The Apology Line

    Introducing: The Apology Line

If you could call a number and say you’re sorry, and no one would know…what would you
apologize for? For fifteen years, you could call a number in Manhattan and do just that. This is
the story of the line and the man at the other end who became consumed by his own creation.
He was known as “Mr. Apology.” As thousands of callers flooded the line, confessing to
everything from shoplifting to infidelity, drug dealing to murder, Mr. Apology realized he couldn’t
just listen. He had to do something, even if it meant risking everything. From Wondery the
makers of Dr. Death and The Shrink Next Door comes a story about empathy, deception, and
obsession. Marissa Bridge, who knew Mr. Apology better than anyone, hosts this six-episode
series. Listen today at http://wondery.fm/Murderish .

“Holly Washa, Delayed Justice” | MURDERISH Ep. 074

“Holly Washa, Delayed Justice” | MURDERISH Ep. 074

On May 27th, 1991, a call came in to the front desk of the Palm Springs Ramada Inn. The caller was 33-year-old Susan Schnell, a guest at the hotel. Shockingly, Schnell said that she had been sexually
assaulted and her throat had been slit. The battered woman was in critical condition but fortunately, she survived. Police quickly arrested her attacker. When investigators questioned the man about the attack on Schnell, they got much more than they bargained for. He admitted not only to the abduction and assault of Susan Schnell, but also told police where they could find the body of a young woman in Seattle whom he had murdered the previous Friday. After being alerted of this grisly confession, King County Police soon found the body of a young woman inside the trunk of her own car. The body was identified as being 21-year-old Holly Washa. Join me as I walk you through the case of Holly Washa and her delayed justice.

“Katie Beers, Against all Odds” | MURDERISH Ep. 073

“Katie Beers, Against all Odds” | MURDERISH Ep. 073

On December 28, 1992, nine-year-old Katie Beers vanished from a Long Island amusement center. National headlines in the days that followed read “The Tiny Tragedy from Long Island” and “America’s little girl lost.” The ripple effects were extensive. Not only was a young child missing, but a paralyzing sense of ‘stranger danger’ also terrorized New York’s second largest county. What had become of little Katie? Was any child safe? The events that unfolded after the young girl’s disappearance were a tale of alarming tragedy and unabiding resilience. Join me as I walk you through the case of Katie Beers.

Great Podcast with *lots* of ads

I love that there’s no annoying chatter, which is a big pet peeve with podcasts for me!! My only complaint is the amount of ads. While I’m able to skip them, I usually don’t, but with this podcast I literally have to or else I’ll spend 20 minutes listing to just ads. Other than that, great show! :)

Voice is too sing-songy

The voice is too sing-songy. I find myself physically moving up and then down when she speaks.
