Part 3: So you want to lose weight? Let's chat.

Part 3: So you want to lose weight? Let's chat.

Lyndi doesn't often talk about weight loss, although it's something clients frequently approach her about. The reason? Trying to lose weight often makes you more obsessed with food, making it harder to be healthy. Plus, pursuing weight loss doesn't actually lead to weight loss.

However, she isn't against you losing weight. She is against you trying to lose weight.

It's a subtle but oh-so-important difference. Weight loss is fine. But don't aim for it. Don’t slay your body, don’t compromise your well-being in order to lose weight. Let it become something that happens as a side effect of making healthier choices.

There is a way we can have a healthy conversation about the desire to lose weight and we are tackling it in this 3 part series. If you haven't listened to episodes 1 & 2, jump into those first so you have the background for the thinking around this nuanced topic.

In part 3, let's look at what Lyndi is actually doing and implementing into her new mother-of-two life. It is time for the practical strategies for achieving a stronger and healthier body without dieting.

Remember the relentless pursuit of weight loss often leads to an unhealthy obsession with food, making it even harder to feel good. Let's do the opposite.

Part 2: So you want to lose weight? Let's chat.

Part 2: So you want to lose weight? Let's chat.

In this episode, we continue the conversation around the post-baby journey with Lyndi. If you haven't listened to Part 1 yet, we highly recommend starting there to get the full context.

Lyndi knows the significance of being open and authentic about her post-baby weight loss experience. She wanted to avoid creating the narrative that the weight will simply "fall" off her without any effort. Because let's face it. It won't.

However, she also admitted feeling nervous about discussing this topic in the non-diet world, where conversations around weight are sensitive and complex. Especially if people are on different stages of their own journey in rebuilding their relationships with food and their bodies.

Despite the challenges, we know this is an important conversation to continue. Because you can accept your body as it is and also make food and movement choices that will make your body feel great at the same time.

Sleep better, feel better. 5 expert tips for an excellent night's sleep

In a society where there’s so much pressure on us to do all the things, it’s no surprise we’re all so freakin’ exhausted.
When we’re burning the candle at both ends, it’s tempting to mainline caffeine just to get through the day. And don’t get me wrong, I love my magical bean juice as much as the next girl. It’s delicious. But when we’re already overwhelmed and exhausted, drinking too much coffee can just put more pressure on our adrenals. Sadly, coffee is not the answer. Neither is wine, although it may help you forget the question!

So what is the answer? Better quality sleep. Excellent Sleep.
Enter Dr Stan Rodski. Stan Rodski is a highly respected cognitive neuroscientist and authority on improved brain performance in high-stress situations. He is the author of The Neuroscience of Mindfulness and more recently, The Neuroscience of Excellent Sleep.

Let's get his top 5 tips for having a better night's sleep.

Not really anti-diet

Despite being better than a lot of stuff out there it’s still a bit “diet-y”. Plenty of talking about making your body smaller. But better than much of what’s out there.
