I was recommended to listen to these podcast by my college professor. I listened to them on my iPhone in the podcast app for easy acess. I listened to the episode Sanity x ABCT: Parent Child Interaction Therapy with Dr.’s Kate Gibson and Corey Lieberman. I love having a good podcast playing in my headphone while I do other things. Or just laying in bed while listening to it. I really liked how they started off strong in all the great achievements of both the guest. I don’t have children of my own but I do hope to one day therefore I believe this is an excellent podcast topic in which can help prepare me. I do however work at a daycare and i really enjoyed her first couple points where she states how children are having disruptive behaviors at school and getting help for it but then being send home for a week without the therapy. So these practices also have to be enforced at home. Working with children I see progress made and also progress being ruined because of only having limited sections. She claims to let parents know the practices she uses so they can also follow them at home. What I found most memorable about the podcast was the acronym mentioned in the podcast that they teach parents to use to show children they are listening to their child. P.R.I.D.E. Praise, reflect, imitating, describe, and enjoy. Even though this podcast is for children and parents I do believe that this podcast can in fact, help future teachers, and also using some of these tactics and techniques in order to get to a child. Learning news ways of positive communication strategies and behavior management. As a future teacher, these are all great things to learn, especially for myself going to be a new and young teacher in the environment. It is good to learn more about child Interactions. As I said before this episode is directed towards parents, but it can also be used as a teaching tool for new teachers coming into a teaching environment or even older ones who have been there to learn new methods that are more up-to-date.
