    Chris DeStefano

Chris DeStefano brings a rare set of skills to the writer's room. Trained in film scoring at Berklee, Chris's knowledge of musical mechanics allows him to break out of ruts in writing sessions and infuse his songs with depth and gravitas. From singing in a boys choir in Austria, to session work in LA, to playing in a Salsa band in Las Vegas, to writing hits for Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood, Chris's story proves of one of our favorite themes on this podcast: no matter where your songwriting journey takes you, nothing is wasted.

Daniel Tashian: Letting Music Catch Up To You

Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & producer, Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves Albums Golden Hour, Star Crossed & Deeper Well) took the long way around to massive success. Like many of us, his musicality was simply way ahead of its time. On purpose or by accident, Daniel managed to stick it out long enough to witness his own Golden Hour and we are all better for it.

Miranda.Fl ,

so helpful!

I listen to every episode and seriously appreciate the insight so much! This podcast has given me so much direction and guidance while prepping for my relocation to Nashville :)

It’s a ‘Yes’ from Me

What a perfect name for such an amazing podcast! Like soup, this podcast will leave you satisfied like a bowl of soup on a dark and dreary day.
If you’re starving for industry insight, this podcast satisfies so many burning questions related to the songwriting world; even answering questions you maybe didnt even realize you had. Laura is the epitome of cozy in her conversational tone and overall inviting energy. Tracey is the ideal counterpart, providing the perfect blend of spices and quantitive qualities that is the ideal ying to the yang of Laura.
I’m snuggled in and enjoying the buffet of back episodes with anticipation of all that is to come. Thank you!

Alyssa Jeanette ,

Thank you, Songwriter Soup!

As an aspiring songwriter in Nashville I really look forward to Mondays and hearing the newest episode! It’s really nice to get some insight on ways to be a songwriter and the up and downs that may come with it along with the money/business side of it all. My favorite take away has been to focus on maintaining your peace/happiness, what you uniquely bring to a writing session and the value we
hold as songwriters. Thank you, Laura, Tracy, Kevin and guests! Here’s a questions I have
1. What’s the best way to get your songs heard/to the right people after you have written a handful of good songs you believe in? And is having a full demo produced necessary?
