Hootie & the Blowfish Drummer Jim Sonefeld
Jim Sonefeld is a songwriter, author, speaker, and drummer for iconic 90's rock band Hootie & the Blowfish. Jim fell into a cycle of drug and alcohol abuse in the early 2000's, finally seeking recovery by the end of 2004. He credits his long term recovery to the ‘power of transparency and love’ he found in the 12-Step community. Today, 2024 marks the crescendo of several busy years of projects. Hootie & the Blowfish will play nearly 50 shows across North America this summer during their Summer Camp With Trucks Tour, Hootie & The Blowfish . This comes on the heels of Diversion Books publishing Jim’s memoir “Swimming With The Blowfish - Hootie, Healing, and One Hell of a Ride” in 2022, Swimming with the Blowfish: Hootie, Healing, and One Hell of a Ride . Check out Jims full-length solo record “Snowman Melting - 15th Anniversary Deluxe” which features collaborations with Edwin McCain and his own band's lead singer, Darius Rucker. Walker Hayes - Grammy Nominated Country Artist
You may have heard of Monument Records recording artist Walker Hayes from his hit “Fancy Like” which topped every country music sales and streaming chart, spent more than six months at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart and also gave Walker his first GRAMMY Award nomination as an artist for Best Country Song. Another thing you may or may not know, is that Walker had his own struggles with Alcohol and through his success is now sharing this journey on his most recent project, Sober Thoughts.
Walker finds himself where he so often does – letting fans into his world in a way only he can do. Hayes has always written about his personal experiences from a place of deep authenticity and, sometimes brutal, truth – sharing his fears, insecurities, and demons with the world. We watch him do this on “AA” where he was struggling to stay sober after a whirlwind year, or on “Beer in the Fridge” when he sings “guess I've got to live without you now, cause I couldn't live without that beer in the fridge” during a particularly difficult time where he and his wife Laney were struggling with his addiction. But really, what Walker does with his music, is make people feel seen. This has never been truer than on new single “Same Drunk,” where he sings that everyone is dealing with something and were all in it together.
Walker has performed his music, including the Double-Platinum RIAA certified hit “You Broke Up With Me,” to national audiences on Good Morning America, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and TODAY, and he was profiled for CBS Sunday Morning.
He just announced his next headlining tour, The Same Drunk Tour, which follows his last arena tours The Duck Buck Tour and the Glad You’re Here Tour. The Glad You’re Here Tour is the same title as the book Hayes released in 2022 with his best friend, Craig Allen Cooper, detailing his journey to finding Christ.

Fausto C. Interview
Wow, what a story. What a journey. One question I would’ve liked to ask as a listener, and Shane you asked the right question, are we getting the real Fausto? Is this another character? There was a lot of excitement built up that almost seemed a little manic at times, especially being only a month removed from a suicide attempt, I get concerned for his safety and whether his new podcast is an attempt to recreate another character, or born out of deep self-examination. I hope his time away serves him well and allows him to re-center and be his authentic self, someone that doesn’t have to always cater to the needs of others. Someone who can just be.
To Shane- Fausto was right when he said you’re really good at interviewing. I’ve always found you authentic, empathetic, open to reflection and willing to look deep within yourself. Keep doing your thing man, whatever that may be today or in the future. Peace and abundance in all the things that really matter in this life.
Love your Podcast
Thank you so much for what you do Shane. You truly are an inspiration to me. You are the first Recovery based Podcast I started listening to after about a year into my sobriety. I have been listening to your Podcast for about a year now. I am truly thankful that I found you and I appreciate you so much. On July 1st of this year I celebrated 2 years of sobriety and I'm still keeping it strong. I have tried multiple times to get sober but could never stay sober. This is the longest I have been sober. I never thought recovery life was possible. Thought I would never say this but I am loving life and am a work in progress. To be honest it's been a tough couple years but worth every second. I have so many tools that I learned that I am using in my recovery and am capable and aware. This way of life is teaching me so much to accept and to trust. I'm so Grateful to be apart of the solution and to help others the best I can. Again thank you Shane and keep strong. Much love.
Finally found the courage to listen
I first heard about your podcast in 2022 while listening to the dad edge podcast. I was a dry drunk then and was trying to go it alone. I wanted to listen to you then but I was too scared to admit to myself that I was an Alcoholic. I predictably went back out and finally got sober on Feb 14th this year. I’m 72 days in and your podcast has been a big part of my program. You inspired me to start my own podcast about being a Sober dad and I will be launching sometime next month. I just want to say thanks for all the great content.
