    See Mistakes as Data

    See Mistakes as Data

We’re quick to let experiences define us—especially when we make mistakes. Today, we’ll practice seeing our experiences and emotions as data that we can use to empower us. Voiced by Mel Chanté.

    Takeaways:
1- When we view our experiences as data points, we can move from a fixed mindset to a flexible mindset.
2- You can make a mistake but that doesn’t mean you’re defined as a mistake.
3- Separating our identity from our emotions can help us become resilient in the face of setbacks and challenges.
    ---
Mantra: I can grow through what I go through.

    Find Your Third Space

    Find Your Third Space

A “third space” is a mental or physical space that you can use to create a transition between work or home life. In today’s meditation, we use a visualization to help us create this psychological “buffer” for ourselves. Voiced by Mel Chanté.

    Takeaways:
1- A “third space” is a physical or mental space that we create between our work and home life.
2- Many of us might use our commute as a “third space,” but even if we work from home, we can always build opportunities for processing and decompression into our days.
3- A “third space” allows us to process and decompress from one aspect of our lives so that we can enter the new space ready to be fully present.
    ---
    Mantra: I am here now.

    Feel 1% Better

    Feel 1% Better

We often put pressure on ourselves to feel “all better” and find the thing that will “fix” how we’re feeling right away. But: What if we focused instead on just feeling a little bit better instead? Today, we are going to experiment with the Kaizen “1% Better” principle as a way to support our own self care and healing. Written by Stephanie Simpson. Voiced by Elisha Mudly.

    Takeaways:
1- There is great power in focusing on the small, more manageable shifts you can make in the moment rather than always focusing on the big change.
2-  Your breath is a resource you have access to in every moment of every day.
3- Persistent intentional daily practice, no matter how small, compounds over time to result in big gains.
    ---
Mantra: I commit to one thing every day that makes me feel 1% better.

    Create a Get-To-Do List

    Create a Get-To-Do List

When our motivation is missing, it can help to shift our mindset from what we *have* to do to what we *get* to do. Join us in reframing your obligations with today’s meditation. Written by Tiana Brawley, M.S.W. Voiced by Mel Chanté.

    Takeaways:
1- It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by a “things to do list,” especially if you have a lot on your plate.
2- You can reframe your tasks and obligations by adopting the attitude of “I get to do this” instead of “I have to do this.”
3- Notice how the things you do empower or support you in some way—and savor that feeling as you tackle them.
    ---
Mantra: I will savor what I get to do.

Life changing podcast

This is one of my absolute favorite podcast to start the day with. Each of the episodes always seem to come at the right time. It’s my fall under the genre of self-help, but this podcast goes beyond self-help and actually gives listeners real, concrete ways to improve their mental health and to be mentally resilient as they get ready for their day or come to the end of a long day.

Each of these episodes are not too long, between 8 to 12 minutes. There are always some sort of breathing exercise and some good advice and reminders on how to be more mentally resilient as we go about our daily lives. I often find myself sharing what I’ve learned with family and friends, which helps them deal with their own struggles and turn. I am so glad this podcast exists!
