    In today's episode, we have a special guest, John Shaw, who currently serves as the Director of Speed Development for the Wildcats program at the University of Arizona. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise in strength and conditioning, speed enhancement, and sport science to our conversation.


    John Shaw's impressive journey in the field of athletics has seen him make significant contributions at various levels. Prior to his college football coaching career, John dedicated 12 years to coaching and mentoring high school athletes in Alabama and Mississippi. John spent the previous two years as the Assistant Strength Coach at the University of Missouri, where he was responsible for Strength and Conditioning as well as Speed Enhancement for the Tigers. Additionally, he took on the role of Director of Sport Science and Mental Conditioning. He Currently leads the Arizona Wildcats' Speed Development Program. John worked as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Kansas, where he continued to refine his coaching skills.

    Shelton Stevens- Human Performance Specialist for USASOC and 13 Bar Performance

    In this episode, we had the privilege of speaking with Coach Shelton Stevens, a seasoned coach with over 16 years of experience in the field. Currently serving as a Human Performance Specialist for the United States Army Special Operations Command, Shelton is entering his 6th year in this crucial role.
    Before his tenure with the United States Military, Coach Stevens worked with various Division I institutions, making significant contributions as a strength and conditioning specialist. His journey took him through esteemed institutions such as Florida State University, Louisiana State University, Nova Southeastern University, University of Southern Mississippi, Mercer University, Arkansas State University, and Liberty University.

    Throughout his career, Coach Stevens has had the honor of training numerous male and female teams, paving the way for countless professional athletes. His own experience as a Division II collegiate baseball player at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL, adds a unique perspective to his coaching philosophy. Furthermore, he holds a Masters degree in Athletic Administration from Nova Southeastern University, demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning.

Coach Moffitt does an excellent job covering the ins and outs of Strength and Conditioning while also keeping it entertaining with stories from his early coaching days. The chemistry with each guest makes the conversation flow and they quickly get into what people want to hear. Whether you’re a personal trainer, coach, or a dad/mom looking for advice to help your son/daughter excel athletically, this is the podcast to listen too. The guy doing the intro/outro does a pretty good job too.
