The Parable Podcast with Danielle Zapchenk

Danielle Zapchenk

The Parable Podcast is a place for conversation and stories that illustrate God's presence in our everyday life. A Parable is simple story used to illustrate a lesson. We see Jesus in the Bible sharing these with others so well. And the truth is, we all have stories big or small. Sometimes they are really funny, messy or difficult …. whatever it is you can look back a specific moment or a season in your life and say without a doubt God taught me "this." Can't wait for you to listen in.

TPP #213 | My Guiding Shepherd with Mandy Loh

Send The Parable Podcast a Text Ever wonder why God doesn't just reveal his whole plan for you right away? I've been there. I think the same thing from time to time. Today you're going to meet community care coordinator Mandy Loh who shares about how she needed to trust the Good Shepherd to see things a little differently. Mandy shares her insights on balancing fun with responsibilities, the cultural differences in faith between Asia and the US, and her passion for community service. The conversation highlights the importance of being open to God's plans and the adventures that life brings. Takeaways God's guidance is about trusting Him daily, not knowing the end plan.Mandy learned to be open to God's plans rather than her own.Connect with Mandy | FaceBook Reflection Questions: Are you at a crossroads, wondering about your purpose, or maybe you're just kind of feeling rushed and flustered, just take a minute to just settle in. I'd love for you to just think about God as our good shepherd and visually immerse yourself in that picture and just take your time. If you were walking in Central Park today and a stranger told you, hey, it's just a chance to look at things differently. Maybe today is the day that you can shake things up, maybe take a walk, reflect in silence, or go talk things out with a trusted friend. Sometimes sharing your thoughts really help things readjust and our perspective can really open up.Want to Enhance Your Conversations? Remember, you can be WHOLE, FREE & JOYFUL because of Christ. Please enjoy this message wherever it may find you today. Watch the video version here Sermon Notes: MISUNDERSTANDING that HOLINESS MEANS STRICT RULES & AVOIDING FUN.  TRUTH: Holiness means living in God’s character, which definitely includes joy and fun.  As God’s obedient children, never again shape your lives by the desires that you followed when you didn’t know better. Instead, shape your lives to become like the Holy One who called you. For Scripture says: “You are to be holy, because I am holy.” 1 PETER 1:15-16 TPT TRUTH is Holiness means living in God’s character, which definitely includes joy and fun.  “If you lose your joy, you have to ask yourself, ‘Where did I last have it.’”– Bob Goff  As God’s obedient children, never again shape your lives by the desires that you followed when you didn’t know better. For Scripture says: “You are to be holy, because I am holy.” 1 PETER 1:15-16 TPT  Let the little children come to Me; do not get in their way. TPP #207 | Community is Not Optional with Danielle Zapchenk

Send The Parable Podcast a Text Do you live by the idea that our faith is personal and private? Welcome to the Parable Podcast, I’m your host Danielle Zapchenk. Today, I would like to share one of my recent messages from our home church, a series called Summer School: Relearning What Matters Most. Please enjoy this message wherever you may find yourself today. Sermon Notes My Faith is Personal AND Private My Faith is Personal NOT Private Every believer was faithfully devoted to following the teachings of the apostles. Their hearts were mutually linked to one another, sharing communion and coming together regularly for prayer. A deep sense of holy awe swept over everyone, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. All the believers were in fellowship as one body, and they shared with one another whatever they had. Out of generosity, they even sold their assets to distribute the proceeds to those who were in need among them. Daily they met together in the temple courts and in one another’s homes to celebrate communion. They shared meals together with joyful hearts and tender humility. They were continually filled with praises to God, enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were coming to life. Acts 2:42–47 (TPT)  Their hearts were mutually linked to one another  They met together in the temple and in each other’s homes.   Finally, when we live the truth out that My Faith is Personal, NOT Private.   Verse 46 says, "They shared meals together with joyful hearts and tender humility."  A deep sense of holy awe swept over everyone, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.  "And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were coming to life." Acts 2:47 (TPT)  Matthew 16:18 The Voice, “for on this rock I will build My church. The church will reign triumphant even at the gates of hell.”  When we stop be secretive and tiptoe around faith for ourselves." The Greek word for church – Ekklēsia Reflection Questions  1. What are my misunderstandings? In what ways am I keeping my faith Confidential, secret, nobody’s business? 2. How do I want to gather this Fall, possibly with a friend over coffee once a month, talk about faith, or in a small group setting?  Watch the service video here Want to Enhance Your Conversations?
