The Breathtaking Promise - Friendship With God (E38)

What if the deepest answer to your uncertainty isn’t more information—but more intimacy with God? Friendship. With God. In this episode of The Pert Plan, Pam explores what it means to move beyond simply knowing about God to truly knowing Him—and why that kind of relationship can become an anchor when life feels uncertain. And sometimes the greatest steadiness comes when you can say: I don’t know what God is doing but I know Him. This episode is part of The Pert Plan™, a Christian mental health podcast  grounded in biblical truth and evidence-based wisdom to help you challenge lies, renew your mind, and grow courageous faith. God Isn't Mad at You - But Why Does It Feel Like He Is? (E37)

What if you know God loves you… but somewhere deep down, you still wonder if He’s disappointed in you? Maybe something went wrong. A prayer wasn’t answered the way you hoped. You made a mistake. Life got hard. And almost without realizing it, you started wondering: Is God mad at me? In this episode of The Pert Plan™, we’re talking about where that fear comes from, what it does to our relationship with God, and what Scripture actually shows us about the heart of God. Because when you want to know what God is like, there is one very important place to look. And it might change the way you interpret what happens next. Trust Often Grows Slowly (Summer Series 6) E36

As we wrap up our Summer Pause Series from Waiting Without Falling Apart, we’re ending with an important reminder: Trust rarely grows all at once. More often, God forms deep trust quietly—through ordinary days, repeated surrender, and His daily faithfulness. When we don’t see dramatic change, it’s easy to believe we’re not growing. But Scripture reminds us that God’s work is often happening beneath the surface. Lamentations 3:22 says, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.” In this final summer episode, we’ll talk about: * Why spiritual growth is usually gradual * How healing is often measured by how we respond, not whether we struggle * Why remembering God’s past faithfulness strengthens our trust for the future * How small, faithful steps become lasting transformation We’ll also look back over the themes we’ve explored throughout this series: waiting, uncertainty, disappointment, honest questions, and learning to trust God one day at a time. Thank you for spending the summer with me. My prayer is that these reflections have encouraged you to remain faithful in whatever season you’re walking through. “Waiting Without Falling Apart” devotional is available on Amazon if you’d like to continue reading the devotionals beyond this series. We’ll return with brand-new episodes after Labor Day. Until then, may you find rest in God’s presence, wisdom for your next step, and peace as you learn to trust Him one day at a time. If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who may need this reminder today. God Is Not Threatened By Your Questions (Summer Series 5) E35

Have you ever been afraid to pray the questions you were really thinking? Maybe you’ve wondered: “God, where are You?” “Why didn’t You answer?” “I don’t understand what You’re doing.” Many Christians quietly believe that asking difficult questions means they lack faith. But Scripture tells a different story. In today’s Summer Pause Series devotional from Waiting Without Falling Apart, we’ll explore the difference between questioning God and questioning His character—and why God invites us to bring our honest hearts to Him. Psalm 62:8 says, “Pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.” Throughout Scripture, we see David, Habakkuk, Jeremiah, and even John the Baptist bringing their honest questions before the Lord. God wasn’t threatened by their honesty, and He isn’t threatened by yours. In this episode, we’ll discuss: • Why honest questions are not rebellion • The difference between seeking understanding and doubting God’s character • How prayer invites God into our deepest fears and uncertainties • Why your questions can become an opportunity to draw closer to God If you’ve been carrying unanswered questions alone, I hope this episode reminds you that your refuge isn’t found in having every answer—it’s found in the God who welcomes you with compassion, truth, and grace. If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who may need this reminder today. You Can Grieve What You Hoped Would Happen (Summer Series 4) E34

Disappointment is part of living in a fallen world—but many Christians quietly wonder whether grief means they’re lacking faith. In today’s Summer Pause Series and devotional from “Waiting Without Falling Apart”, we’re talking about the losses that don’t always come with a funeral: the prayers that seemed unanswered, the dreams that never unfolded, the relationships that changed, and the future we imagined but never received. Scripture never asks us to pretend we’re okay. Instead, God invites us to bring our honest sorrow to Him.  Psalm 34:18 reminds us: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” In this episode, we’ll explore: • Why disappointment deserves honesty • Why lament is not the opposite of faith • How healing often begins by naming what we’ve been carrying • Why trusting God and grieving can exist together If you’ve been minimizing your pain or telling yourself you should “just get over it,” this episode is for you. If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who may need this reminder today. Fear Demands Guarantees (Summer Series 3) E33

We often believe peace will come once every question is answered. But fear is never satisfied with one more answer—it always wants one more guarantee. In this week’s Summer Pause episode from Waiting Without Falling Apart, we’ll explore the difference between seeking wisdom and demanding certainty, and why lasting peace is found in trusting God’s character rather than knowing every outcome.  Are you seeking wisdom…or absolute certainty? If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who may need this reminder today. You Do Not Need Full Clarity to Remain Faithful (Summer Series 2) E32

We often want God to show us the entire plan before we’re willing to move. But Scripture tells a different story. In this week’s Summer Pause episode from Pam's devotional, "Waiting Without Falling Apart", we’ll explore why God often gives us enough light for the next step—not the next ten years. If you’ve been overthinking a decision, waiting for certainty, or afraid of making the wrong choice, this episode is for you. What faithful step is in front of you today? If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who may need this reminder today. Waiting Does Not Mean Abandonment (Summer Series 1) E31

Have you ever wondered if God’s silence means He’s stopped listening? In today’s short summer devotional from "Waiting Without Falling Apart", we’re talking about one of the hardest parts of waiting: when heaven seems quiet. If you’ve ever found yourself thinking: Maybe God has forgotten me… Maybe He’s disappointed in me… Maybe He’s not listening… this episode is for you. We’ll look at how Scripture reminds us that God’s silence is not the same as His absence—and why waiting often becomes the place where He is doing His deepest work.
