Can Chelsea topple red-hot Villa? Can Man Utd function without Bruno?

Jimbo, Duncan Alexander, Art De Roché and more bring you the final Totally Football Show before Christmas. Man United and Newcastle contest the only Boxing Day fixture with the Red Devils having to do without the injured Bruno Fernandes. The headline fixture of the weekend sees Aston Villa aiming for an 11th win in a row as they travel to Chelsea. Jacob Tanswell tells us about a seven day spell that could really cement Villa’s status as title-challengers. Arsenal will look to take more points against Brighton than they did last season while Man City travel to the City Ground, where it all began for the Haalands in English football. Elsewhere, there are fixtures between Sunderland & Leeds and Burnley & Everton with greater historical significance than you might realise. Plus Maher Mezahi joins us from Morocco to recap the first two days of AFCON, filled with sensational overhead kicks and catastrophic back flips. Produced by Charlie Jones RUNNING ORDER:  • PART 1: Forgettable Fulham Forest and Football Manager (02.30) • PART 2a: Man United v Newcastle preview (09.00)  • PART 2b: Nottingham Forest v Man City preview (15.30) • PART 2c: Chelsea v Aston Villa preview with Jacob Tanswell (18.30) • PART 2d: Arsenal v Brighton preview (29.00) • PART 3a: Liverpool v Wolves preview (33.00) • PART 3b: Sunderland v Leeds preview (36.00) • PART 3c: The rest of the Premier League weekend (40.00) • PART 4: AFCON latest with Maher Mezahi (44.00) Hosted on Acast. Barca, Bayern and Inter top the tree + Fiorentina finally win!

Jimbo’s got helpers James Horncastle, Seb Stafford-Bloor & Pol Ballús alongside him for some pre-Christmas cheer of a European variety. We begin in La Liga, where it’s as you were at the top of the table with Barca navigating the tricky trip to Villarreal to come away with all three points to keep their advantage at the top of the table. Real’s win over Sevilla helps ease the pressure on Xabi Alonso - but is Vini Jr’s future in more serious doubt?  The shock scoreline across the continent was perhaps recorded in Florence, where having gone 210 days without a Serie A win - Fiorentina only went and put five past Udinese! Plus, Lois Openda ended his Juve goalscoring drought in their win over Roma to make things even tighter at the top.  We touch base with events in France, Portugal, Turkey and the Netherlands - including the mounting troubles for Robin van Persie, Coupe de France storylines and lone Portuguese superfans!  And in Germany -  Bayern Munich continued their remarkable form with a 4-0 thrashing of Heidenheim - featuring Harry Kane’s 100th goal involvement in record quick time. Is the sky the limit for Vincent Kompany’s side this season?  Produced by Lucy Oliva. We begin with events in the three midweek League Cup quarter-final ties - which saw Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle progress to the semi's, soon to be joined by either Arsenal or Crystal Palace. There was Cherki's outrageous strike, Garnacho showing his class - and more injury woes for Eddie Howe to navigate. Then it's full steam ahead with the weekend's PL action. Can the Gunners arrest their poor away form when they make the trip to take on Everton on Saturday evening? And will Tottenham v Liverpool live up to its chaotic and free-scoring reputation?! Advantage Inter, Bayern’s late show - and a reprieve for Alonso at Real?

Jimbo’s got the Euro crew alongside him for a dive into the wild and wonderful world of football from across the continent…  We start in Italy, where the title race took yet more twists and turns as Milan and Napoli both dropped points to allow Inter to take top spot. Plus - Fiorentina’s plight deepens after their latest defeat leaves them eight points from safety in Serie A.   Over in Germany, Bayern had a scare as they were staring down the barrel of defeat to bottom of the table Mainz, before - of course - Harry Kane stepped up to convert a penalty and take a point back to Munich… and somehow still manage to extend their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table!  And in La Liga - Real Madrid picked up a precious three points at Alaves with Xabi Alonso’s job reportedly on the line. But Barcelona stay four points clear after Raphinha’s double made it seven wins in a row for the league leaders.  All that plus ground-hopping recommendations, favourite insults, private emails - and emotional goodbyes.  Produced by Lucy Oliva.  RUNNING ORDER:  • PART 1: Moments of the weekend - but first, an announcement (00.35) • PART 2: Serie A review - Inter take advantage as Fiorentina despair deepens (14.30) • PART 3: Bundesliga review - Kane strikes late, Jobe sees red (30.50) • PART 4: Ligue 1 review - Lens top for Christmas, not so nice for Nice (42.50) • PART 5: La Liga review - Alonso safe… for now - while Espanyol impress (44.30) Hosted on Acast. Derby delight for Sunderland, misery for Spurs and City & Villa keep on winning

Jimbo invites Daniel Storey, Reuben Pinder and Colin Millar for a Sunday night scour through the Premier League weekend. In the title race, Man City dispose admirably of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, while Villa make it a remarkable 10 wins from 11 league matches by beating West Ham. But it's a far more nervy victory for leaders Arsenal who survive an almighty scare in stoppage time from basement boys Wolves. The first Premier League Wear-Tyne derby in a decade is decided by a Nick Woltemade own goal as Sunderland's sensational season just gets better and better. But why are Newcastle so feeble going forward? But Tottenham's campaign takes a turn for the worse as they're thrashed 3-0 by Forest at the City Ground. Was this a performance that gets managers sacked? Plus Mo Salah's off to AFCON, Dominic Calvert-Lewin's on fire and Enzo Maresca is very unhappy with someone. Produced by Charlie Jones RUNNING ORDER:  • PART 1: Brentford 1-1 Leeds and a congested table (01.30) • PART 2a: Crystal Palace 0-3 Man City (08.30)  • PART 2b: West Ham 2-3 Aston Villa (15.00) • PART 3a: Sunderland 1-0 Newcastle with Michael Walker (25.00) • PART 3b: Nottingham Forest 3-0 Spurs (35.00) • PART 4a: Arsenal 2-1 Wolves (45.00) • PART 4b: Liverpool 2-0 Brighton (51.00) • PART 4c: Chelsea 2-0 Everton (58.00) • PART 4d: Burnley 2-3 Fulham (66.00) Hosted on Acast. Real lose again, Arsenal stay perfect + it’s Sunderland v Newcastle!

Jimbo's got Jay Harris, Jack Lang and Mark Carey in tow for a round up of all of Wednesday night's Champions League action - and a look ahead to the weekend's Premier League festivities. We've got the fallout from Manchester City's 2-1 win at Real Madrid - who are now on a run of just two wins in their last eight matches in all competitions. So is Xabi Alonso's job still well and truly under threat? Plus, Madueke shines as Arsenal maintain their perfect UCL campaign so far in their 3-0 win at Club Brugge - while it's the curse of the late goal again for Newcastle as they were held to a 2-2 draw out in Leverkusen. Plenty to look forward to this weekend in *our* league - including the first Premier League Wear-Tyne derby at the Stadium of Light in just over 10 years! Chris Weatherspoon is with us to gauge the excitement in and around Sunderland ahead of the game. Elsewhere - can Palace finally beat Pep at Selhurst? Will Villa show they're serious title contenders when they travel to West Ham? And can Everton beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 1994?! All that plus Tom Hanks films, manager WhatsApp groups and poorly-timed water breaks. Produced by Charlie Jones and Lucy Oliva.
