We learn about their dream to open up their own med spa, their background in a military and nursing family, and their craziest experiences on shift, including a surprise delivery and ingested magnets. D, Sarah, and Jenna chat stories from their days in school, including showing up late to class with Starbucks (we’ve all been there).
From Nanoparticles to NICU Babies with Dr. Kate, MD
This week’s guest is neonatologist Dr. Kate! Passionate about babies and baby physiology, she splits her time between being an attendant in the NICU and the lab where she studies inflammation biology and nanoparticles for therapy. In today's episode, she and host D get into the joys (and sometimes woes) of working in the NICU, gush over the cuteness of preemies, and express their appreciation for NICU nurses.

The two also talk about the need for mental health training throughout the medical field, the downsides of outpatient community health centers, and incidences of police mishandling mental health emergency calls.
The Heart of the Matter with Dr. Hafiza Khan
This week’s guest is Dr. Hafiza Khan. Hafiza is a cardiac electrophysiologist or in other words, a specialist in how the heart beats! Episode on Resilience
This episode was so encouraging to me! I’m currently a FT physical therapist assistant (PTA), at a nursing home in Nebraska, mom of two young children (still pumping at work for my 7 month old son 💪🏻), and I’m working towards nursing school. The therapy world so going to hell in a hand basket, and I’ve made the tough decision to switch careers. I start my CNA class tomorrow, and love listening to your pod! Thank you!
