The beauty industry has changed dramatically in the last 10 years.

The days of hoping your good reputation and referrals was enough to grow or maintain your clientele died out and successful stylists today need a real marketing strategy.

It's actually never been easier to grow a clientele as a hair stylist or a business as a salon owner, yet stylists are giving up or struggling more often than they are thriving in this incredible industry.

When I was first building my clientele, I realized immediately that nobody was teaching true business skills and long term strategies to stylists or salon owners. What good is a license and an entrepreneurial passion without the skills and knowledge to actually make big things happen?

The Thriving Stylist podcast is a collection of interviews from super successful but not yet famous stylists, one-on-one coaching opportunities and actionable, strategic marketing techniques that you can use in your business today to see real results.

I'm Britt Seva, Social Media & Marketing Strategist for Hair Stylists and I look forward to helping you to create a wealthy life as a stylist.

Where has she been!?

Wow. Just wow. Britt has opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of what I can do. I wish I had known of her when I first started in hair school but better late than never ! I’ve never had someone so clearly describe and help me with all throngs from House life, work life, goal setting, like Britt does for me. She truly understands what is stylists want AND need even when it’s not something we want to hear. Thank you, Britt, my journey is finally beginning 💓

A must listen for any hairstylist

First, I don’t write reviews, but this was a must for me. As a struggling stylist I was looking for someone/ something to help light the fire in me. This podcast has done that! Britt is real and genuine, she’s that super honest but also supportive friend everyone needs. She’s informative, innovative and savvy. I always thought that because I graduated right in the middle of the recession I was never going to make this a real living but Britt has shown me that with the right strategy and the drive I can do great thing for myself and my family. Thank you Britt!

50 years and counting?! Hair Apropos

Hi Britt and Team,
I want to start off by saying how transformative your podcast has been for me! Love listening! I joined the podcast world back in February... yes I’m very late to the game! I’m 45 yrs old, 2 high school boys and husband who owns his own business in Contracting (btw it’s helped him too!) my father started this business in 1970, he cuts hair just a few days a week and he’s 73! We own Hair Apropos and it’s family (literally) my sister does spa/nails/makeup (she’s a product of corporate world and worked in World Trade 2. I’m a former special education teacher turned stylist back in 2007. My mother manages for the past 40 years. We have a small salon outside of Philadelphia PA and have 6 stylists total, 2 young girls shampoo and assistant (in school still) and a receptionist. 2 nail/makeup/spa techs. I’ve really been trying to implement things from the podcast, I bought the website academy ( I’m trying to make that commitment to get it done, truth be told it scares the heck out of me!) I’ve really started posting in Facebook and Instagram michellehairapropos. I just paid and went to a class( by myself) to the_blondologist. It was transforming! I’m so excited! I know I do great work, I’m good at communicating and listening, btw I’m an A and C! But the marketing is where we are failing. We are trying to change that around... I’m trying to make time. This question is two fold. Our stylists have been with us for a long time, one 30 years another 10 years. How do I try to get them motivated, are they not bc we aren’t? Also this is family owned, have you ever coached to that? How do we transition when the time comes, not that it is yet but it’s hard to know what to do! I’m looking forward, fingers crossed to joining Thrivers this fall... I hope I get in, I’m committed and want to be all in, this mindset has changed in the 7 months. Greatly bc of your podcast, I really resonate with what you say! Looking forward to hearing more!
xoxo
