Crime never takes a day off, and neither does Parcast. Every day, we flip back the calendar and examine a true crime event from the same date. It might be the anniversary of an important case being solved, the end of a landmark trial, or a serial killer’s birthday-- whatever the date, there’s no ordinary day in true crime history. In each episode, we present a short true crime story, then analyze the impact of that historic day’s events. Today in True Crime is a Parcast Original, with new episodes daily.

Repetitive Call To Actions

This is an amazing podcast and find myself waiting impatiently on each episode of several of Parcast productions. As someone who spends majority of my day listening to podcasts - I am annoyed by the continuous release of new shows vs episodes of my followed faves. The stories have changed and so have the voices - this could be because of the new mics. I also notice that some of the background sounds are inappropriately placed and can overpower the narrators. Also, PLEASE get guest hosts that meet the tone of the productions. As soon as the guest host began on this recent release, I marked the episode played and moved on to my other new episodes. Since I follow ALL of Parcast productions, marking the preview of Political Scandal from every single show as played became a task of annoyance. I realize for reach and marketing it’s necessary, but the excitement of a new episode is diminished by the repetition. Lastly, I find that a few of the Today In True Crime episodes are only shorts from the full episodes on other shows such as Serial Killers and Female Criminals. This could totally be intentional to drive traffic, but still a grievance for this regular listener.

How much is actually "true?"

I enjoy the crime choices and Vanessa's reading style, but after a couple months of listening, I'm going to stop. Parcast, especially in this pocast, takes too many liberties with the "true" part of true crime.

The writing includes a heavy amount of fictionalizing. Describing goosebumps on the arms of victims or conversations before someone is killed. There's a lot of information shared about victims that there's no way we'd no it so it has to be fictionalized.

In such a short podcast, I wish all of the time was devoted to facts. This style leaves me questioning what's real and what the writers have fabricated.
