503 | Girl to Girl… Love Will Find You Soon

Girl to girl… I hope the love you pray for finds you soon. Not the surface-level kind. Not the kind that looks good but leaves you confused. I’m talking about the kind of love that lets you exhale. The kind that feels steady, safe, and certain. The kind that doesn’t make you question how you show up. In this episode, Tyra is having a real, honest conversation about being in the in-between — that space where you’re no longer going back to what hurt you, but you haven’t yet stepped into the love you desire. This week’s Affirmation is: “I will not sabatoge what I prayed for.” Tyra opens up about: Letting go of “almost” and “potential”Why going backwards is not an option when God already pulled you outThe difference between love and emotional attachmentHow inconsistency creates confusion (and why that’s not love)Trusting that your heart isn’t “too much”—it’s intentional Community Connection Links Sign up for the Community Newsletter!: www.tyrathecreative.com/podcast Join the AFBG Book Club: https://tyrathecreative.myflodesk.com/xkz6bzvn29  Shop the AFBG Merch!: http://tyrathecreative.com/merch Letters From Listeners Form: https://forms.gle/yqwdsBuRBjXQm9Xw7 Subscriber Survey: https://forms.gle/m4AD2YaYbGhd8gEv6 Resources Shop Tyra’s Favorites: https://www.amazon.com/shop/tyrathecreative Here’s a free trial of ClassPass (with 20 bonus credits!): https://shop.tyrathecreative.com/classpass  Listen to Lofi Beats for Deep Focus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfBhamgkCww&t=2222s  Defeating Doubt Playlist https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/defeating-doubt/pl.u-PDb408VtJyb1Po  Wanna give therapy a try? 2951: Slow Reps vs. Fast Reps — What the Data Actually Says (The Answer Has Nuance)

MAPS Abs and Butt: https://mapsabsandbutt.com Code: LAUNCH for 40% off. Includes Butt Building Diet Guide, Women's Supplement Guide, at-home dumbbell version and a free second program at checkout (Muscle Mommy or Muscle Mommy 15).   In this episode the guys break down rep speed — slow reps, fast reps and pause reps — and what the data actually says. They cover why saying it doesn't matter for hypertrophy misses the nuance completely, why injury risk alone makes rep speed matter enormously, why slow reps are essential for mind muscle connection and targeted esthetics, when moving fast matters for performance and everyday functionality, and why the novelty effect of switching rep speeds over time likely builds more muscle long term. Adam also shares why he does fasted cardio even though studies say it doesn't matter for fat loss — and why all the behavioral cascades it creates are the real reason it works. They cover the explosive growth of the electrolyte powder market (LMNT went from $7 million in 2020 to $206 million in 2023 and created the category), reading Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs and why respect and love are fundamentally different needs for men and women, the challenges vegans face hitting protein and why Organifi plant protein is the best vegan protein they've used, and the upcoming Mind Pump pickleball tournament. Then they coach live callers submitted through mplivecaller.com.   SPONSORS   LMNT (electrolytes): https://drinklmnt.com/MindPump Free sample pack with any purchase, no code needed. Deep dive on air — how LMNT created the electrolyte powder category and grew from $7M to $206M in three years.   Organifi (plant protein): https://organifi.com/mindpump Code: MINDPUMP for 20% off. Best vegan protein any of them have used — well formulated amino acid profile, glyphosate free, low heavy metals, easy to digest and actually tastes good.   LINKS Submit a live caller question: https://mplivecaller.com Mind Pump Store: https://mindpumpstore.com Maps Fitness Products: https://mapsfitnessproducts.com Instagram: @mindpumpmedia   0:00 - Intro 2:25 - Slow reps vs. fast reps vs. pause reps — what the data actually says 5:48 - Why slow reps are essential for technique, safety and mind muscle connection 9:23 - Injury risk is the biggest reason rep speed matters — and why studies miss this 14:28 - Why you need to train speed too — what happens when you never move fast 21:22 - The novelty effect — why changing rep speeds over time builds more muscle long term 23:24 - Why Adam does fasted cardio even though studies say it doesn't matter 28:10 - LMNT and the electrolyte powder market — from $7M to $206M in three years 36:19 - Furnace Fest and why it's the one thing Justin looks forward to all year 38:03 - Love and Respect — the book Sal is reading with his wife and why it clicked 48:08 - The challenges vegans face hitting protein and why Organifi plant protein is the best 53:02 - Mind Pump pickleball tournament — who is the best on the team 56:24 - AI conspiracy twist — Sal's take on why OpenAI and Anthropic are asking for regulation 1:04:44 - Caller: Matilda (Singapore) — returning caller, period back after one month, now gaining weight on 2700 calories, wants to drop tracking and switch programs 1:12:08 - Caller: Malia (Illinois) — type 1 diabetes, 20,000 steps a day, 1800 calories, DEXA not improving, gets coaching referral 1:26:05 - Caller: Shell (Pennsylvania) — full time RV dweller, wakes at 2am to work, DEXA getting worse every time, sleep is the clear issue 1:42:29 - Caller: Andrew (Washington) — CrossFit background, plant based, 1700 calories, rucking daily, losing lean mass on DEXA, overtrained and underfed

407: Can't get it up, keep it up, or cum when you want? (ft. Dr. Luke Adler)

Globally, hundreds of millions of men contend with erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and delayed ejaculation. One 2021 US national survey found an overall ED prevalence rate in men of around 24% — that’s nearly one in four. But even in men’s work spaces (men’s groups, retreats, etc.), one rarely hears these topics discussed. Why? In a word: shame. Here, Luke and I debrief our recent course, Sexual Mastery, and what patterns we saw in terms of what it actually takes to heal sexual dysfunction — from ED to delayed ejaculation — in a lasting way. Spoiler: it's not just a pill or a breathing technique. And it's definitely not about drilling your dick into submission. We also touch on an unexpected edge that several men had to lean into in order to start having the sex lives they've always wanted, and how your unprocessed grief about your father — yes, really — might have everything to do with your erection. If you've ever felt like something's off but couldn't name it — or, when it comes to your penis, like you've tried the "logical" fixes and they haven't worked — this one's for you. --- Work with usReady to go deeper than the podcast and take action? Jason and I will help you break old patterns and transform your sex & love life for good. To see if you're a fit for our flagship program, Pillars of Presence, book a call here. Start anytime. (https://evolutionary.men/apply/) --- Memorable quotes from this episode:"You can't drill the dick into obeying. It requires care."“Shame is one of the most uncomfortable sensations in the body.”“We were going to have to traverse the shadowland.”"What is more insulting to a man, with all of that conditioning, than not being able to have control of your penis? Fuck, if that is not painful."“As one man took the leap … it was an irresistible magnet to pull the next man in.”"I remember thinking: this man's whole life is different now. He cannot go back to the way that things were."“It was probably the most transformative, creative artistic experience I’ve ever been a part of.”"All an emotion is, is cellular vitality and blood flow. At a physical level. At a spiritual level, it's a raw sense of aliveness — your essence vibrating through you."

Black women are socialized to over-give, do the emotional lifting, take care of everyone, give 175% on the job and WE ARE TIRED!! I'm talking about unlaboring as a way to pull back from these systems that drain Black women's energy and instead invest that bandwidth into ourselves, rest, community, creativity, joy and other things we care about. • Session 481: What Worth Actually Means with Dr. Marisa Franco

Session 481: What Worth Actually Means with Dr. Marisa Franco

Dr. Marisa Franco is back, and this time she's turning her attention from friendship to something underneath it: self-worth. Her new book, Worth: The New Science of Self-Esteem and Secure Attachment, starts with a confession. While her relationship was falling apart, she was performing security, saying all the right things, staying calm, doing everything the books tell you to do, while quietly abandoning what she actually felt. She and Dr. Joy talk through why that kind of self-abandonment is so familiar to Black women in particular, and what it costs us. The conversation moves through what Dr. Franco calls the difference between the good twin and the bad twin of high self-esteem, both of whom say they feel good about themselves, but only one of whom can sit with a hard feeling instead of pushing it away. She explains why insecurity isn't a flaw so much as a coping strategy our brains developed to protect us from repeat harm, and introduces memory reconsolidation, the idea that revisiting an old memory with care can actually change its emotional charge and help you feel safer moving forward. They also dig into stigma, identity stretching, and what happens when we spend our lives chronically evaluating ourselves against an ideal we didn't choose. Dr. Franco talks about raising kids with real self-worth instead of just confidence, why chasing achievement often keeps us from feeling anything at all, and what it means to aim for secure-ish instead of secure.
