Leah and Melissa break down the administration’s latest lawsuits, from the DOJ’s fight over Alaska’s Senate candidacy, to its efforts to force California to turn over voter information, to Trump’s golf course fiasco. They also recap the latest developments at the Supreme Court, including a lower court ruling on New Hampshire’s election guidance for student IDs and the Court’s decision not to hear a significant copyright dispute out of the Fifth Circuit. Plus, they unpack the administration’s seemingly endless legal corruption, from Alina Habba to Vivek Ramaswamy’s disgusting Ohio campaign ads targeting his opponent, Amy Acton. The Daily Blast: Trump Rages Viciously at Young Female Journo—and Even Fox Is Cringing

Donald Trump seethed wildly at NBC reporter Monica Alba after she asked him tough questions about his support for that vile ad attacking Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton for supposedly lying about her past. Alba pointed out that Acton’s childhood involved “serious sexual abuse allegations,” prompting Trump to bark “quiet!” at Alba, rage that she’s being “fresh,” and belittle her as a “horrible little reporter.” It’s notable that Alba is relatively young given her level of success, because Trump is always most vicious towards young female reporters. This all comes as even Fox News figures are growing very uncomfortable with the ad and Trump’s backing of it, as Media Matters documents. We talked to Nicole Hemmer, historian of the right-wing media and the conservative movement. We discuss how Trump uses young female reporters as foils, how he and MAGA are deploying open misogyny as a Hail Mary in the midterms, how this is rooted in older right-wing formulations, and how he’s still trapped in the cultural moment of 2024.  Looking for More from the DSR Network? Navanetham ‘Navi' Pillay, 2026 Nobel Peace Prize winner

“When we suffered under apartheid, those were immoral laws, they institutionalised racism. Where could we go for relief? And I yearned for a better system of law based on values.” Waihiga Mwaura talks to Navanetham or 'Navi' Pillay who has been awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. The daughter of a bus driver, Navi grew up in segregated South Africa witnessing racial and gender discrimination on a daily basis. Determined to become a lawyer she spent decades representing political prisoners of the apartheid era and was the first non white woman to be appointed to South Africa’s high court. She went on to represent the victims of the Rwanda genocide as a judge on the UN-backed International Criminal Tribunal and was elected to the International Court of Justice. She also chaired a UN commission investigating human rights violations in Gaza. The Nobel committee said the award recognises Pillay’s lifetime of work, praising her commitment to universal legal principles and her firm moral compass. The Interview brings you conversations with people shaping our world, from all over the world. The best interviews from the BBC, including episodes with the president of the ICRC, Mirijana Spolaric and the former Australian prime minister minister Julia Gillard, plus many others. You can listen on the BBC World Service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 0800 GMT. Or you can listen to The Interview as a podcast, out three times a week on BBC Sounds or wherever you get your podcasts. 314.

• The Workplace Is a Dictatorship? - ft. Elizabeth Anderson

The Workplace Is a Dictatorship? - ft. Elizabeth Anderson

At the center of our market economy sits an institution that runs more like a dictatorship. The firm you work for writes the rules and enforces them. There is no vote, no appeal, and no constitution. The only real remedy is to leave. University of Michigan philosopher Elizabeth Anderson, author of "Private Government" and "Hijacked: How Neoliberalism Turned the Work Ethic Against Workers," argues we spent centuries building limits on rulers who held this much power over people's daily lives, and built almost nothing for the place where most of that life is actually spent.  "Hijacked: How Neoliberalism Turned the Work Ethic Against Workers and How Workers Can Take It Back": https://www.cambridge.org/core/books/hijacked/E7E4A7D850C1E7289BA7AAF910455136 "Private Government: How Employers Rule Our Lives": https://press.princeton.edu/books/hardcover/9780691176512/private-government?srsltid=AU7gw4XkqB24hl23B55i5Stpj4twB-lI8JX8SWqtj09h0AO22q1dBlGl  Connect with us: 📺 Subscribe to our YouTube Channel 📱 Follow Capitalisn’t on Instagram & TikTok ✉️ Email your questions and comments to capitalisntpod@gmail.com  Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
