The Woman You Become When You Learn to Be Alone | Mid Week Tease

When was the last time you spent time alone without reaching for your phone, filling the silence, or asking someone else what they think? This week on The Mid Week Tease, Adelle Onyango explores how solitude and silence can help women reconnect with themselves, rediscover what they actually want, and rebuild trust in their own intuition. From the expectations placed on women to constantly be available to others, to the discomfort that can arise when everything finally goes quiet, this episode is an invitation to get curious about the relationship you have with yourself. In this episode, Adelle unpacks: Why being alone can feel uncomfortable when we've spent years prioritizing other people's needs. How silence can help us recognize our own preferences, desires, and boundaries. The difference between intuition, fear, and anxiety. Why solitude and loneliness aren't the same thing, and why needing connection is human. Five practical ways to create more intentional moments of solitude in your everyday life. Because learning to enjoy your own company isn't about becoming a woman who needs nobody. It's about becoming a woman who knows herself. Hey Inbetweeners! How’s your Friday going? Thank you for tuning in once again! In today’s episode, we’re talking about relationship timelines. Is there actually an appropriate time for different milestones in a relationship? When should you or your partner say “I love you”? When is it okay to have access to your partner’s account? When should you move in together, have sex, talk about your salary or debts, or meet each other’s family and friends? We’re getting into all this and more based of our own opinions and experiences. She Quit School, Moved Countries & Questioned Everything She Believed | Legally Clueless Ep 395

How do you figure out what you want to do with your life when nothing seems to quite fit? In Part 1 of Lisa Gaitho’s story, she takes us from a playful childhood growing up in Nairobi West to a high school experience she desperately wanted to escape and into years of trying to figure out where she belonged. Lisa tried journalism. She tried hotel and restaurant management. She eventually found culinary school, which took her from Nairobi to South Africa. But when she returned home ready to begin her career, the reality she encountered made her question whether this was the life she wanted after all. Suddenly, she was back home watching the people around her move forward while she wrestled with one overwhelming question: What am I actually doing with my life? Lisa speaks candidly about the pressure she put on herself to have everything figured out, feeling like she was wasting time, and how dark that period of uncertainty became. And just when she has no idea what comes next, she meets someone who will take her life in a completely unexpected direction. This is Part 1 of Lisa’s three-part story. She Quit School, Moved Countries & Questioned Everything She Believed PART 2 | Legally Clueless Ep 396

Lisa moved to Nigeria for love. But what happens when the life you move into leaves little room for you to be yourself? In Part 2 of Lisa Gaitho’s story, we pick up where we left off: Lisa is back in Kenya, unsure of what to do next, when she meets a boyfriend and decides to move to Nigeria. What follows is a very different life from the one she grew up knowing. Living with her boyfriend’s family, Lisa encounters unfamiliar cultural expectations, struggles with the pressure to conform, and begins to feel increasingly disconnected from herself. Eventually, she returns to Kenya, where her search for belonging takes another unexpected turn. She becomes deeply involved in Christianity, only to begin questioning some of the beliefs she had embraced. This part of Lisa’s story explores relationships, identity, faith and what happens when finding your place in the world starts to feel like losing yourself. Brian & Charity (Re-Upload for NON-SPOTIFY users) - S7 | E5

Everyone in their corner of Kisumu knew Brian's name. Tall, sharp-tongued, and effortlessly charming, he had girls lining up, and never seemed to slow down long enough to choose just one. Then came Charity. Cool, composed, and completely unmoved by his lure, she was the one girl who didn't fall in line, and that, more than anything, is what pulled Brian in. What follows is a story about what happens when the right person walks into a life that wasn't built for commitment, and how a single, high-stakes turn of events forced two young individuals to grow up fast and decide, together, what kind of future they actually wanted. The "Agony Aunt Special" Episode ft. Hauwa Lawal

This week, we’re joined by the incredibly hilarious and multi-talented Hauwa Lawal for a special 3-hr Agony Aunt episode. Before the dilemmas, we talk about the realities of running a business in Nigeria, Hauwa’s journey into content creation and why we need to be talking about our history a lot more. Then we get into the crazy entries, from friendship boundaries and telling your friend how you really feel about their parenting, to old flames making very inconvenient reappearances and the age-old problem of sleeping with your best friend and accidentally developing feelings. Safe to say, we had quite a lot to work with. As always, there are strong opinions, slightly questionable advice and loads of laughs. We hope you enjoy this episode, brought to you by our friends at Kuda and Busha Busha Busha! I Thought I’d Marry Him. Then I Learned the Truth PART 2 | Legally Cueless Ep 393

What happens when you see the red flags, ask the questions and even find some of the answers but you’re still not ready to let go of the future you imagined with someone? In Part 2 of Ann’s story, we pick up after Ann discovers the first lie in a relationship she believes is leading to marriage. As the relationship continues, Ann and her partner move in together and begin imagining a future. But alongside those plans come more questions. Other women. Stories that don’t quite add up. Moments that leave Ann searching for answers and wondering whether she can trust what she’s being told. Ann takes us through moving in together, investigating one of the women she suspects is connected to her partner, walking away from the relationship, finding her footing in her career, and eventually finding her way back to him. Years into their relationship, they begin seriously talking about marriage and the life they want to build together. And then, seemingly out of nowhere, he tells Ann he has lost interest in her. In this episode, Adelle also shares some of your responses to the question: What’s one lesson your 30s have given you so far? and teases the conversations we’ll be having at For Mannerless Women Live about identity, love, friendship, career, boundaries, starting over and learning to choose yourself. This is Part 2 of Ann’s three-part story. The final part continues next Monday.
