More raised eyebrows at the Annapolis City Dock plan. The HFestival is returning to Nationals Park in September. The Chesapeake Beach Water Park announced it will not open this season to undergo some renovations. The Military Bowl will be back here on December 28th with a parade and a prime-time game on ESPN--kick-off is at 5:45 pm. We have a long list of events for you to consider, and our Local Business Spotlight drops at noon on Saturday with Kona Ice. And we meet Poppy in our Canines & Crosstreks segment!

The Anne Arundel County Register of Wills, Erica Griswold, has pleaded guilty to Misconduct in Office. The Anne Arundel County Public Schools have developed an app for students, parents, staff, and the public, and it is pretty good. If you are looking for a toe-tapping, great band, look no further than Scythian! I "discovered" them at the first Annapolis Irish Festival and have been a fan ever since. Not an Irish band per-se, but there are some hints.
Danylo Fedoryka is the co-founder of Scythian with his brother Alex and will be at Rams Head On Stage for one show on Friday, June 7th. We interrupted Danylo's vacation (the first one in 12 years) to talk about Scythin and their roots (their parents emigrated from Ukraine) and how their sound is an eclectic mix between Ukrainian, Celtic, Americana, Roots, Ska, and even a bit of Bulgarian!

We talked about what to expect in an intimate show versus a festival and their other projects, such as the Appaloosa Festival over Labor Day Weekend, their String Break Cruise, and a trip to Ireland.
If you have never seen them, do yourself a favor-- and Dan even offered an enticement of "free advice" for listeners that buy a ticket!

Raul's new album, "Lost and Found," released in April 2024, showcases his talent for blending folk and roots with jazz, soul, and pop. As a seasoned singer and guitarist, Raul has received multiple Grammy nominations and was honored with the distinguished alumni award from the University of Miami, where he studied before becoming a highly sought-after session singer. His impressive collaborations include work with Lizz Wright, Larry Klein, Arif Mardin, Pat Metheny, Richard Bona, Bill Withers, Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves, and Alex Cuba.
