I have NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) and I've been dealing with this personality disorder for as long as I can remember. I have been in psychotherapy for the last 4 years and Therapy has helped me to figure out exactly why I do what I do and it has allowed me to get to this point where I can offer you the perspective inside the head of a person battling this personality disorder. Why some narcissists try to set you off on purpose
How you react could actually FEED the narcissist. When I say it like that it makes it sound like narcissists are some type of rabid animal that needs to be avoided, but sometimes that's how they act. They want you to react to the things they say and do because it fuels them and keeps them going. Some of them like to hurt you and do things to you on purpose just to get that juicy reaction they crave! Controlling your reactions is a super power that you have to work on.

You can't make a narcissist happy
You can’t make them happy. It’s one of the tough things that people have to realize when dealing with a narcissist. Can a narcissist be happy? Yes, but only for short periods of time. It’s not your fault that the narcissistic person in your life isn’t happy on a consistent basis, that’s on them and something that they need to work on for themselves.

40yrs married to narcissist
Lee…you have changed me forever. You explain behavior, manipulation, give answers to understand their “crazy “. Jeckall/Hyde I labeled it b4 narcissistic behavior was on the map. Sharing your journey is most extraordinary and it changes my perspective. I’m classic, no friends, no family, live in the country, his eyes do get black. Rants, rages, spits in face, has pushed me around, cheats, lies, he loves to watch me BURN. he is compassionate for all but for his wife He gets a buzz on a smear campaign, says terrible lies especially to my 83yr old mother. He does tell on himself when accusing me of whatever. His choke collar is tight and my leash is short. I can do nothing right. You help UNBLUR the lines he intentionally makes. I’ve learned so much. I had lived every experience you speak of, thank you for releasing my chains I put on that never helped. I’d like more help from the work shops etc you offer. I was a vibrant, happy, giving young women when I met him. I’m unhealthy, been sick for years, he wants a divorce and he has turned even nastier. I only get a random low allowance. If at all All the red flags. That’s my life ! I gave him all my pay to help build trust only that back fired and I don’t have access to my $$ nothing. I have nothing. Not even respect. You helped me realize what was and wasn’t “love” & not to ignore the truth I really am disposable. You ROCK ! Tess
