Learn how you can use intermittent fasting to improve your physical and mental health, so you can feel better, live longer, and (potentially) reverse chronic disease. Ben Tanner, PA-C explains the science and benefits of fasting in basic terms you can understand. He also shares tips and tricks to help you effectively implement fasting into your lifestyle as painlessly as possible. The show covers basic physiology about how fasting works, and step-by-step advice on how to get started with intermittent fasting (also known as time-restricted eating), or extended fasting (multiple days). You’ll also learn about specific health benefits of different types of fasting, so you can choose the best regimen for your needs. In particular, fasting can be beneficial for people with high blood sugar or high insulin (like type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, or PCOS), high blood pressure, or obesity. It can also benefit people who want to prevent chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, dementia (like Alzheimer's), cancer, or others. (Name = "FastingWell", or "Fasting Well".) Subscribe today!

57: Diabetes Remission (& Other Results) After 3 Years on Low-Carb [New Study]
A new research study (from earlier this year) shows the rates of type 2 diabetes remission and other health improvements after almost 3 years on a low-carb diet (similar to keto). This was in a general practice clinic in England, with Dr. David Unwin. The patients also showed weight loss, improved blood pressure, lower LDL cholesterol, lower triglycerides, and saved money on medications. I'll break down the details of this new research study in today's episode.

56: “The Salt Fix” - Detailed Summary [Why You Need MORE Salt, Not Less]
Salt is a SUPER-important topic for anyone who’s fasting, or eating low-carb. Salt is also very important for overall health. That's why today I'm sharing a detailed summary of the book, The Salt Fix (by Dr. James DiNicolantonio). Timestamps are below.
This summary will help you understand why much of what you've heard about salt may be wrong, where the salt restriction guidelines came from, why it's better and healthier to eat all the salt you crave (at least for most people), and some specific ideas about how to put this info in practice.
