    #225: 5 Signs That You're Not Actually Practicing Intuitive Eating (But You Think You Are)

    You might think you're doing intuitive eating, but if you're feeling frustrated, uncertain or stuck…there's a good chance that you're not actually doing it the way it's meant to be done. No shame in that, this is really common.    In this episode, I'm going to walk you through 5 signs that tell us you're not doing intuitive eating correctly or in its entirety, and what you need to do differently to make it work for you.    If you're: - Still calling food like chips and cookies junk - Letting the scale dictate your self esteem - Telling yourself that you're getting healthier by skipping carbs at lunch - Looking at old photos of yourself and comparing your current body and beating yourself up - Holding onto clothes from 10 years ago that no longer fit   You say you want to be an intuitive eater, but you're not thinking or acting like one.     #223: Can You Still Do Intuitive Eating If You Want To Lose Weight?

Let me be clear: Wanting to lose weight does not disqualify you from intuitive eating. At the same time, trying to use intuitive eating as a weight loss strategy will sabotage the entire process. In this episode, I walk you through the real dilemma so many people get stuck in: being exhausted by dieting, craving peace with food, AND still feeling terrified of weight gain. We'll separate desire from behavior, unpack why weight control feels like safety, and talk about what intuitive eating actually asks of you. We'll also talk about the illusion of control that weight provides, the cultural myths behind it, and why tolerating the discomfort of not controlling your weight is often the missing piece.
