    #223: Can You Still Do Intuitive Eating If You Want To Lose Weight?

    If you're curious about intuitive eating but still secretly hoping it leads to weight loss, this episode is for you. Let me be clear: Wanting to lose weight does not disqualify you from intuitive eating. At the same time, trying to use intuitive eating as a weight loss strategy will sabotage the entire process. In this episode, I walk you through the real dilemma so many people get stuck in: being exhausted by dieting, craving peace with food, AND still feeling terrified of weight gain. We'll separate desire from behavior, unpack why weight control feels like safety, and talk about what intuitive eating actually asks of you. We'll also talk about the illusion of control that weight provides, the cultural myths behind it, and why tolerating the discomfort of not controlling your weight is often the missing piece. Most importantly, I'm going to paint you a picture of what life looks like when intuitive eating is actually integrated: eating feels easy, you trust your hunger, movement is gentle and flexible, less body obsession, and your life is no longer tethered to the scale.     #219: What I'm Changing In My Own Life This Year in 2026

    In this episode, I'm about to share something that even just 6 months ago I never thought I'd be saying out loud. I'm absolutely not retiring the program. It works - I have the stats to prove it.     #218: Know Your Numbers (That Actually Matter More Than Weight): Labs That You Should Have Checked If You're In or Near Perimenopause

    How many times have you been told that being healthy means being at a certain weight or BMI? The reality is that weight and BMI tell us very little about your health.    A much better way to know how healthy your body is are your labs. Whenever I'm working with a client who has health concerns, the first thing we do is gather some data by looking at what their specific health concerns are, and their bloodwork that would give us clues as to how their health is looking.    Your weight tells us one thing: Your gravitational pull.   Your labs tell us many things: How well your organs are doing their jobs, how well your body is regulating its blood sugar, your risk of certain things like cardiovascular events, if you are sick with an infection, if you have systemic inflammation, whether or not you have certain diseases, and so much more.    In this episode, I'm walking you through the labs that I look at and recommend most frequently as a dietitian. These are the labs that tell us what to focus on when it comes to gentle nutrition strategies, and it's a way of listening to what your body is communicating (which is absolutely part of intuitive eating).    *DISCLAIMER: I'm obviously not a doctor, and you should ask your doctor about all of this and work with them to understand what lab tests are most appropriate for you and your unique health needs.
