    E213 J. Paul

Welcome back, Lily, as an interviewer. Our guest this week had a previous addiction to alcohol and started taking kratom powder capsules about 5 years ago. Eventually, he switched over to kava-kratom tonics and began abusing prescription ADHD medications alongside kratom. Quitting with the help of an intensive outpatient treatment program and twelve-step meetings, he was also aided by suboxone, which he has tapered down to 3 mg at the time of the interview.    WANT TO TELL YOUR STORY ON THE PODCAST? https://forms.gle/VWrjhLSTPHqJyVhw7    QUITTING KRATOM SUPPORT MEETINGS https://www.kratommeetings.com        CONNECT WITH US https://www.instagram.com/kratomsobriety        https://twitter.com/kratomsobriety      https://www.tiktok.com/@krat0ms0briety       https://www.youtube.com/@KratomSobriety        https://www.facebook.com/kratomsobriety    https://bsky.app/profile/kratomsobriety.bsky.social  https://www.threads.net/@kratomsobriety        CONTACT THE SHOW Voice: 313-437-7720 Email: kratomsobriety@gmail.com      https://kratomsobriety.com         PLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/kratom-addiction/id1685569424  https://www.audible.com/podcast/Kratom-Addiction/B0C3YHDLV5   https://open.spotify.com/show/4GkQiYu6S8IBn8qswyVm00

    E211 Rocky

Lauren and Rocky talk about his 10-year kratom addiction, starting with kratom powder, then to liquid extracts, and ending on 7-OH, like so many in 2026. Off all substances since January 2025, Rocky had many restarts along his path, which required a stint in residential rehab and sober living along with MOUD injection.  Rocky had a previous history of addiction, but kratom wasn't the solution to his substance abuse challenges, and at several points during his decade using kratom, he also became addicted to cocaine and Adderall.    WANT TO TELL YOUR STORY ON THE PODCAST? https://forms.gle/VWrjhLSTPHqJyVhw7    QUITTING KRATOM SUPPORT MEETINGS https://www.kratommeetings.com        CONNECT WITH US https://www.instagram.com/kratomsobriety        https://twitter.com/kratomsobriety      https://www.tiktok.com/@krat0ms0briety       https://www.youtube.com/@KratomSobriety        https://www.facebook.com/kratomsobriety    https://bsky.app/profile/kratomsobriety.bsky.social  https://www.threads.net/@kratomsobriety        CONTACT THE SHOW Voice: 313-437-7720 Email: kratomsobriety@gmail.com      https://kratomsobriety.com         PLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/kratom-addiction/id1685569424  https://www.audible.com/podcast/Kratom-Addiction/B0C3YHDLV5   https://open.spotify.com/show/4GkQiYu6S8IBn8qswyVm00

    E210 Ron

Ron shares his journey with Lauren, discussing his experience through opioid addiction, alcohol abuse, and kratom dependence over decades, describing how each substance provided temporary relief but ultimately led to secretive, destructive behavior. With his wife's steady support through multiple tapers and renewed commitment to NA/AA meetings, he's now 44 days clean from kratom and focused on building a lasting support system rather than facing recovery alone.   WANT TO TELL YOUR STORY ON THE PODCAST? https://forms.gle/VWrjhLSTPHqJyVhw7    QUITTING KRATOM SUPPORT MEETINGS https://www.kratommeetings.com        CONNECT WITH US https://www.instagram.com/kratomsobriety        https://twitter.com/kratomsobriety      https://www.tiktok.com/@krat0ms0briety       https://www.youtube.com/@KratomSobriety        https://www.facebook.com/kratomsobriety    https://bsky.app/profile/kratomsobriety.bsky.social  https://www.threads.net/@kratomsobriety        CONTACT THE SHOW Voice: 313-437-7720 Email: kratomsobriety@gmail.com      https://kratomsobriety.com         PLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/kratom-addiction/id1685569424  https://www.audible.com/podcast/Kratom-Addiction/B0C3YHDLV5   https://open.spotify.com/show/4GkQiYu6S8IBn8qswyVm00

    E209 Kara

Lauren interviews Kara, who shares her journey through years of opioid and heroin addiction, a period of sustained recovery, and an unexpected relapse into kratom use she discovered unknowingly through a drink at a music festival. Kara details the physical and emotional toll of kratom withdrawal, her eventual detox and treatment at the ANR Clinic using advanced neuro-regulation therapy, and the friend whose generosity made her recovery possible. She closes by encouraging listeners struggling with addiction to seek support, practice mindfulness, and recognize their own strength and worth. Quote of the show: "Harder the lesson, the bigger the blessing."
