The Dating Conversation I Keep Overhearing - Ep. 49

I keep running into the same conversation lately - overhearing it, seeing it online, hearing it from clients. People saying they just don't have anything left to give to dating or relationships right now. This episode is me unpacking that from a few different angles: why recognizing your own capacity is actually healthy, why I don't think we have to have ourselves fully figured out before we can be in a relationship, and how much of this comes down to how overworked, overstimulated, and oversaturated our lives have become. I talk about the real cost of being constantly plugged in, what it actually takes to open up emotional space for connection, and how to tell the difference between protecting your energy and just staying closed off. Key Themes: The conversation I keep overhearing: "I don't have anything more to give to dating" Why recognizing your own capacity is valuable Letting go of the idea you have to be "fully figured out" before you can be in a relationship How overwork, overstimulation, and being overbooked is draining our capacity for connection Living intentionally and doing what inspires you as a way to create more capacity Finding the balance between honoring where you are and staying open to what's possible Work With Me: My coaching practice is a space to look more closely at your own life, relationships, identity, health, sexuality, and the things you’re working through. My approach is integrative and deeply personal to you, with the goal of helping you understand yourself more clearly and create a life that feels aligned with who you are. I'd love to work with you! Reach out anytime to start a conversation.  Common Confidential: Common Confidential is my line of intimate wellness essentials created to make intimacy feel a little easier, slower, and more intentional. I Said the D Word & October's Monthly Read - Ep. 48

I said the word "divorce" on Instagram last week and people had a lot of opinions. It was in the podcast episode too, but less opinions there. It's not a word I use lightly and this episode gets into why it carries so much weight and what it's like to be on the receiving end of everyone else's reactions to it. Which was perfect for October's Monthly Read: Strangers by Belle Burden, a memoir of marriage that's really about the unraveling of one. I talk about how much I saw myself in her story, the strange parallels between how people respond to divorce and how they responded when I had cancer, and why the real gift of a book like this is the reminder that you never actually know what someone else is carrying. Key Themes: Why the word "divorce" carries so much weight, and why I use it carefully October's Monthly Read: Strangers by Belle Burden, a memoir of marriage The strange similarities between how people react to divorce and to cancer How all relationships change in the wake of divorce Rebuilding and reinventing yourself on the other side of an ending Why reading memoirs builds real empathy for what other people are going through The reminder that you never know someone's whole story Work With Me: My coaching practice is a space to look more closely at your own life, relationships, identity, health, sexuality, and the things you’re working through. My approach is integrative and deeply personal to you, with the goal of helping you understand yourself more clearly and create a life that feels aligned with who you are. I Went to a Wedding and Thought About My Divorce - Ep. 47

Back from a wedding and settling back into my own routine, which taught me something I didn't expect: I'm not against routine, I just need it to be mine. I talk about getting back into running after two years away. It's not just about exercise, but creating an energy shift that I was craving. Then the thought that kept surfacing all week, the moment in a relationship when you know it's over but you haven't left yet. I went to a wedding and kept thinking about my own life and what that feeling is like, why it takes so many of us a while to get there, and how living through it has changed the way I show up for the people I work with. Key Themes: A new way to look at routine Why I'm getting back into running after 2+ years How weddings can stir up reflection on your own relationships The moment you know a relationship is over but haven't left yet That shift can feel freeing, terrifying, and sad all at once How living through hard endings deepens empathy in coaching work Work With Me: My coaching practice is a space to look more closely at your own life, relationships, identity, health, sexuality, and the things you’re working through. Behind the Business: The Stress Nobody Sees #46

Today's episode is a little more spontaneous than usual. I sat down to record because I was feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and like I wasn't doing enough, even though, when I really looked at it, that wasn't fully true. I talk about how much we glamorize entrepreneurship and business ownership, what "panic working" looks like when you're spiraling, and how I brought myself back to what's important instead of chasing quick fixes or distractions. It's an honest look at what building a business really feels like and the normal response to stress.  Key Themes: Glamorization of entrepreneurship, business ownership, and content creation What panic working looks like and how to catch yourself doing it Separating what's real from what you're exaggerating when you're overwhelmed Refocusing on the few things that actually move the needle Knowing your own motivation, whether it's money, freedom, or creative fulfillment Why discipline comes easier when it's built around what you love Work With Me: My coaching practice is a space to look more closely at your own life, relationships, identity, health, sexuality, and the things you’re working through. My approach is integrative and deeply personal to you, with the goal of helping you understand yourself more clearly and create a life that feels aligned with who you are. The Moments That Quietly Built Who You Are - Ep. 45

This week I'm thinking about the memories that quietly shape who we become. The ones that keep resurfacing throughout our lives, for seemingly no reason. I share two of mine: a childhood summer memory that gave me an early, lasting sense of body confidence, and a moment that left me with a quieter message about curiosity and shame. I talk about why I think it's worth going back to our hardest memories on purpose, not to dwell, but to actually learn from them, and how the things we were curious about as kids so often point toward exactly who we grow up to become or what we should follow. Key Themes: The small, random memories that keep resurfacing, and what they might be telling us Some of my memories and the lasting message How childhood curiosity can point toward the work and passions we grow into Using memory as a tool for guidance, validation, or simply reflection Inner child work as a way to reconnect with what once made you happy Work With Me: My coaching practice is a space to look more closely at your own life, relationships, identity, health, sexuality, and the things you’re working through. My approach is integrative and deeply personal to you, with the goal of helping you understand yourself more clearly and create a life that feels aligned with who you are. Monthly Book Club No. 2 - Sunburn #44

This month's book club pick is Sunburn, a coming-of-age story set in 1990s rural Ireland about a teenage girl discovering her queerness in a world where it doesn't feel accepted. The book brought up what it means to feel far away from yourself before you ever feel far from other people, why the intensity of first love doesn't have to be tied to age, and how family and community expectation quietly shape who we let ourselves become. It's a story about identity, sexuality, and self-discovery, but underneath it's really about the same question I keep coming back to lately: when do we follow love, and when do we choose the status quo instead. Key Themes: • This month's read, Sunburn, and what drew me to it • Discovering your identity in a place where the words for it are still taboo • The intensity of love • Choosing love against family, community, or religious expectation • Learning to see your parents as full people Work With Me: My coaching practice is a space to look more closely at your own life, relationships, identity, health, sexuality, and the things you’re working through. My approach is integrative and deeply personal to you, with the goal of helping you understand yourself more clearly and create a life that feels aligned with who you are. When to Follow Your Heart (and When to Let It Go) - Ep.43

This week I'm sitting with a question I can't shake: when do you follow your heart, and when do you let it go? Between a Sunday morning walk, a hard therapy session, and a week spent noticing I found myself circling the same idea over and over. The conflict that can exist between what our heart desires and what family, religion, or expectation ask of us instead. As a lover myself I talk about why we can't stop telling ourselves tragic love stories and what it means to take my own self-care as seriously as I ask my clients to. Key Themes: The pull between following your heart and honoring expectation, family, or fear Why we're drawn to tragic love stories Taking therapy and self-care seriously as the foundation for doing meaningful work Making space for the small things you love before the season slips by What it really means to live fully  vulnerability, rawness, honesty, and courage and the ruthlessness of your heart Work With Me: My coaching practice is a space to look more closely at your own life, relationships, identity, health, sexuality, and the things you’re working through. My approach is integrative and deeply personal to you, with the goal of helping you understand yourself more clearly and create a life that feels aligned with who you are. How to Exercise Without Exhausting Yourself - Ep. 42

How do you make exercise a consistent part of your life without feeling like it takes over your schedule or leaves you depleted? In this episode, I’m answering a listener question about finding the right balance between movement, energy, and everything else we have to do in a day. I talk about looking more closely at how we actually spend our time, choosing forms of exercise that support rather than exhaust us, and why sleep, nutrition, and recovery are all part of the conversation. It’s doing more, but about finding a realistic and efficient approach to movement that fits your life. Key Themes • Finding time for exercise in a busy schedule • Using a “reverse planner” to see where your time goes • Exercise should generally leave you feeling energized, not depleted • Why harder and more intense doesn't always mean better • Building a simple routine around walking, strength training, and mobility • Making movement fit into the life you already have • Why consistency and effectiveness matter more than quantity Work With Me: My coaching practice is a space to look more closely at your own life, relationships, identity, health, sexuality, and the things you’re working through.
