3 Habits to Complete Your Fall Reset

What if some of the things that matter most in your life are the very things that are easiest to let slip? In this final episode of the Fall Reset series, we’re looking at three weekly practices that can help us create a more intentional, healthy and spiritually grounded life. These aren't simply three more things to add to your to-do list. Each one addresses something we all need if we want to keep growing: personal growth, meaningful community, and purposeful rest. I'll share why these practices have become important in my own life, what I noticed when they slipped away over the summer, and how I've seen their absence affect my health, relationships, faith and even my ability to stay focused on the things that matter most. We'll also talk about why purposeful work and purposeful rest belong together, why some kinds of growth are difficult to experience alone, and why continuing to learn and develop is part of becoming the person God created us to be. This episode wraps up my Fall Reset with a simple invitation: don't leave the things that matter most to chance. Make room for them. Plan for them. Practice them. And when you get off track, begin again. If you've been following along with the Fall Reset—or you're just joining us—this is a great place to finish the series and decide what these practices might look like in your own life. The Weekly Habit That Can Change More Than You Think

What if one of the most powerful practices for growing in self-control, depending on God, and learning not to be ruled by every feeling or desire was something Christians have practiced for thousands of years? In this episode of Honoring My Temple, Kelly continues her Fall Reset series with one weekly habit she’s intentionally bringing back: fasting. Fasting is about so much more than simply going without food. It creates space to seek God, reveals the appetites and impulses that may have more control over us than we realize, and gives us an opportunity to practice saying no to what we want in the moment for the sake of something we value more. Kelly shares what biblical fasting can look like, why it can benefit both our spiritual and physical health, and how she incorporates fasting into her own Sunday routine. If fasting has always sounded intimidating—or you’ve simply gotten out of the habit—this episode will help you approach it in a simple, practical, and meaningful way as part of your own Fall Reset. Join Me In a Fall Reset

Join me in a Fall Reset! 🍂 Get Started Here Our days matter. How we spend them matters. And what we repeatedly do with them matters. In this episode, we’re making the Fall Reset practical with four simple habits to recommit to each day: exercise, eating God-given foods, prayer and time in the Word, and gratitude. We’ll talk about taking responsibility for the things God has placed within our control, preparing ahead so healthy choices are easier to make, and why consistency matters so much more than one perfect day. Because the ten-minute workout, the simple healthy meal, the time spent in Scripture, and the three things you stop to thank God for may not feel life-changing in the moment—but repeated over months and years, those small, faithful choices begin to shape who we become. Control the controllables. Trust God with the rest. And keep showing up. Ready to do it with me? Why we drift and how we can reset to get back on track

Join me in a Fall Reset! 🍂 Click here for the resources to join me! :) If some of your good habits slipped over the summer, you’re not alone. This is our opportunity to get back on track together—not with an extreme plan or a long list of new goals, but by recommitting to the simple things we already know matter. In this episode, we’re talking about why structure can make self-discipline easier, how easily we can drift out of good habits, and why getting back on track begins with preparation—deciding ahead of time what matters and creating a structure that helps us follow through. We’ll also take an honest look at where we may have drifted. Maybe it’s exercise or eating well. Maybe our time in the Word has become inconsistent. Maybe our schedules feel chaotic, or we’ve simply stopped making progress toward something that matters to us. We don’t need to fix everything at once. We can simply decide that we’re ready to be intentional again. This episode kicks off our Fall Reset, and in the next episode we’ll get practical with the daily and weekly practices we’re committing to from September through November. Ready to join me? How badly do you really want it?

Most of us have a picture in our minds of how we'd like to feel—stronger, healthier, more energetic, more confident. But if we're honest, there's often a gap between what we say we want and what we're willing to do to get there. In this episode of Honoring My Temple, we explore why lasting change requires more than good intentions. We'll look at the tension between wanting the result and embracing the process, what the book of James teaches us about wisdom, and why our health goals may need a Christ-centered perspective rather than a culture-centered one. If you've ever felt stuck, discouraged, or frustrated with your progress, this episode will encourage you to stop chasing the world's definition of success and begin asking God for the wisdom to pursue what truly matters. Because maybe the greatest transformation isn't just changing your body—it's allowing God to change your heart, your habits, and your priorities along the way. If Change Is the Goal, Something Has to Change

Do you ever feel stuck? Like you've been wanting change for a long time, but somehow keep ending up in the same place? Whether it's your weight, your health, your habits, or another area of life, there comes a point when we have to ask an honest question: Are the things we're doing actually producing the results we want? In this episode of Honoring My Temple, we'll explore the difference between maintenance and growth, why motivation alone isn't enough, and how small shifts in awareness, habits, and support can lead to meaningful change over time. We'll also discuss a powerful biblical perspective on growth, why lasting change is often built one ordinary decision at a time, and one simple question that may be more important than asking "how." If you've been feeling frustrated, stagnant, or ready for a fresh approach, this episode is for you.
