    Our Sega Dreamcasts may be showing their age, but thankfully, there are more ways than ever in 2026 to breathe new life into the console and enhance your play experience. In this new episode of the DreamPod, Lewis, Harvey (Pizza Hotline) and returning guest Derek Pascarella have got together to cover as many Dreamcast mods as they can, from upgrades that help keep your console running reliably, to new ways to play your favourite games and homebrew. The lads rank the nine officially released football-related titles for the system, along with Premier Eleven, the long-thought-lost Atomiswave arcade title that was recently preserved and ported to the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast football games are a weird bunch, occasionally showing flashes of brilliance, while just as often scoring spectacular own goals. But which game takes home the trophy?     Episode 150: Mike Tucker of Bitmap Bureau

    We had to do something special for the 150th episode of the DreamPod. Well, turns out that Tom is good friends with gaming industry veteran and design director of indie powerhouse Bitmap Bureau, Mike Tucker, and getting him on the DreamPod was long overdue. Joined by the foremost expert on Giant Killers in the Western world™, Kev, we look back at Mike's career in the games industry — from playtesting classics like Carmageddon at SCi Games, to his time at io Productions working on the cancelled Dreamcast sheep-herding title Stampede and spending many gruelling hours trying to break Giant Killers (spoiler: it broke him), right through to his present-day work at Bitmap Bureau creating critically acclaimed titles such as Terminator 2D: No Fate, and Xeno Crisis, the latter of which placed third in our 2024 Top 25 Dreamcast Indie Games community vote.     The Dreamcast Junkyard kicks off the year in style with the first DreamPod of 2026 – and we're diving into a subject we know is close to many Dreamcast fans' hearts: the magazines. Join Brian, Tom, James, Lozz and Lewis for a nostalgic deep dive into the world of Dreamcast mags. On the UK side, we explore the unique style and personalities of titles such as Official Dreamcast Magazine, DC-UK, Dreamcast Magazine (the unofficial one), Dreamcast Monthly, and the odd but fascinating kids mag Mr. Dreamcast. We also revisit Official Sega Saturn Magazine, which evolved into something of a proto-Dreamcast mag in its final issues. Heading over to the States, Brian compares the tone and editorial style of publications such as the US' own Official Dreamcast Magazine and Ziff Davis' quarterly DCM (Dreamcast Magazine), while Lozz takes us on a globe-trotting tour of international Dreamcast magazines, shining a light on lesser-known titles from beyond the UK and US.
