Your Child Isn't Too Far Gone

Manasseh was the worst king in Judah’s history. He reigned 55 years. He sacrificed his own children. He put idols in the temple. Scripture says he made Judah worse than the nations God had driven out before Israel arrived. God forgave him. Josiah became king at eight years old. His grandfather had spent 55 years filling the land with pagan shrines and false gods. His father was assassinated after two years. By any measure, he inherited the worst possible spiritual legacy. What happened next is one of the most unexpected turnaround stories in all of Scripture. A young king with nothing to build on became the starting point for national revival — because he sought God himself, tore down what his grandfathers had built, and discovered a forgotten Bible in the rubble of the temple. When Josiah heard it read, he tore his clothes.
