I’ve been listening to articles of interest since it debuted on 99 PI. It tells great stories, though some fall in the overstretched “fashion explains everything around you” vein of storytelling. I like the frequently obscure stories the show tells. What is most annoying about the show is the ever-present left wing speech patterns (always calling attention to race, gender, sex, etc. even when it doesn’t have much to do with the story… like if they’re covering something to do with culture of the 1800s, there will inevitably be the line of “the men of time… and it was all men”). The first episode of the latest season covering gear has the really weird 30-40 second tangent, after Avery refers to the USA as America, of her making sure the audience knows that she knows that the US is only part of the North and South American continents and that she knows that there are other countries on these continents and it’s just a shortening of speech that she really wishes there was an alternative to, please, please, please don’t cancel me for referring to the US as America. Setting aside the fact people from the US are referred to the world over as “Americans”, this kind of way of speaking is just the tip of the iceberg of why people think the left is weird and hates the US. If you can ignore things like that, you’ll find this show entertaining and informative.
